Chapter 92

I stop and sit back on the ground, holding my side. This pain is unbearable! I put my hand up to show Mr. Hallowell I mean him no harm. He looks at my blood-soak hand. It’s evident I am no threat to him, seeing as though I may be minutes away from death.

I am going to open my mouth. However, the sound of furniture breaks above us, taking with it my thoughts.

LeAnn!

“Is it true you kidnapped my daughter?”

I look up over at Mr. Hallowell and nod.

“You were supposed to kill her? Is that true?” Mr. Hallowell’s hand is shaking, not of fright but of rage.

I nod again, looking at the ground. “I deserve this. Trust me, I know. I’m a monster that should be put out of my misery. This, however, isn’t the time or place to do it. I have to get to LeAnn and Sam.” I look up at him.
