Chapter 2

I blink a little after the light disappears from my vision. I look around for a few seconds and smile a little. I am back. I can see that I get transported into the same place I was before.

Right. The wish. I hear about the first rank on Earth wishing for the ability to increase his undead army to unlimited. It is a powerful wish, but the man is too arrogant for his own good and starts to kill people without thinking twice. The result is that the entire world moves against him and kills him using powerful holy magic.

I shake my head and look around for a moment. I am standing in an oasis in the middle of a sand desert. [Moonlight Oasis] is the starting point for me. It is not the best starting point, as the fertile land is rather small.

However, there is a reason why it is called [Moonlight Oasis]. When a full moon appears, it will show me a little secret. Each territory has this kind of secret. As long as you survive long enough and notice something from the clue the system gives you, you can find the secret to help your survival.

Sadly, humans are stupid.

I shake my head and start to put down all the boxes, bags, and even grocery bags on the ground. My left hand carries a gallon of water that I carry on my shoulder, while my right hand holds a toolbox filled to the brim with tools that I can think of. My neck is full of grocery bags hanging around it, full of food and water. Two bags are hanging on my back and front.

I shake my head and open one of the bags. I take out a saw and walk to the nearby tree. I start to sawing the tree and walk away when it is about to fall. As I watch the tree fall, I harvest the date for later use. It can last quite long as long as I store them properly.

I push the log away and wipe the sweat from my forehead. This damn sun is killing me. I shake my head and walk to the date palm stump before activating my first authority.

"Grow! Your lord commands it!"

After I say that, the date palm grows in a second, and I can see another batch of date fruit growing from the tree.

This is one of the reasons why I have lasted in this place. I did not need to worry about fruit and could feed my summoned people under me. Eating dates for the first week is something that I will not forget in my life. It changes when I get wheat seeds from Monster Drops, and my diet changes into fruit and bread.

I shake my head and walk to the log. I start to cut them to a certain length and see a notification appear in front of me.

I look at the system in shock because this is the first time I have heard about this. Usually, you only get one cubic meter of inventory. However, I now have two cubic meters of inventory with this upgrade.

I shake my head and walk toward the edge of the lake. I take a deep breath and say.

"Building system!"

A second later, I saw a list of buildings I could create at my current level, and I quickly picked the thing called [Lord's Hut]. Ten logs disappeared from my inventory a second later, and suddenly, a small wooden house appeared near the lake.

This will be my future palace the more I upgrade it. This will be where I sleep for now. I open the door and see nothing but a bed made of hay inside. Lucky for me, I bring a hammock with me. I did not need to torture my body on that thing. I still remember how itchy that thing was.

When my hut is done, I bring all my tools and other things inside the hut. I remove everything that needs to be removed from my bags and toolbox. With all the tools, I start to work to make this hut good for me.

I wipe away the sweat from my forehead. I put the solar panel above my hut and plugged it into the battery bank I had bought before coming here. The solar panel will be useful for charging the cordless power tools later. I will use them to build something that the system did not give me through the building system.

Not only that, but I also already installed the filtration system I bought, and currently, it is filtrating water from the lake. In my previous life, I drank water without filtration and only boiled it. It did not kill me, but it caused some stomach aches back in the day.

I shake my head and take the machete I bring from Earth. It is already sharpened and ready to use. This area is currently protected by a barrier that will last for a week. No monster, no matter how strong, cannot go through the barrier. Because of this, they usually never get too close to the barrier.

However, I have a plan.

The barrier is one of the biggest tools to hunt monsters. With the correct item, I can lure the monster to get near the barrier and attack them from the inside. I take the plastic box from my bag and walk one hundred meters away from my hut. This is the edge of the barrier. It did not look like it, but I had already memorized the barrier after accidentally leaving it too many times.

I opened the plastic box and smiled a little when I saw the innard of animals that I had bought. I place them just behind the barrier and wait for it to work. A few seconds later, I can see a cloud of dust in the distance.

"Here they are."

I can see three kinds of monsters coming toward the barrier. The first one is a sand snake with a head shaped like an arrow, and the snake has wings coming out of its body. The second one is a one-meter-tall scorpion with blood-red armor that covers most of its body. It has two pincers, but the right one is bigger than the left one and has a massive tail that can pierce the human body. The third one is a worm, a sandworm. It has teeth that spin around its mouth like a grinder. I jumped out and into the sand as it swam toward me.

I smile a little as my plan is working. The monsters in this place love innards. All kinds of innards. I know this after I throw an innard of a fish I caught from the lake after getting a fishing rod from monster loot. They will chase after the innard, making it a perfect bait and distraction tool I store for later use.

When their bodies slam into the barrier, I confirm the exact position of the barrier, mark it, and thrust my machete at the monsters. The first one is the scorpion. I thrust my blade into its face, which was not protected from the armor. The monster screams in pain, but I ignore it and swing my machete.

I continue to stab the monster with my weapon and see it fall to the ground. I look at the rest of the monsters and walk toward the worm that uses its body to slam the barrier. I wait for a moment while looking at the head of the worm before thrusting my machete right at the paler skin of the worm just above its mouth. With a single thrust, the worm fell to the ground, dead. That point is just above its brain. Stab it, and the worm will die. Even with this knowledge, it is hard to fight the worm, as it will spin around to move its weak point while fighting. I look at the last one and smile a little. I walk toward it and swing my machete at its head. Among the three monsters, this one is the weakest. Its power is the ability to swim in the sand freely and its ability to ambush the enemy. One stab from their head, and you will have a bad time. Even a powerful Lord is cautious against this monster when they go through a desert.

After killing the last monster, their body disappeared, leaving me with a lot of loot.

As expected. It is all garbage for a newbie lord like me. It is rather useful, but it is for the later day as I did not have any blueprint for making armor, potions, or weapons, and I did not have [Armorer], [Potion Maker], and [Blacksmith] summon that could make one for me.

I want meat. Monster meat is a rare drop; I only get it after five months.

I shake my head and grin at the incoming monster. I will think about it later. For now, I need to hunt more monsters.
