Chapter 3:My Heartless Stepmother

I was at home with my family or let me just say I was at home with my father, Stepmother and my little stepsister. I lost my mother 17years ago after she gave birth to me normally in fairy tale they said stepmoms are wicked but mine is heartless, I was washing the dishes as usual, am doing the chores around the house, but I'm not okay with the way she treats me like her own maid. l was doing the dishes when my stepmother Xiao Bei was coming from the market.

" Honey I'm home!" Xiao Bei said

she entered and locked the door

Just to be clear I know am not the honey she's talking about, she was talking about my little sister stepsister peipei who was busy watching TV she didn't even notice her mother's arrival, not to be rude our mothers arrival before Xiao Bei said

" Where's mummy little darling"

" Mummy!!! " peipei said and gave her a hug.

I was through with the dishes so I went to the living room I saw peipei still hugging Xiao Bei, as i was coming close to them Xiao Bei stopped my trackes

"Hey, what? did I call you for a hug"she asked harshly

' Hug? I never wanted to hug her not that she ever hugged me willingly'

"No.. good evening ma I... I umm just wanted to collect your ba..bag from you"

The way of the force she threw her bag almost let my arm fall off, l felt a shock of pain when I caught the bag I wish I never caught it but if I don't I know they will be cocequences I have to face

"Ow"I hissed in pain?"

"Have you done your chores?"she asked without any concerns for my arm

I clench my teeth together and used it to answer her questions"Yes ma"

"Wash the dishes?"

"Yes"

"Wash peipei's uniform"

"Yes "

"Moped the floor, wash the toilet, make my bed, vacuumed the whole house, polished my shoes?"

"Yes!"

"Okay better, anyways the is a bag of veggies in my bag rinse them well and make the soup am tired" Xiao Bei said then she left.

' Tired!, she's tired! all she does all day is to just slack around while all my body aches, sometimes if she had the opportunity to punish me she wouldn't feed me, so I have been wanting to tell my dad about getting a part time job after school, the good news, she was going to sleep and my dad will be home soon.

The air was filled with the delicious small of soup I fed peipei so she can go to sleep and I read her a book, few minutes later my dad was home I got his dinner ready and decided to eat with him my dad has always been busy working as a banker my family is not that wealthy but we are more than average.

My father (Lucian) and I resemble each other so very much, I gave him a tight hug.

" Hum, what small so good?"

"That your dinner dad , welcome home "

"where's your mom and sister "

"They both went to bed "

"Haven't you eaten?"

"No worries father, I was waiting for you hoping we could have dinner together tonight"

"Oh dear you shouldn't have, you have school tomorrow"

"I just wanted to talk to you"

"About what?"

"Please let take our seats first" I said pointing him to the dinning table and we walked towards the chairs and took our seats.

"Please help yourself to dinner dad you've been working hard" I said a bit concerned.

"Okay, if you say so" he said smiling and he began to eat.

"Dad"

"Yes dear"

"I was wondering how It will feel to have a job and work hard to feed us" I said and stopped for a while then I began again"All I want to say is that l...l....l just want to have a part time job, I know you may not be okay with it but just hear me out..."
