The Second Wave: Destruction Of Evidence

In a resort on a faraway island, a young man stood before a swimming pool with a glass of wine in his hands. He was in a white robe and his physique was one of a kind. As he sipped the wine in very little quantities, a female approached him. She was holding a large tablet and bowed down her head in greetings, to the young man. She then said: "CEO, I have something to report to you."

"What is it?" He asked without looking at her.

"It's about your cousin", she said. Upon hearing her say cousin, he turned around and prepared his ears to hear her out.

The lady then started playing a video on her tablet. She showed the video to her boss and he saw a news report. The reporter was saying: "Breaking News: Zerogate Factory's CEO, Mr Joon Jin Ho has been accused of leading his company in not paying taxes to the nation. The prosecution are currently investigating the…"

He stopped the video and handed the tablet back to the lady who happened to be his secretary.

"Won't you listen to it?" She asked and the boss, who hardly uttered a word, asked: "Is he truly my cousin?"

"What?" She was baffled by his question.

Yet, he went on to ask: "Are you my secretary or a news reporter?"

Seeing that she was in the wrong, she quickly said: "I'm sorry sir. I won't repeat this mistake again." Her apology was really meant.

The young CEO replied to her saying: "Don't worry, there won't be a second time."

All of a sudden, he walked towards her and she slowly went back. Drawing his face closer to hers, he whispered: "You… are… beautiful."

His words hit her like lightning until he added: "Beautiful enough to gain a job elsewhere. You are fired." He said and left.

The lady stood all by herself and after some seconds, the information sank into her heart. As he walked along the resort, this time in his usual suit, the young CEO asked himself: "How did he fall into such a lame trap?"

His male assistant then asked him: "Sir, should I look into your adopted cousin's case?"

The CEO continued walking without giving a reply.

And at the police station, someone was also refusing to give an answer.

The prosecutor was getting angrier as he ventured out his frustration on Jin Ho. "Mr Joon Jin Ho, answer me. For the past three years, have you been evading taxes?" The prosecutor asked.

"Mr Joon Jin Ho!" He shouted at him as he heard no response.

Jin Ho had no time for his questions. Rather, as he sat in the interrogation room, he kept wondering: "What is going on? Why do I feel like I'm in a spiderweb? I need to think straight. First of all, Virel realized that things were weird at the NIS. He even said that there might be an insider. Who could it be?" He kept making the analysis in his head.

His uncle, on the other hand, had just stepped out of his office with the police officers. Once they got to the compound of the NIS, Mr Ri Won Taek stumbled and nearly fell. He then bent down and told the officers: "Sorry, my shoelace got untied." He mentioned and began to tie them up.

As he did this, he turned a button on his shoe on.

V was with me at that time. We had left the company and we were in a room of a hotel which was directly opposite Jin Ho's. V looked outside the window with nothing extraordinary than a piece of eyeglasses.

But this was not an ordinary eyeglass. With it, V could see everything from afar.

"What's going on?" I asked him.

"Backup. They are bringing in more backup. And Jin Ho's room is under search", he replied.

"Then, how do we get in?" I asked him and he told me: "We don't have to go inside ourselves. We can just send Butterfly."

"Butterfly?" I didn't get him at the time. But once he took out a little butterfly out of his bag, I slowly began to understand his plan.

"Listen Amy. I will send Butterfly over to Jin Ho's room. Once it is inside, we will search for the evidence. All we need to find is a USB which contains the company's financial details", he explained.

"Then what do we do after finding it?" I asked.

"Get it out somehow", he replied. Virel then let go of the butterfly in his hand and moved towards the building opposite ours. The little insect kept flying above everyone's head and none of the officers suspected a thing. With so much ease, it entered the room and Virel continued to navigate it around the room.

As Jin Ho's uncle was heading to the police station, he realized that something was off. The car wasn't moving in the direction of the station but was using a totally different route.

Mr Ri Won Taek tightened his fists and told the driver: "Hey, it seems like you missed the route."

The two officers alongside the driver all decided not to pay any attention to him.

"Where are you taking me to?" He asked them and they didn't mind him.

Finally, the driver told the officer in the backseat: "Silence him already, won't you? He's so loud."

The officer then tried to cover the Deputy Chief's nose with a cloth. But this was too lame for such an experienced security analyst.

Therefore, Jin Ho's uncle stole the cloth from the officer and placed it on his own nose.

"What are you doing?" the officer in the front asked with a raging heart and stepped out of the car to fight the NIS agent.

But once he tried to open the door, Jin Ho's uncle kept it from opening. And once he saw that the officer was using his whole strength on the door, he just kicked it open. The officer fell to the ground and Mr Ri Won Taek ordered the driver saying: "Get out and leave the keys behind."

The driver pretended to obey the instruction but suddenly, took out a gun and pointed it at himself, or so it seemed. He was going to point the gun at Mr Ri Won Taek but before he realized, his opponent rather had the gun in his hand.

"Now get out", Mr Ri Won Taek ordered and the driver ran out of the police car.

Jin Ho's uncle then started the car and drove off at full speed. After freeing himself from the bad guys, Mr Ri Won Taek called Virel on the phone.

"Hello Master", he received the call.

"Virel, where are you?" His teacher asked him. In reply, he said: "I'm close to Jin Ho's apartment. Why do you ask?" V inquired.

"That's good. Make sure to get the USB which contains his freedom from the safe", Jin Ho's uncle told him.

"The USB is in the safe?" V asked.

"Yes. I am heading to the station right now. Make sure to get there as soon as possible. Do you understand?"

"Yes master", V replied. At this point, we had to be fast in order to save Jin Ho.

After receiving full knowledge of the exact location of the evidence, V moved the butterfly around the apartment, in search of the safe and finally we found it.

But we had a little problem: Discovering its password. I knew that Jin Ho loved me very much so I decided to use my birthday and see if it would work. After telling Virel my date of birth, he punched in the numbers but they were not it. He then used a software of his and soon discovered it.

"Yes, I found it", he rejoiced after that feat. I was also very happy and looked at the number carefully. That's when I realized that the numbers matched the day we first met.

The officers were still in the building, hence we had to be careful in order not to look suspicious. V then thought of an idea.

"Amy, I think I know how we can get Jin Ho out easily", he said whilst curling a beautiful smile across his face.

"What are you going to do?" I asked and he said: "Blow your mind."

In a second, he sent all the officers an anonymous message indicating that the evidence was in the safe. They all went to open the safe but couldn't do so since they didn't know the password. Hence, V unlocked it by himself. But since they were trying to unlock it, they thought that they had done the job.

We watched them through Virel's laptop and laughed as we saw them rejoice that they had decrypted the password.

After they took the USB out, V said: "Now, it's showtime."

The NIS agent with a scar was at the scene and he told the others to hand him the USB. Since he was the one with the most authority, he received the USB from their hands.

After gaining all the evidence that they wanted, they left the scene.

And that's when the NIS agent with the scar made a call. On the phone, he told the recipient: "Sir, I have gotten the evidence. I would get rid of it right this moment and replace it with a fake one. Sure thing sir."

V looked at him carefully and muttered: "Scar, this will be your end."

Scar went to the police station with lots of smiles around his face. But once he entered, Jin Ho's uncle awaited him with a handcuff.

"Officers, he's here", he said to the policemen and they quickly cuffed him.

"Let go of me. What's going on?" He asked and Jin Ho came to meet him.

"Scar, why did you do it?" Jin Ho asked him.

"I don't know what the f*** you are talking about, okay? Just let me go", he said restlessly.

"Show him the video", Mr Lee or Mr Ri Won Taek instructed.

The video was shown to him and he saw himself declaring that he was going to destroy the evidence. Aside from that, all the three officers who had come for Jin Ho's uncle had also testified against him.

It seemed like the true villains were pushing the entire blame on him.

"Get him out of here", Jin Ho told the officers and Scar was taken away. Since Virel told me not to come inside, I kept on waiting for them outside.

My feet were aching to make that run towards the one I loved. But they weren't coming out so I was about to go in when suddenly, the door opened and out came Jin Ho. With the fastest of feet, I ran hastily to meet the man of my life, and before I could get to him, I jumped and embraced him in midair, wrapping my legs around his waist.

"Jin Ho, I was really scared", I cried after seeing him free.

"I'm sorry for making you so worked up", he apologized.

"Ahem! We are in front of a police station", Jin Ho's uncle stated.

But Virel told him: "Master, let them be. At least, they are not kissing."

His statement got us and some officers standing in front of the station to burst out in laughter.

At the resort, the young CEO saw the news update. It said that Jin Ho had been cleared of all the charges. After hearing this news, he made a call and said over the phone in English: "Hi, it's me, Joseph June. I will be returning to South Korea next week. Make the best arrangements for me. Thank you!"
