Chapter 165- Gift Giving Ceremony.

Kathryn's POV.

I smiled all day, today is the gift giving ceremony,but it was so early and it hasn't started yet, but here I am smiling away as I stared at Lyn barking orders, someone could think that the reason I am happy right now, was because I knew the gift I knew I was going to receive today, but that wasn't what happened, I am happy because of last night, immediately last night came into my brain,I couldn't help but flush, my cheeks were definitely red, I am sure of it, I shook my head willing myself to stop remembering it, but I just knew it would be engraved in my memory forever.

I remember his chuckle at my demand for him to undress too, how he quickly undressed immediately he told me he'll rectify it, I sat straight when I felt someone coming, the gift giving ceremony would start once the sun goes down, and the preparation was already ongoing.

Lyn warned me from doing anything today, she told me to rest after screaming that I have the glow, I rolled my eyes at her and she said when Bas has the glow of just mated mates.

"Kathryn dear." I woke up from my reminiscing when I heard my mom's voice, I turned around and she stood at the staircase smiling at me,I smiled back as I stood up.

"Don't worry I'm coming down, you just look extremely beautiful, and you're glowing, I couldn't help but smile." She said and I blushed, she is the second person telling me I'm glowing.

"Oh right, do you know where your brother is, he's supposed to go get the gift to give you." She said scanning the house, I joined her in searching for Dylan, but I didn't see him anywhere.

"He must be with the other guys." I said and she shook her head.

"I don't think so, I saw Bas at the basement saying he has something to do, something about scanning the area, and he's glowing as well, damn." She said and I flushed, biting my lips.

"Oh, maybe he's with Matteo or Gabriel." I said and she shook her head, and I raised my brows in question, if he wasn't with them, where the heck was he?, I wondered.

"Nah, they are also at the basement with Bas." She replied still searching.

"I don't know where Dylan would be mom, maybe he went to get the gift and he isn't back yet or something." I shrugged sitting down.

"Yeah maybe, but he shouldn't take this long, as much as everything is starting by evening, we still haven't finished preparing yet, so he needs to come back here," she said waving to the maid who just came down with a tray of juice to come over.

"Good morning ma'am." She bowed to us both and I nodded.

"Morning dear, have you seen Sir Dylan anywhere today?" She asked and I shook my head, mom and her overprotectiveness should be studied.

"Yes, but he left earlier, I'm not sure he's back." She replied leaving us when my mother waved her off after mummuring "thanks" to her.

"You know what, I'll go look for your dad." She said and I shook my head laughing.

"What's funny Kathryn?" She asked with a glare.

"Nothing mom, nothing at all." I said shrugging and she shook her head leaving me, I smiled sitting down heaving a sigh of relief, Lyn was right I really needed rest, not that I did anything that should make me rest, but I needed it before the event started, I'll be tired after the event.

I laid back down on the sofa and smiled, I didn't know why I am so happy, but I knew it has to so with Bas mostly, and with everything happening, I just feel this blissful happiness in me, and it's amazing, it really feels good, I wonder what would be the storm after this calm I am feeling, I don't know why it just came into my mind, but I felt like something is brewing somewhere, lurking around and it would be the storm after this calm, it made the happiness I felt earlier tone down a notch, and the storm I felt is coming made me uneasy, I sigh and sat straight looking for anything that would make me feel comforted right now.

Suddenly I felt something soothing me, a warm caress, I could hear words whispered, "you're alright Kath, you're alright." I gasped at the sudden calmness I felt, I looked around for Bas, wondering if he's somewhere in the room, and he could see how I looked with the way I sat up, but I couldn't see him, but I suddenly remembered something, last night we mated for real, we are not binded together, we can feel what eachother are feeling,and that's why he could feel my uneasiness too and he calmed me down immediately.

"Thank you." I whispered back in my mind.

"You're welcome sweetheart." He said and I smiled, I felt the connection sever, I was sure he went back to what he was doing, I smiled as I felt the peace return to me, and I smiled again lying back down immediately.

"There you are, I was looking for you." I heard Lyn's voice and I sighed rolling my eyes, so much for the peace I was feeling earlier, she'll definitely disturb me, it was now noon,as I checked the clock.

"Yeah, here I am." I replied and she shook her head dragging me up, I followed her sluggishly.

I paused when I heard the door open and Dylan walked in with a smile, "hey sister." He said and I smiled at him.

"Hey brother, mom has been looking for you." I said and he nodded.

"Yeah, I saw her outside waiting at the gate, and damn you're really glowing, even my friend is glowing, mating really looks good on you both." He said walking upstairs.

"See I didn't lie." Lyn said and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah yeah, you didn't." I nodded.

"Let's get you prepared, it's almost time." She said and I sighed following her to my room.

The gift giving ceremony finally started I could hear the music playing, I sighed as I stared at Lyn who kept complaining about how she was sure everything will go as planned, complaining about how tired she is, "hey sweetie, thanks for everything, you still have one more event to plan, so buckle up." I said rubbing her shoulders.

"I know right, I'm so tired , but I'm honoured and happy doing this for you both." She said and I nodded, I knew she enjoyed it, though there's no way she won't be tired.

I peeked at the audience and I sighed, I was sitted behind a curtain on the stage I and Bas would seat, I haven't seen Bas yet, though Lyn told me he's coming soon, I could hear Matteo's voice, he is the MC for today's occasion, the guests laughing, Matteo is naturally funny, I'm sure he would make them laugh and forget everything, I'm so nervous, I clutched my gown,when I heard the voices, Lyn told me we have more than 2000 guests.

I rubbed my hands on my dress nervously, I felt large hands touch mine and I turned and saw Bas smile at me, "sorry I'm late." He said and I nodded, he looks so good, I wish I look as good as him, his suit, the way he styled his hair, he nodded to Lyn who typed in her phone immediately.

"And now ladies and gentlemen, and children," he paused, "welcome the new couple to the gift giving ceremony, Sebastien and Kathryn." He added and I could hear the clap, I turned around and realized Lyn left, the curtains opened and we sat on the same place on stage, he held my hands tightly and smiled at me, I smiled at him.

"See, they are already eye," Matteo said looking around, "there are kids here,but you know what those two are doing with their eyes." He said and everyone laughed, I shook my head.

"I mean, in all the years I've known my friend, I've never seen this glow on him, jeez I never knew he could have a glow." He said he everyone laughed.

"I have Kathryn to thank for that, thanks for girlie." He said and I nodded and everyone laughed.

"Now, I'm sure everyone knows why we're here, we are congratulating them on mating, and we'll give them gifts according to our good ol' traditions," he said, "so whatever gift you have, you keep at the the table up there." He pointed to the table down the stage closer to where I and Bas sat.

"And we need to be quick about this, we have kids here anyways, so we'll go home early." He said and everyone nodded.

"And while you're giving your gifts, there's refreshments for everyone, thanks." He said coming down from the stage to pick his gift.

"I know the parents of the man and woman should start, but imma start first." He said and everyone laughed, he dropped his gift.

"Let the ceremony begin." He said congratulating us and going down.
