Moving into the City

A young werewolf sat against the wall, with his fists clenched."I'll show them," he growled, "the city will learn...."

20 years later...

Katelyn's POV

My name is Katelyn. My friends call me Katie. I'm coming here into the city to see my family again. For the longest time, I had been living with my husband down in Tennessee. Ex--husband, anyway. She warned me. My sister, Lexie told me I shouldn't have married him, but I was stubborn. I mean, even Carrie Underwood slammed the lesson in my face. I was on my way, got hungry, decided to stop at a gas station to get a snack...when "Good Girl" started playing on the radio. I laughed, and the woman next to me thought I was a psycho. But really, I wanted to cry. I eventually did, and the woman became weirded out. Well we're here in New York and I haven't had anything to eat. So I decided to stop by a restaurant. "Siri, find the nearest restaurant...ahem. SIRI, FIND-- THE NEAREST RESTAURANT! Dadgum! SIRI! SHOW ME WHERE I CAN GET SOME DADGUM FOOD! Finally you decide to work. There's a Seafood restaurant right around the corner. Good enough." Stupid Siri. I was just about to turn when I saw people screaming and runnin. Some people got out of their cars. I stopped my car and starred. What's goin on? What are they runnin from? Suddenly a man came and pounded on my window, making me jump. He yelled at me, saying I was crazy staying in my car, and I need to go the other way. No. I'm going to find out what all this nonsense is about. After the city empties, of course. I jerk my car forward, and he shook his head. Then he turned back and ran with the crowd. I was just looking at my messages on my phone when suddenly...

THUD! THUD! THUD!

What the fudge? My car shook with every thud. I slumped down in my seat. It was an enormous... mechanical...wolf? Again. What--the fudge. What is this place really? Is it villain and hero city or something like that? I sighed dreamily at the thought. I would love to meet their hero. The army comes in with helicopters and the police. Well, at least I know there's someone in this city who ain't afraid of this villain. AHHHH!!! ARE THOSE MISSILES? IS IT REALLY THAT SERIOUS?!? Shoot, I gotta to learn to drive like Fast and Furious if I'm gonna live here. One of the police cars drifts to a stop next to mine, and I see my dad step out of the passenger side of the car. My dad was always brave. He was scared of nothin! I stayed hidden until all the explosions stopped. Strange that I almost fell asleep through the entire darn thing. I actually would have, if it weren't for that mechanical wolf fallin down infront of my car. It was hard to see due to all the debris. But I'm pretty sure I could make out the shape of a person. They turned to look at me for a moment and ran away. Did they actually see me, or were they looking at something else? I quietly got out of my car and decided to follow them. It ain't gonna be hard tryin to chase them because they seem to be limping. I stopped for a moment, honestly not knowing why I even let them go. But with the blood tracks on the ground, I think I can still follow.

James' POV

Finally, she's gone. I slumped against the couch and rested my legs. Another night, another wound. If this keeps up, I'll be dead by the time the chief of the police becomes president. "Heh, heh heh. That's funny." I jerked up. I never heard screaming this close before.... did she actually...? Welp, seems as though I have been found. I can see it. She's going to call the police, and then I'm probably going to get arrested. This should be fun.
