Angel

Walking alone at a steady pace, a young woman was gently walking on the roadside while dragging behind her a small-sized suitcase. The lifeless look in her eyes got more intense under the very dark sky. Her white sundress seemed to dance with the wind. Everything made her look so lonely.

Her steps led her to a dark alley. When she seemed to notice a gaze following her, she halted and turned around to take a good look at her surroundings. After confirming that she was alone, she resumed her walk.

However just when she thought that it was just her imagination, the gaze got more intense and she started to feel like she was in real danger. She accelerated her pace but nothing changed and it even felt as if the gaze got nearer.

Looking behind her, she saw the face of a young man rushing toward her and she suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. She panicked and tried to run when she heard him trying to reach out to her.

"Please, wait!" the man said in a hurry and she stopped. And taking a closer look, he didn't look like a hooligan at all. She decided to at least listen to whatever he had to say.

"Please, help me! I'm injured", the man said hastily. But strangely she felt a sense of familiarity coming from this man. Without giving it much thought, she looked at his wound to see if she could do anything.

The wound was caused by a gunshot. She started wondering as to where he got that as it was such a quiet area. She laid her luggage on the ground and opened it to get her first aid kit.

She first removed the bullet, then bandaged it after properly disinfecting it. 'My medical military training is finally useful. It was not completely a waste of time' she thought. After she gave him proper instructions on cleaning his wound, she left.

"Please wait! May I know your name?" he asked as politely and formally as possible. She gave a good thought to that and then finally came to an answer "Hmmmm, I don't think I have an identity and even if I have it doesn't matter. So, you can just call me 'Angel'. Bye-bye", saying that she left in a haste.

"Boss, sorry for the delay and for disappointing you. We did not manage to catch them but we at least have a clue of where he may be hiding", a man in a black suit said in apology as he knew perfectly what his boss was capable of.

His boss nodded then entered the car and drove away. He planned to investigate that mysterious lady. He had a feeling that he had known her a long time ago, but he didn't know when or how.

Still dragging her suitcase, Izara stopped in front of a small hotel and intended to spend the night there. She brought some money with her, so she could afford a night in it and even more.

In her room, she could barely close her eyes. How could she sleep after what she saw before leaving her husband's house? That scene was like a wound to her. A fresh one.

It was so painful. Thinking that she loved that man and was even pregnant with his child pains her greatly. She regrets everything. She regrets falling in love with a scumbag. She regrets allowing that woman in her marital home. She regrets being softhearted. She wished she could go back and fix her mistakes.

If she had known that that woman was so viscous, she would have interfered in her marriage with her dad. But again it was too late. She sighed in despair and finally slept.

The night was long. The sweet memories between her husband and her started displaying themselves like a film and then the ending was tragic.

The next day, Izara woke up with a small yawn and went to open the windows. The sky was still dark meaning it had to be the early hours of the morning. She wanted to stay in bed till dawn but suddenly she heard her stomach rumbling. She checked the time on her watch and it was 5:23 a.m.

It seemed like her baby could not wait till dawn to eat. She went to brush her teeth and went down to the reception. After being directed to the kitchen, she ate some fruits, drank some water, and then returned to her room.

After taking her bath and dressing in comfortable clothes, Izara decided to check her phone and got shocked by all the missed calls and unread messages from her husband.

She indeed made a good decision to off her phone. She knew that her husband would easily find her here as this was his city. Then she rapidly offed her phone again.

As long as she was out of this city, she could successfully run away. But as smart as he was, he had surely placed his men in all the areas leaving the territory. She needed to find a way out of here soon before he finds her.

Taking her suitcase with her, she left the room. On arriving at the reception she heard someone reaching out to her, calling her 'Angel'. It was surely the man she saved last night. Only he would call her that.

The world was indeed really small. But what was he doing there? Was he spying on her? Did he follow her last night? She started being on her guard.

Mateo -the man she saved- was happy to see her here as he couldn't forget her back view and that familiar feeling he felt near her. Last night, he thought that he was dreaming when he saw her silhouette at the reception. His assistant thought that it will be better for them to sleep there for the night because it was too late to take the helicopter.

As last night was too dark for him to see her face clearly, now that he had the opportunity to see again his 'Angel'. he won't miss the chance to see her face because of the familiar vibe she gave him.

Turning her head in his direction to face him, Izara froze at the sight. Why was she feeling even more and more familiar with him? That face! He looked too familiar. She was disturbed.
