Who Is This?!?!

Who is this?!?!

Idris was shocked when the random guy suddenly appeared in front of his attack. It didn't really register in his brain where the guy had come from, and more on just how dumb he was to stand directly in front of the attack.

'Idiot, you should have at least tried to pull that guard out of the way, not use yourself as a shield. Now you'll die with him.' Idris thought and sighed inwardly. Some people were just too stupid. First the guard putting his life on the line when he knew he would still fail, and now this idiot.

'Whatever, after the beam kills them, I'll kidnap that target and we'll be on our way.' Idris didn't even consider the possibility of his attack failing as he simply waited for the two to be annihilated.

So you can imagine his shock and horror when the man who had appeared suddenly raised his hand, and as if he was swatting away a fly, he simply swung his hand the the whole beam was perfectly dispersed.

'WHAT!?!?' Idris shouted inwardly as he had just witnessed an incomprehensible scene. What had just occurred.

He looked down at the red blade that was still undulating with energy. Did the attack fail? But that couldn't be possible, right?

He had obtained this blade after nearly loosing his life in an unexplored ruins. And when he got it, its abilities made it so that he was practically invincible among those within the same rank as him.

So how come this guy hadn't been reduced to? Unless…

'He is far stronger than me.' Such a possibility made his heart sink.

He was about to call out and beg for his life when the man suddenly said.

"Now what do we have here?" His voice carried with it palpable waves of power as Idris felt his strength and will to fight leave his body in an instant.

He sunk to the floor as the guy glanced at him and he men before suddenly calling out.

"Silver." Idris blinked, and he missed it.

He he managed to capture was a flash of silver light, and then a moment later, heads started to fall.

From above, he could see his men's heads flying as blood spurted from their necks. And by the man's side, a huge white wolf that hadn't been there before stood obediently by his side.

'Wait, from above?' He thought in confusion. Why was he suddenly so high up?'

'Ah!' It was then that he saw his own body, still clutching the red sword, within a head on its neck. That was when he realized.

'I'm dead?' And that was the last thought he had before his vision faded.

Christopher stared at the bloody scene in front of him without any expression.

'I got them killed, huh?' The thought made him feel uncomfortable deep in his heart, however, he was surprised as that's all he felt. He wasn't hyperventilating or having a panic attack like people always reported when one killed for the first time.

'Is it because I didn't do it myself. No, that's not right. Ah!' Christopher suddenly realized.

He'd been depressed for so long that a good chunk of his emotions had faded quite a bit. Even after meeting Joan, they still hadn't recovered fully. So the guilt he would have normally felt was reduced to just discomfort.

'And if I keep killing, then by the time I do regain my emotions fully, then…' He didn't want to think about it.

"Um… Sir." A voice snapped Christopher out of his thoughts causing him and Silver who was licking the blood off his claws to turn around.

There they saw the figure of Hughes who had just managed to get up.

"Oh right. Hello." Christopher greeted and took a look at the man's bloodied face.

"You don't look too good." He noted while touching his chin.

"It's fine, sir. I will survive as long as I regain my Mana." Hughes said hastily, not wanting the powerhouse in front of him to worry about him.

"In that case, why'd you call me?" Christopher asked casually, however, he was still unintentionally releasing waves of power through his voice, terrifying the man.

"Th- The young master wishes to see you!" He said with a hasty bow.

'Why is he so scared?' Christopher thought with furrowed brows. Unfortunately, the man in front of him took it as a sign of dissatisfaction and bowed even lower.

"It will be worth your time I promise!" He nearly shouted.

<As the master is much stronger, he unintentionally releasing his aura through actions. In this case, voice. Hence, all life forms below are facing heavy suppression each time you speak.> Hearing the system, Christopher blinked. That made a lot of sense.

'How do I stop it?' He asked.

<The master just needs to think about it.> Christopher nodded and thought about retracting whatever aura was around him.

It seemed to work as the tense Hughes as well as the guard around relaxed visibly.

"Is that better?" Christopher asked and Hughes stood straight before nodding.

"Yes, thank you sir." He replied gratefully. To him, it was as if he was in front of a powerful monster that could rip him to shreds in an instant. But now it was much more bearable.

"Okay, take me to see this young master of yours." Hughes beamed at the request and forgot the pain in his body.

"Yes sir! Follow me." He said and immediately started towards the fancy looking carriage in front.

Christopher observed the carriage and noticed that there were no horses pulling it.

'Right, this world isn't really technologically advanced, but has more magic based technology. Still from what these memories are telling me, a magic powered carriage is super expensive and only very high ranking nobles or stupidly rich individuals can afford it.' Christopher noted.

At that point, Hughes stopped in front of the carriage door and so did Christopher. And then a moment later, the door opened revealing the image of a young man that didn't even seem to be 20 yet.

He was of average height and had delicate features, almost like a girl. Black hair and striking green eyes that were his most prominent feature.

He quickly got off the carriage until he was at the same level as Christopher and gave a deep vow.

"Good evening Sir. My name is Titus Darius, third son of the Darius family. I thank you deeply for saving the lives of me and my men." He said earnestly.

'Well he's pretty respectful. Wait, Darius…!' Christopher's eyes widened as he finally remembered where he had learn that name.

Even though the original Christopher was a layman, even he was aware of a powerhouse known as the Darius family.

In this world, there were numerous kingdoms and races, however among them, Humans, Elves, Beastmen, Demons, and Dwarves.

Unlike what most would expect, there was no millennium long war that had been going on between these sides as they were actually pretty chill with each other.

Anyway, focusing on the humans, the thing was that unlike other races, all the humans had been united under one banner, creating a massive Empire known as the Triumphal Empire which was also a world superpower.

And within this Empire, there were different ranks of nobles being the lower class, higher class, and peak class nobles. Peak class being so high ranking that they got to stay directly with the Emperor in his palace!

And the Darius family, was one of the only three peak class nobles in the Empire.

'In that case, why is someone so high profile travelling with such a small and weak entourage. And who in their right minds would attack them as well?' Christopher thought with confusion.

"Sir, if it is possible. I would like for you to travel with us until we reach the Capital." At that moment, Titus stood up and asked with a respectful tone.

At his request, Christopher just blinked. He wasn't really surprised, after all, he had just saved their lives. Still, he didn't want to do anything for free.

"Well, your man here said it would be worthwhile, so what's in it for me?" Christopher asked.

"Naturally, I wouldn't make such a request for free." Titus said while glancing at the large white wolf that comfortably laid down with closed eyes.

However, the instant he looked at it, it opened its eyes and fixated it's cold blue gaze on him causing him to almost flinch.

"Ignore Silver, he doesn't like people." Christopher said dismissively.

"Y- Yes. Anyway, about what you will get. We could reward you with a hundred Stellar coins, a high ranking beast egg, and something else of equal value." Titus said and Christopher raised a brow.

"'And'? Meaning you would give me all these at once. But you also said 'could' meaning there's something else." Titus nodded quickly.

"Yes. We could grant you those rewards. But if you decide that you don't want these things, I'm willing to extend to you and invitation into our fami-"

"No." Before Titus could finish, a stern no that held a hint of Christopher's aura sounded out causing everyone to flinch.

"I have no intention of joining any force. If that's all then I think the first option will suffice." Christopher said and Titus nodded, feeling a sense of regret in his heart.

This man looked so young, and yet he showed such high levels of power. If he could have recruited him successfully, he would no doubt have obtained a huge talent, and the family would reward him heavily.

'A shame. Still, best not make an enemy out of him.' He thought before saying.

"Alright. Would you like to ride with me in the carriage?" Titus offered and Christopher nodded.

"Silver guard the carriage. Kill anything with bad intentions." Christopher walked up to Silver and rubbed his head before saying.

The wolf allowed his touch before nodding and getting up.

Then, Christopher turned his attention to the long red blade that had fallen from the hand of Idris and decided to pick it up.

'This is pretty well made. Guess I'll enhance you next and make you my main weapon.' He came to a decision immediately.

He didn't need to look twice to ascertain that the sword was some sort of ancient artifact and was probably very strong among weapons of the same rank.

So without hesitation, he threw the weapon into his dimension and told the system to enhance it. However, this action caused shock among those around as it seemed like the sword had just vanished into thin air.

'No way. He has no spatial ring or anything like that around him. Does that mean, he can manipulate space!? But that's incredibly rare!' Titus thought in shock.

Spatial mages were incredibly rare and we're considered to be an important resource for the Empire as well as other races due to how convenient their abilities were.

Just thair commercial uses were plentiful as they could create spatial passageways to get from one place to another, or spatial accessories where things could be stored. And those were only for commercial uses.

Titus remembered when his father took him to watch one of the renowned Spatial mages fight against some high leveled beasts. He will never forget the scene of the very space shattering and turning beasts that could easily decimate towns and cities into minced meat.

"What are you staring at, let's go." Titus didn't know when Christopher had already gone past him and stood by the door of the carriage.

Titus felt another pang of regret, but he hid it and entered the carriage.
