Chapter 29 : An assassin(2)

Elena, with a calm but serious gaze, looked at the wolf and chanted, "Come forth."

For a while, nothing happened. Both Aisha and the young man were paying attention, but nothing came out.

"....."

Just when Elena was about to say something else feeling slightly embarrassed, suddenly out of thin air, arrived a small cute little thing.

Its appearance, the fusion of a water elemental and a fairy. A captivating being that embodies the essence of water in its purest form. Its translucent body shimmered with iridescent hues of blue and green, reminiscent of the depths of the ocean. Delicate, gossamer wings sprout from its back, allowing it to gracefully glide through the water or soar through the air with ethereal elegance. Its presence evoked a sense of tranquility and harmony, as it channels the soothing and rejuvenating energies of water wherever it roams.

But strangely, none could enjoy such a beautiful sight since they couldn't even see or sense its presence be it Aisha, Elena's father and his comrades, the wolves or the young man behind the tree.

All of them thought that Elena was just taking nonsense when nothing happened after hearing what she said. Elena was the only one who could see this beautiful and otherworldly being.

She was stunned looking at this breathtaking being, just as she had been when she first got it. She was truly and utterly confused and bewildered when she first got Lily.

She first thought that whoever enters into that realm would get an unbelievable unique skill or a help. She herself had gotten one before, but she didn't expect that what one truly gets after they enter the realm would be a spirit; An elemental spirit. But, it wasn't that all of them gets it, but only those that get chosen by the elementals get it through the help of the Yeti or else if the elementals don't choose the one who entered it, the Yeti then helps them by giving them a unique skill of these elementals so that they wouldn't have entered there for nothing.

It wasn't that this was a common information, rather; it was a top secret knowledge known only by some. She only got to know all this after spending time with Lily for the last three days, for she was now her companion. She was the one who told her that this information was very sensitive and not to tell anyone.

'Though I wasn't the only one who got it.', Elena thought as she remembered her talk with Aisha after returning from that realm.

'Is that why it's name is the elemental realm and not something else?', her thoughts wondered away from the battle because of the spirit.

*HOWL*

The wolf provoked that its opponent has ignored it, let out a rage-filled roar and raced towards her. Its eyes filled with anger.

The roar brought Elena back to reality. She immediately said, "Lily, you ready for our first battle?"

".... Memememememe.... ", the cute little thing said in its cute little voice. If it weren't for this strange phenomenon of invisibility, it would have surely melted the hearts of everyone here, including the wolf, just as it did to Elena herself.

With a lot of effort, Elena resisted the urge to take Lily in her arms and pet her as she unsheathed her new sword and raced towards the wolf.

Elena tightened her grip on her sword, her focus solely on the approaching wolf. Lily hovered close by, her presence reassuring despite the chaos unfolding around them. As the wolf lunged forward with fierce determination, Elena braced herself, meeting its attack head-on with swift and calculated movements.

Hiss! Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!

The clash of steel against fur echoed through the air, each strike fueled by the intent to kill. Elena's skill with the sword, honed through years of training, served her well as she danced around the wolf, taking the battle for herself. The enchantment of the sword further helped her to outmatch the wolf in terms of speed as she took advantage of every opportunity that presented itself and further wound the wolf. Each move drawing blood from her opponent.

At the distance, Elena's father Jack, who was acting to play as Aisha's father before because of grandpa Stefen's order, also noticed the newcomers because of the commotion brought by them. He also noticed his daughter in a clash with the wolf that appeared to be the leader of the pack. But his expression didn't change at all. It was as cold as ice. Not a speck of warmth and concern could be seen in his eyes. After a glance, he didn't spare her another glance and just focused on his enemies. He was not the only one that noticed them. The others did so as well.

"Jack look, it's your daughter."

"We found her."

"Yes, now we can go back."

Jack ignored them and engaged with the wolf closest to him.

Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!

The battle was still ongoing between the two. Her each movement landing a hit on the wolf, further damaging the beast, pressuring it to no end. Though the moves were calculated, her sword play was just so delicate and graceful that it could capture anyone by its beauty.

Suddenly, she saw an opportunity to kill the wolf. She immediately used it as she attacked the vulnerable leg of the wolf, which it tried to protect immediately, but the attack was actually a faint. Elena used that chance to strike right on the wolf's neck. Only then did a relieved expression appeared on her face.

'Thank god, this one doesn't have... a skill.'

Before she could finish her thoughts, a speechless expression appeared on her face as her thoughts came to a stop because right before the strike, the wolf's body glowed in a blue hue.

Within moments, the wolf's body suddenly turned into a blur as three bodies shot out of the wolf and the wolf vanished from its position. The sword slashed thin air.

Elena immediately backed off with a kick as she gazed ahead. In front of her were three wolves similar to the previous one. Her face immediately darkened.

'A speed type skill?'

'.... Sigh..... It really isn't that simple with the mutated ones.', she thought, accepting the situation.

"Aisha, assist me from now on.", she said without looking back, focusing on the enemy because a moment of carelessness with an agility type enemy could be extremely lethal.

"Yes, miss.", Aisha replied with anxiousness because she could see that young miss's father and his group won't be able to hold on for long at this rate. They need to finish the battle fast.

Watching all this, the young man behind the tree was truly astonished. He has never met a beast that could use something like that until now.

"Moreover, that woman truly knows her way with the sword. She seemed so natural and even her mana control was very good. Looks like I need to make friends with them rather than stand against them, whatever happens.", the young man said as he analyzed the battle and the moves used by Elena.

But currently, despite her best efforts, the three wolves' relentless assault began to take its toll. Its ferocity was unmatched, and Elena found herself gradually being pushed back, her movements becoming more frantic as she struggled to keep up with the beast's relentless onslaught. She could defend herself until this moment was already a testament to her sword skill.

'If only I had any mana to spare.', she thought, vexed about the situation she was in as she shot a glance at her companion who was roaming around the area.

Aisha, seeing her young miss in a pinch, wanted to help, but she couldn't find an opportunity at all. The wolf was very cunning, always putting her in a spot that would easily harm her miss if attacked. The longer the battle dragged on, the more her frustration built. Unknown to her, this was because she was inexperienced in this fighting style that she couldn't find the right moment to join in. She hasn't fought against an cunning being at all, at most fought in a gun fight after orders so it was obvious to not be able to help.

'Lily, how much longer until it's completed?', Elena asked, still pushed back by the claws that keep attacking her in every way possible.

Meanwhile, the young guy hidden behind the tree watching all this had an amused smile on his face.

"Truly a cunning beast.", he said as he shook his head. He continued, "But your luck has run out now that I have taken you as my prey."

He raised his hand with his fingers in the position such that it looked like a gun. He then aimed straight to his left, a bit distant from the battlefield. There a wolf with a similar appearance to the ones fighting against Elena was sitting with its battered and bloody body.

He then pointed his index finger right at the beast's head and said, "....."
