A leisurely low laugh came from the other end of the phone. "Lacey, what are you nervous about? If my brother is fine, can't you find my sister?"
I hate Kody's sinister smile. I bit my lip and said, "Kody, we are no longer kids from five years ago. We have our own lives now. I beg you, please let us go!"
I don't want to touch the hell he gave me a second time.
"Lacey, we are brother and sister. How can we bear to let you leave me? Without you, I can't live alone. I need you!" These words could make people feel warm, but there was a chill and coldness coming out of his mouth.
My heart was in a mess. Holding the phone, I said in a hoarse voice, "Kody, what do you want?"
The existence of a ghost-like person would only make one feel fearful. Kody was such a person.
"You!" A sinister word was spat out, and the phone was hung up by him.
Before I could calm down, I received a message from him. "Lacey, 4 o'clock on Harlin Road. Remember to arrive on time."
