Trying To Remember

Mo Zhang glared at him and then pointed at Xu Lina in the bed. He made a silent gesture and then covered Xu Lina properly by the comforter. After that he signaled him to get out with his chin.

Ji Tang was dumbfounded by what he saw. Still he involuntarily walked out of the room followed by Mo Zhang who closed the door of the room very softly that no sound was made.

Mo Zhang walked into his study and Ji Tang followed him with three big red question marks on his head.

Mo Zhang sat down on the sofa and Ji Tang sat down opposite to him and looked at with a strange expression.

"What? I got married six years ago. So isn't it normal for me to have kids?" Mo Zhang asked.

Ji Tang felt strange. The sentence itself was alright. A person married for six years obviously have kids but this situation doesn't apply to the creature sitting infront of him.

"Of course, you got married. But since then you never mentioned your wife and you guys even live separately. In these situations, the kids were still born!! Wow!!" Ji Tang said.

"And now tell me what is going on between you and Xu Lina. Why is she in your bedroom?"

Mo Zhang narrowed his eyes at him, "You know her?"

"Of course, who doesn't know her in the medical field and the doctor's circle. No tell me your relationship with her." Ji Tang did not leave the main question that has been bothering him.

"She is my wife." Mo Zhang told him nonchalantly.

"Wif...e?!?!?" Ji Tang was stunned.

"She is your wife?" He asked.

"Yes." Mo Zhang nodded.

After a few seconds of silence, Ji Tang looked at him with a serious expression and asked.

"Mo Zhang, tell me the truth. Did you divorce your wife you married six years ago and now you married Xu Lina?"

Mo Zhang scowled at him and stressed each of his word.

"Xu Lina was the woman I married six years ago. I did not divorce her nor do I plan to do so."

"Xu Lina was the woman you married six years ago?" Ji Tang asked in disbelief.

Mo Zhang didn't bother to reply the idiot infront of him.

"But wasn't she just an ordinary girl your father wanted you to marry? How come she is Xu Lina?" Ji Tang asked in confusion.

Mo Zhang did not reply immediately. He sighed and rubbed his forehead.

"Actually, I didn't know who I got married to. I don't know a single thing about her except that she is an influent and renowned doctor."

"My dad asked me to marry the daughter of his friend. I don't know which friend it was who suddenly came out of nowhere."

Silence..... for a few seconds.

"So who are her parents." Ji Tang again asked a stupid question.

"I just said that I don't know!" Mo Zhang said lamely.

"You never paid respect to your in-laws?" Ji Tang asked with his eyebrows raised.

"No." The reply was straight forward.

"Not even on the wedding ceremony?" Ji Tang did not let him go.

"..... They were not there." Mo Zhang replied after thinking for sometime. "But...."

"But what?" Ji Tang asked immediately.

"I think her siblings were there...." Mo Zhang replied thoughtfully.

"She has siblings?" Ji Tang asked, "How many and are they brothers or sisters?"

Mo Zhang frowned and even after thinking for quite some time he could not recall.

"I don't know...." He said in a low voice.

Ji Tang sighed, looked at his friend and again sighed.

Then he remembered another thing.

"You said you don't plan to divorce her?"

"Yes, I don't want to divorce her. I want to live with her and our kids like a happy family." Mo Zhang replied.

"Is it because of kids? or .... ?" Ji Tang raised an eyebrow.

"Maybe because of kids but mainly I think that I am given a chance to correct my mistake." Mo Zhang spoke

"Chance? you are given a chance? Isn't she given a chance? You said that she was a scheming woman. And you hated her all this time. What.... what are you saying?" Ji Tang was confused.

"She didn't do anything that night. It was all my Mom's doing. She drugged both of us."

"Xu Lina was also a victim just like me. May be she was the bigger victim."

"She is not a scheming woman. I misunderstood her. But it was cleared later."

"I never hated her all these years."

"But I think she hates me."

"It would be great if she could give me a chance which is a very low probability."

Mo Zhang put his elbows on his knees and bowed his head into his hands.

He rubbed his face.

"I don't want to lose the kids and her again."

"But I don't know what to do?" He leaned back on the back of the sofa and closed his eyes.

A sigh escaped his lips.

Ji Tang looked at him and didn't know what to say so he just wisely kept his mouth shut.

He was not a love guru that could advise him in this matter.

He was just a doctor. So he just did what he could do. Check on his friend's wife.

He suddenly remembered another important thing.

"What's with all those bruises on her body? Where was she? These wounds look new."

Mo Zhang opened his eyes and sat up straight.

He frowned and said, "I don't know...."

Ji Tang, "..."

"You know what Mo Zhang, it's only right for her to hate you."

"What kind of husband are you? Your wife got hurt and you don't even know how, when or where did she got hurt? Wow! Fabulous!"

"I am going back to my clinic and not staying here. Just take care of your wife yourself."

"Also she, herself is a doctor. Good Night!"

With that he went out leaving Mo Zhang alone in the study room to ponder.
