Unexpectedly Worried About You

The hour had finally arrived. We thought he was joking when he talked about a helicopter but Virel was right, a helicopter was on its way for us. After having that discussion with Jang Sik's grandma, I was ready to leave. Ra Ra was with me in her sunglasses and Jin Ho as well as Virel had all dressed up like cool city guys.

Jang Sik and the three women who were always with him, accompanied us to the helicopter platform where we were going to get our ride. These three women were his mom, sister and wife.

Once we got to the platform, we spotted the helicopter flying in midheaven.

Jang Sik's mother approached me and asked: "Are you finally leaving?"

"Yes grandma. Thanks for everything", I said to her.

"Amy, don't forget my advice", she said. "I will treasure them with all my heart", I replied.

Just then, the helicopter after going in circles landed on the heavy ground.

"You can go. The more time you waste, the more I will miss you", she confessed.

"Grandma", I said softly and gave the old woman a big warm hug.

"Bye!" I said before letting go.

"Bye!!! We'll miss you!" Jang Sik shouted to us all as we made it for the flying machine.

Jin Ho looked at Jang Sik and made a silly comment. He told the teary man: "Jang Sik, if you continue crying then people might think you are my boyfriend."

But without caring about anything, he shouted out loud, "I love you."

"That was so cheesy. Let's go, let's go", Jin Ho encouraged us as we headed into the copter.

After we had taken our seats, Jang Sik ran towards us and told Jin Ho: "Jin Ho, make sure to treasure yesterday's moment! Never forget it!" He exclaimed.

Virel looked at his best friend and asked him: "What happened yesterday?"

Ra Ra, who was not responsible for the question, casually said: "Ah, the kiss".

"What kiss?" V asked and Jin Ho told the pilot: "Let's go."

My first experience flying in midheaven was amazing. And what made it more special was that I had a great partner seated next to me, Jin Ho was right by my side.

Honestly, when the copter took off, my heart took off as well. And instead of admiring the earth's beauty from above, I had closed my eyes tightly and clenched my fist out of fear. But when Jin Ho saw how scared I was, he took hold of my manager.

"Amy", he suddenly whispered my name and said: "I think you are missing something wonderfully beautiful. It's time to open your eyes."

I listened to him and opened my eyes. Looking out the window, I saw an amazing landscape that I had only seen on TV, especially in documentaries. But now, I was living the moment.

Jin Ho also looked through the window and smiled as he saw me enjoying the scenery.

I told him: "It's so pretty", and he also said the same words.

"Very beautiful indeed", he said but wasn't staring at the scenery which he had seen countless times. Rather, he had his eyes on me.

At this point, Ra Ra would have definitely intervened in our interaction, but she had been kept busy by Virel. The two were also having their personal conversation.

The highlight of their conversation was when V asked her: "How can you go to work right after a stressful day?"

"If I don't, I would lose my job", she replied.

"And where exactly do you work? I hope you don't mind me asking", he added.

"Crexe. I work at their headquarters", she replied. Virel shook his head and sat properly. A few seconds later, he stared at her and said: "Be strong. Things will get better at your workplace."

After that ride, I was in a taxi heading home. Everyone had gone elsewhere. Ra Ra had returned to work, V went to get some stuff at the college he attended and Jin Ho also had something to deal with.

Therefore, I was on my own as I headed home. The cab pulled over in front of the door which gave me joy.

Without waiting for me to come in, mom came out through the door and hurried towards me.

"Amy!" She called my name as she approached me. Once the tires of the cab resumed motion, mom had already gotten to my standpoint.

"Mom, I missed you so much", I said as I opened my arms and accepted an embrace from her.

"You bad child, where have you been?" She asked whilst concealing her tears.

"I'm sorry mom", I apologized.

After we had gone inside, I couldn't see dad and Poppy. I was about to ask but mom looked restless even though I had arrived.

I was sitting on the couch whilst she faced me.

After taking a deep breath, she said: "At least you should have called. Why did you make me so worried? I even thought that something bad had happened to you."

I hardly saw mom cry but this time she couldn't hold it back. I stood up and embraced her once more.

"I'm sorry mom", I cried in reply.

"Are you sure that you are okay?" She asked in verification.

After ending the hug, I placed my hands on her shoulders and told her: "Nothing happened to me Mom. Nothing happened thanks to Jin Ho", I said unknowingly.

"Did you just say Jin Ho?" Dad, who was right behind us, asked and I realized my mistake.

"Who's he?" Mom asked. Just then, Poppy, who was with dad and had overheard the name Jin Ho asked: "Sister, is he your new boyfriend?"

Mom and dad looked at me with lots of questions in their eyes and I definitely had to change the subject. Hence, I used my sister as my source of escape.

"Aren't you supposed to be in school by now?" I asked my troublemaker sister.

"Aish, sister, how could you remind them?" She complained.

Mom shouted at her saying: "Hey, hurry up and go to school. If you rank last in your exams again, I will open your head and place the book inside."

My younger sister was dragging her feet as she walked out of the hall. But in order to speed her up, I said: "Poppy? She means it."

"Whatever!" She threw tantrums like a kid but still went to get dressed.

It seemed like I had succeeded until mom said: "Daughter, you can't avoid the question. Who is Jin Ho?"

My mom had always been this way, but couldn't she have battered an eye over this?

Anyway, I replied back saying: "He's a guy I met."

"A guy you met?" Dad asked back and I explained it in a very weird manner.

"I broke up with Min Ki", I revealed.

"What?" Mom was surprised. "When?" Dad asked.

Bowing my head down, I quietly said: "Monday."

"Why?" Mom asked and I explained it to her by saying: "He had been cheating all along."

"That son of a…." Mom nearly uttered that word, but dad stopped her immediately.

"Honey, don't swear, please don't", he begged her. Mom then asked me: "Is that why you didn't come home?"

"Yes. I wanted to clear my head", I replied.

"And Jin Ho helped you clear your head?" Dad asked right after mom's question and I ended up saying: "Yes. I mean… he had a part to play. Ra Ra helped me a lot."

"I want to meet this Jin Ho guy. And beat up that Min Ki guy", Dad said.

"Daughter, go to your room and rest up. You look very tired", mom finally gave me what I needed.

"Alright mom", I mentioned.

After I had left, dad looked at mom and said, "Jin Ho. Did she ever mention Min Ki's name at home?"

"No, we heard his name from Ra Ra", mom replied and added, "But this time, she mentioned this guy's name without thinking."

Dad then joined the pieces together by asking: "Honey, are you saying that our daughter might be…"

"In love", mom concluded.

Instead of resting as mom suggested, I sat on my bed and started thinking about Jin Ho. Without a reason, I was unnecessarily worried about him.

"Did he get home safely?" I wondered. And at his apartment, he also sat on his couch wondering: "Did she safely get home? What if they are asking her so many questions? Should I have gone with her?"

And I also asked myself: "Did he eat? He always ate little at the table."

"Is she resting?" Jin Ho asked himself.

"Should I text him?" I was curious for the answers to my questions.

"Should I call her?" Jin Ho wondered.

We were both confused and asked ourselves in our respective locations: "What should I do?"

At her workplace, Ra Ra knew that things wouldn't go so smoothly. And it wasn't surprising when she heard the Managing Director call her through a PA system whilst shouting. He said: "Miss Oh Ra Ra, come to my office right now!"

Once she was in, he asked her: "Why didn't you come to work yesterday?"

"I'm sorry, there was an emergency to take care of", she replied.

"An emergency more important than your job? I see. You do know that there are many people in search of a job, don't you?

Get yourself together or else… you already know. Leave. I'm done with you", he mentioned.

Ra Ra clenched her fist and in her imagination, used this fist to punch the annoying Managing Director's nose.

But in reality, all she said was, "Yes sir."

V was also worried about Ra Ra. He was done at the college and was heading outside. As he walked on the walkway, he continued thinking about her. "How's she doing? How can she go to work right away? I even missed class and plan on missing it for two more days. Can she manage the stress?" He asked himself.

However, a loud voice interfered with his thoughts. "Buy one get one free!" A peddler was selling and promoting his product. V drew near this man, quite curious to know more about his product.

"What's that?" V asked the peddler.

"Stress candy", he replied.

"Stress candy?" V asked again. The man explained saying: "It's best to chew it on a stressful day. As you crush the candy in your mouth, you imagine crushing whoever is stressing you out. Once you are done, you will be relieved."

Upon hearing the usefulness of the candy, V said to the man: "Give me the whole box."

"What?" He was surprised but came to his senses quickly. "Right, right. The whole box? You can have it. You can even have the table", he added jokingly as he handed the box of candies to V. "How much is it?" V asked.

"Forty dollars", the peddler replied and V gave out a fifty dollar bill.

"Here's your change", the man said. "Keep it", V replied.

"Thanks!" The peddler was grateful. Filled with excitement, the peddler jumped into the air as he happily said: "I can't believe that I sold it in one shot."

He then added: "Continue being stressful and come next time."
