New Events Unfold

After a couple of minutes of walking we had made it to the train station, of course like before I wasn't the only system user here.

This wasn't uncommon but I'm curious on how many system users reside in the world since it seems quite a few people were given the gift.

"Stay on guard." I say quietly while approaching the crowd.

"I will." Rika responds back as she follows behind me.

The crowd was a decent size but I'm not sure who's capable of doing what here. Regardless I'm here to see what the message is since it's rare that we see these beings in the first place.

We don't see them too often, they are bound to have some sort of knowledge that's important for us.

"As the world changes and you humans evolve, new challenges are going to rise. You'll all be facing a new event within the coming days, it'll test your strength and offer great rewards." The Mysterious Being says.

Its voice was loud without even trying so everyone could clearly hear what it was saying.

Events were also quite common in games but I could only wonder what this events rewards will be since that's the most important part about it.

Whispers also began to go throughout the crowd, everyone seemed to be curious about the rewards as well. Considering most of the rewards so far have been pretty crucial in helping us survive this catastrophe, it's understandable.

"There is also a user who has surpassed the expectations of us already, making you all look weak." The mysterious being says while looking in my direction.

Really upping the ante here. If they all notice it's me I'll be screwed.

Fighting this many users in one place at one time would be suicide, regardless of where I'm at currently. My level is getting higher but all of them combined would be too much for just me and Rika.

"We should probably go." Rika whispers while tugging my arm.

"Yeah let's go." I respond back quietly.

Can't be getting too involved with other system users since most of my encounters have been unpleasant thus far. I'm not sure if I'll find anyone with the same kind of intentions as me.

This world has become a lot more cruel than it ever use to be in the past. All of the people who were gifted so far have taken advantage.

Leaving normal people in the dark to die to the mobs of the world.

But something odd I've noticed is that I haven't seen any heroes yet, so is it even possible that they'd exist in this world? Or maybe I'm the hero of this world.

Before I started walking away with Rika I noticed someone wearing a full set of knight gear, they also seemed to be female. The figure said otherwise for it being a male, so I wonder if that's a hero.

most heroes were already fully equipped in the games or had better starts then the adventurers.

Even though she had a helmet on, I could notice her looking directly at me as everyone shifted their focus onto her. Seems I wasn't the only one curious about her.

Hopefully I don't run into her on bad terms, I'm sick of fighting other people. Mobs and beings with evil intent are fine, but I'm not a fan of fighting any of the humans here.

At least not in a lethal way since I'm not trying to kill anyone.

"Back to getting stronger?" Rika questions with a curious tone.

"Yeah." I respond while focusing on the path ahead of us.

For now I need to keep my focus on getting stronger since this world isn't going to just sit back and watch. Enemies will get stronger as well, that's just the way it works.

Hmm. I have a feeling that I know what this tab is. So I opened up my system menu as usual and looked at the typical tabs till I saw the new one.

"Let the Hunt Begin."

•This event requires that you survive the newest wave of enemies.

•You are also given an extra requirement of having to survive against your hunters!

•Duration: Two Weeks.

•Rewards: 150,000 Zethel, 2 SSS Tier Armor Pieces, and one S Tier Weapon.

~This is given to the highest rated users to help motivate them to keep growing, fighting, and to show who the strongest system user is.

It seems the new event is definitely going to test everyone's abilities to the max, but what's worse is the fact that I'm being hunted by other system users as well.

These beings really are curious about my abilities it seems. It's quite annoying to deal with though.

"Everything alright Sev?" Rika asks with a concerned tone.

"Yeah, just don't like this new event one bit." I respond while looking up at the sky.

I hope Mom is watching this all, because I'm not sure what everyone expects of me otherwise. I've got everything against me right now and there's no telling if the heroes are going to come after me too.

"Well who cares. You just need to focus on leveling right? So screw the event." Rika says with a pissed off tone.

Seems she isn't happy about it either. She may not know the details but she can tell I'm not pleased.

Sigh. It seems I won't have a choice but to keep leveling anyway, regardless of the enemies that I have to face.

~All Previous Quests have been completed. Survive the event Quest is now active.

~Quest, Survive the Event. Reward: 45,000 Zethel, and an SS Tier Artifact.

At least I got a quest bonus from this event as well, that'll definitely make things a bit more interesting if I survive the event and complete the quest.

For now it's time to keep on moving till the events over.
