Not the final form

Cael's reckless charge made him miss a branch that attacked from behind. The force of the blow threw Cael into the air, but he recouped quickly.

All his concentration was on his magic. One more bloodletting spell!

But before Cael could finish it, a tree root grabbed his leg. To free himself, Cael had to abandon the spell and cut off the root with a wind blade.

Then another branch smacked Cael into a tree trunk. In the last moment, he twisted his body, shielding his wings. As he hit the stone-like bark, Cael heard a sickening crunch in his shoulder. His right hand went limp.

'No… this is a fool's errand. Not without better defense. I bit more than I can chew!' Cael thought, moving from his spot a moment before the centipede's head landed upon it in a crushing attack.

With a single jerk, Cael fixed the dislocated shoulder and let his System deal with the rest. Then he beat his wings, flying directly upwards like an arrow shot from a bow.
