CHAPTER FIVE

I woke up to the sound of shattering plates, i couldn't place if it was coming from the kitchen or from the door. I tried to get up and i had a thundering headache but i pushed the pain aside and got up anyways.I walked towards the door and twisted the doorknob and then i realized 'Leo locked me in'.

Maybe he thought i would leave the house and go 'slutting around'. Sometimes i wonder why he was so desperate to marry me when he doesn't trust me and i doubt if he even loves me. He would have just left me crying on the bridge that day, why did he offer me a job and court me until i agreed to marry him?, why did tell me he would make sure i never had to worry about anything?, why?.

I felt a tear drop on my laps and i realized that i had been crying and also i was naked. I walked over to my wardrobe and put on a robe before sitting on my bed.

I checked my phone and saw 12 missed calls from Thomas. I instantly felt anger boiling up in me, he is the reason why i am in this state, why did he have to call me, but whenever i look at it another way i find myself thanking him for opening my eyes to know the kind of man i have as a husband.

But still, he has no right to call me, and how in the world did he get my goddamn number. I have to settle it all with him today and in fact right now!. I called him back and he answered immediately "Hey sister-in-law" i heard him say from the other line and couldn't help but stop and wonder how two peoples voice can sound so alike.

"Why did you call?" i asked trying to sound calm but i was anything but that.

"Do i need a reason to call my sister-in-law now?"

"How did you get my number?"

"I have ways"

"Why can't you let me be"

"I believe I'm not holding you"

"Why are you being annoying right now?!" i asked through gritted teeth.

"I think someone had a rough night, but I'm sure your used to it, my brother can be a bit rough in bed" when i realized the meaning of his words i felt myself blush but i immediately recovered.

"Just stop it Thomas, because of you i had a really tough night, so do me a favor and delete my number and i would do the same to yours, understood!" i said before cutting the line.

"What are you waiting for?"

I heard a voice say, not just any voice, Leo's voice. I turned around and saw him leaning on the door with his arms and legs crossed and those ocean blue eyes looking at me, those same eyes that made me forget why i was angry and what i was angry about, those eyes really did wonders to me. I instantly looked down feeling a bit shy, but why did he ask me that question, did he perhaps overhear my conversation with Thomas or is he talking about something else?.

"Today is Monday, you have work. Make sure to get dressed and i don't want to reach the office before you, and before i get there make sure all files would be prepared for the next meeting" he turned around to leave but stopped and faced me once again "And make sure you wear something decent" he said as his eyes landed on my bare thighs, then he looked at my eyes before walking away.

He sounded so cool, like he didn't leave me naked laying on the bare floor like just a few hours ago. And now i have to put up with in work. Ughhh!, why does my entire life activities revolve around him?.

I got down from the taxi and quickly paid him before rushing out. I had only 3 minutes before Leo would be here, seems like i wasted a lot of time dressing up. But why do i always take my time to attract Leo when he doesn't care for me?.

I pushed that thought aside and quickly went in the office. The MARTÍNEZ INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUNDS ORGANIZATION, with Leo being the C.E.O and i being his secretary.

I walked in and was greeted by the receptionist, Maya, a very well mannered girl if you ask me, followed by other greetings as i walked my way to my office right next to Leo's.

Everyone in the office is aware of my marriage and that's the number one reason they respect me so much, plus if anyone dares to disrespect me Leo always find a way to come right in and protect me. At least he fulfills that duty as a husband.

I sat on my desk and ordered coffee for Leo, it's already a habit, every morning i make coffee for him in the office but today i ordered because i didn't have enough time. I quickly sorted out the files and went to Leo's office and placed it on his desk along with his coffee. Feeling happy that i was able to do all this things before Leo's arrival, i went back to my desk to start for the day.

"Good morning sir"

I got disturbed with the continuous greetings, yes, this is how it is whenever Leo arrives, continuous greetings everywhere, I'm telling you that each of the 126 employees were have makes sure to greet him, some may even greet twice!

I got up from my desk when i heard his footsteps getting louder which is a sign he is coming in this direction. I quickly adjusted my suit and my skirt making sure my hair bun is still in place. "Good morning sir" I greeted as he walked by, but he didn't stop to look at me with those ocean blue eyes like he always do and that almost made me break.

Almost!

But i didn't break, i stood strong for my sake, i can't continue expecting things from him, because I've come to the knowledge that he never meets up my expectations.
