6 Village

We spend the next few days going down the stream, and I am exhausted.

Carrying Eye and my backpack was becoming too much, so It tried to fly some parts of the path to ease some of my load, but even so, our breaks are getting longer and less scarce.

Our days pass on with a routine of waking up, eating leaves, walking, drinking water, walking, more leaves, water, and so on until the night when we would sleep.

I was feeling a little dizzy when I hear Eye making some excited squeaks.

It sometimes would fly higher than the surrounding trees to see if there are any villages around, thus if It is excited, it must have seen something.

I hasten my steps, but it was farther away than I thought, and I end up collapsing.

I will just rest for a bit...

...

When I wake up, I am inside a little hut.

I hope Eye hid, I am not sure how the people here would treat a creature like It.

Someone enters the tent and says something to me, but I can't understand it nor see who they are, as the sun is just behind them and blinds me.

I change my glace to a darker corner of the tent.

However, thinking it might be rude to just leave them hanging I slowly shake my head; I was about to say in my own language that I couldn't understand them, but it would ruin all the effort of switching to this world's clothes, and my hair is already too much of a suspicious thing.

I point to my ears and shake my head again.

I hope they have they can understand I am deaf and thus, don't know what they are saying.

The stranger seems to realize the sun is too dazzling to someone than stayed indoors for I don't know how long, such they decide to enter and I finally can see how they are like.

A man around 40-ish years, a little taller than me and slightly pending to one side-

My eyes snap down to his feet.

The right one is nothing that resembles a foot.

It is just a piece of wood.

A pirate-

I reprimand myself for the first thought that crosses my mind.

He isn't a pirate, we are nowhere near the sea.

I think we are nowhere near the sea, since I don't hear the sound of any water hitting sand nor wood, and the bed I am is as still as a rock.

Oh, but just thinking how he looks like a pirate makes me so happy. Pirates are so cool! So freaking cool!

It reminds me of one of my favorite childhood books, where a young pirate wants to conquer the sea, but everytime he tries to fight anyone, he discovers they are sad or in trouble and instead helps them.

Looking at my host, I think I might have made a range of strange faces, since he retreated to the corner I was staring at earlier.

Now, how can we communicate?

I am really bad with drawing, but I guess it was one of the first forms of comunication for a reason.

If it is stick people, it might be easy to pull it off.

Full of determination, I raise my head... And a brown set of clothing hits my face.

Having successfully atracted my attention, the man makes eating motions and points outside.

Oh, I guess mimic works too. Actually, didn't I just use mimic to signalize I was mute?

Did my maturity plummet to that of a seven year old child just because of someone looks?

This is... Quite shameful.

Maybe not shameful, since people act this way when they meet their idols too?

Yeah, I just acted that way because I am a fan of pirates, there's nothing wrong with that.

The man exits the tent and I rise to my feet using the bed as a support, since my knees are still a bit weak.

I finish changing to the clothes, than are pretty bland, even more considering what I was using when I left the castle.

Then, I remember that I didn't take a bath during my journey with how focused I was in just walking and arriving... somewhere.

I must find somewhere to take one after eating.
