Kace couldn't help but scoff.
"You've got to be kidding me. People are scared of that little weiner?" he asked, scoffing as he glanced at her. Noticing a single tear rolling down her cheek, he added, "Do you love Derek?"
Allison froze when she heard his question. She quickly wiped the tears that pooled in her eyes before she answered, "I do."
"Now?" He asked, propping himself to sit on the bench properly. "Even though he beats you up? That's some love," he mumbled under his breath, feeling a pang of jealousy he never expected himself to feel.
A sad smile tugged at Allison's lips. She could see why Kace was curious about her feelings for Derek. It was clear that no man should ever raise his hand to a woman, and, like every woman in her situation, she harbored deep resentment toward him.
