In the coffee shop.

The music was light and slow. After ordering a glass of juice, Ace looked at me with a little impatience. "What can I do for you?"

"Do you hate me because of Camilla or something else?" I asked, sounding as if I was chatting.

He paused for a moment and then smiled. "You're looking for me just to talk about this?"

I shook my head. "No!"

"It's just a casual question." I was not in good spirits and said, "People always have to look forward. Dylan and I are already married. It's a done deal. You like Camilla. Since that's the case, why don't you express your feelings and be together?"

"Have you said enough?" He frowned and was very unhappy. "Lacey, what kind of position do you put yourself in? Do you think you are an omnipotent heroine? Can others go all the way to the big end just because of your words?"

I lowered my eyes and stopped talking.
