Chapter One Hundred and Fifty Seven

Claire POV

I can paint the look on Victor face it's so priceless, am convince right now that I have someone that will help me with George but all I have to do is to paint Sarah as the one at fault not George. Victor am aware that you are shocked and feel played but I want to tell you something before you take any action, I started trying to tell him who to go after. Victor sat up and looked at me, Claire am grateful to you for the information you just gave me now but I think I don't want to talk more about this issue cause I need to clear my head, Victor said to me.

I know he is so disoriented now but I don't think there is any time to waste, cause I think the more I let George and Sarah to be the more they will fall for each other and it will be very difficult to separate them. That's why I have to do everything I have to do through Victor since my parents imprisoned me here all in the name of vacation. Listen Victor, I know how you feel and you need all the time to think through but I don't think this is time for thinking, I said looking at Victor to know what he will say or do but the latter just kept quiet.

I continued to say what exactly on my mind cause I took his silent as him telling me to continue with what am saying. I know how you feel but I want to tell you that your cousin George is not the one you should mad at but his little girlfriend, I told him. He looked at me showing that what I just said now got his interest. And why will you said that I should not be mad at George if what you told me is true? Victor asked me but I can tell that he know that am not bluffing or trying to cook up a story. Well since you are doubting what I told you, I will suggest you call your father and confirm from him, I said nonchalantly.

Victor gulped when I mentioned his father, am sure he is aware that his father will surely skin him alive the moment he will set his eyes on him. Let's say I believe what you told me but can you explain to me how I can't be mad at George but his girlfriend, Victor asked me. I smiled internally cause this is the opening I was looking forward to. This is a long story but I don't mind summarizing it for you, I told Victor. Sure go ahead am all ears, Victor said encouraging me to go ahead with my story.

You see Sarah Croft and your cousin are in a relationship for a while now but your auntie George mother is against the relationship because Sarah is George assistant. You and I know what happened the last time George dated his assistant it ended in disaster, I intentionally stopped to gauge how Victor is taking the story so far and he seemed to be in deep thought probably thinking through what I told him so far. I decided to continue with my story telling, Sarah who is so desperate to be with your cousin took the money her father kept for her before he died and approach you for your shares when she heard that you want to sell your shares, I pause again and looked at him. God I don't know that am such a good story teller, I think I should consider writing as a profession.

I still don't understand what your story is all about cause they are not making any sense to me, Victor said. Am now doubting if this guy is ready to be my ally cause so far he seemed to me as a guy who is not ambitious at all but I will still try and see how it goes. Geez stop interrupting the story is not finish yet, I said to him which he nodded urging me to continue. Well you might be wondering why Sarah have to go through all that trouble of buying the shares from you, that is because my father met with Mrs Vincent and proposed a marriage between her son and I which Mrs Vincent is ready to accept if not because of her son who insisted that Sarah is the lady he want to spend the rest of his life with.

When my father heard that George reject the proposed engagement because of another girl who have no background but only the money her father left for her, he was so furious and threatened Mrs Vincent that he will withdraw his support if her son will not change his mind and do what is right. Mrs Vincent told her son about the threat she received from my father, which made George to accept to the proposed engagement but that cunning woman was able to convince him that she can help him out not knowing that she already purchased the shares from you. 

George back off from the engagement which infuriated my father and spur him to side with your father in order to show George and his mother that he is serious about his threat but instead of George and his mother to get the shock of their life. It was my father and your father that got shocked and your father was more shocked because you sold your shares without telling him anything about it and that is why I am here to get away from all the unnecessary noise, I finished my story while patting myself for job well done. I must say that am really mad at that lady and also myself for allowing myself to be use and that cost my father his long time dream but I still need time to think this all through, Victor said. I wonder what else he want to think about but I think I should stop now and give him the space he requested for.
