Undead Ruins III
…
Everyone looked on silently as Silver walked back with a satisfied smile on his face.
"Hehe, how was that Master?" He asked with a smile and Christopher nodded.
"You did well and still kept the damage to a minimum, good job." Christopher paused and gave Silver the desired reward, headpats.
The others looked on with some envy, wishing it was them.
After a but, Christopher turned in the direction the skeleton creature had come from.
"Well, we have our target. Let's go." When he said that, he leaned forward before shooting forth like a rocket.
The others followed suit and headed deeper into the ancient city.
After a while, they all felt Mana gather and jumped away just as bone spikes erupted from the ground to impale them.
"Looks like someone is getting impatient." Umbra chuckled as the group didn't slow down and kept moving towards their destination.
As they moved, the dark Mana in the area got thicker and thicker, causing Chiara mostly to get even more irritated by the second. But she refused to do anything that could upset Christopher.
Eventually, they finally reached the end of the ruins, and they laid eyes on the boss of the dungeon.
Seated highly on the throne of bones, the Lich looked down on the group, purple Flames burning from its eye sockets.
"What Business do you have here?" It's voice was raspy and boomed throughout the cavern, however before any of them could reply.
"You are very bold, expressing your cute darkness authority like that." Umbra floated forward, his expression one of disdain.
"How Dare You be so brazen?" His tone was filled with power and a terrific pressure instantly erupted from his body, completely suppressing the Aura of the Lich.
The flames in the eyes of the Lich flickered as it felt the heavy pressure descend.
"... What grievances do you have With me?" The Lich's tone was actually very careful as it spoke, knowing fully well that no one in the group in front of it should be treated lightly.
"And why should we give you our reasons?" Umbra replied and the pressure doubled.
"Umbra, that's enough." Suddenly, Christopher spoke and Umbra paused before looking at him with a pout.
"Aww, but it was getting fun." He whined.
Christopher walked next to him and rubbed his head.
"I wanna do something with this guy, okay?" Hearing his gentle tone, the unwillingness in Umbra's heart instantly vanished and he giggled.
"Hehe, okay." Immediately, the pressure let up and Christopher thanked Umbra before walking forward.
He stared up at the Lich and asked calmly.
"What is your name?" At this, the Lich tilted its head.
"... I do not need a name. Such things are pointless." Christopher merely nodded.
"I see. Regardless, you have two options at this moment." He held out his hand and Scarlet appeared with a flash of red light.
"Submit peacefully, or get your ass beat." Hearing his options, the Lich paused, and then cackled.
The sound was extremely unpleasant to the ears, but Christopher showed no signs of discomfort and simply waited for the Lich to finish.
"Hahaha! A very interesting offer, Human!" The Lich pushed itself off its bony throne, the large black book in its hand floating beside him and flipping open as dark energy seeped from it.
The crystal at The top of the scepter in its other hand shone as he looked down on Christopher.
"Well then, if those are my options, then I would like to submit on my own terms!" As he said this, dozens of massive purple magic circles appeared behind him, and from within them, all sorts of monstrosities made from bones emerged, each with a terrific Aura.
Then a black and purple shield covered the Lich itself as it pointed a bony hand at Christopher.
"Show me what you can do, Human." Then, the monstrosities charged at Christopher.
"Sigh. I warned you." Calmly, Christopher brandished Scarlet.
White flames blazed across the surface of the blade before fusing with the Annihilation attribute and taking on a pink color.
And in his left hand, frigid air escaped as ice magic bloomed to life in his hand.
At that point, the bone monstrosities roared, and a few of them opened their mouths where darkness surged and fired off in potent blasts.
Christopher waved his left hand and in an instant, a huge wall of ice dozens of meters tall formed between him and the monstrosities.
Their attacks impacted the wall and caused it to crack in some areas, but it held firm.
Then, Christopher suddenly appeared on the other side of the wall near the closest monstrosity.
"Sever." He swung his sword.
The monstrosity froze as a pink line appeared from its head down, and it split in half before bursting into pink flames that reduced it to ash in moments.
Christopher's figure flashed again and pink light shone before two more monstrosities bursted into pink flames and net a similar fate as their comrade.
After that, Christopher paused and snapped his finger. Two ice barriers appeared on his sides just as two bone monstrosities that were significantly smaller but also much faster than the others appeared and struck with their claws.
Their claws bounced off the barriers, and then Christopher swung his sword and the heads of the monstrosities flew before their bodies burst into flames once more.
At this point, quite a few Monstrosities were around him and pounced, but he mumbled softly.
"Frigid Permafrost." In an instant, incredibly cold air erupted from him and swept the surrounding area.
All the monstrosities close to him were engulfed in this cold air and were frozen solid instantly. Then their frozen bodies cracked before shattering to pieces.
Christopher turned his head to the Lich who was still summoning monstrosities, and above it, a large orb of darkness was forming, intense waves of energy crackled from it as anyone staring could tell the ball carried unbelievable destructive power.
However, Christopher was completely unperturbed as he actually let the Lich finished and just occupied himself with the monstrosities.
The Lich naturally noticed this and had a bad feeling. But it couldn't turn back now.
So when it finished its preparations, it dropped its bony hand and the orb descended towards Christopher with unnatural speed.
Seeing this, Christopher merely paused and looked at the orb, and when it was near him, he raised a hand towards it, and uttered softly.
"Disperse." Instant, the orb that had been radiating intense waves of power exploded into harmless spots of darkness that quickly disappeared.
"What!?" The Lich exclaimed in shock.
'To so easily disperse my darkness magic… wouldn't that mean his attainments in magic… are leagues above mine?!' It exclaimed in its mind, disbelief filling where its heart should be.
At this moment, Christopher pointed at the Lich that was floating high in the air and said, his voice like an Emperor's decree.
"Downforce." Instantly, the Lich that had been floating felt an irresistible force crash down on it, the barrier around its body shattering to pieces as it smashed into the ground with a loud boom.
All the remaining monstrosities also experienced the same pressure, but theirs was more intense as their bodies were ground down to dust.
The Lich struggled to move as Christopher walked towards it casually, and when he reached it, he squatted near its head and said.
"I told you." The Lich managed to look up at him.
It knew Christopher was stronger, it sensed it the moment he entered the cave. However…
'To think there was such a difference. It's hard to believe he's even human!' It exclaimed in its mind as Christopher said.
"Well, you are mine now." He snapped his fingers, and the Lich suddenly found itself in a new location.
"Wh-" Before it could even utter a word or observe its surroundings, pain unlike anything it had ever experienced erupted from the depths of its soul.
It consumed its mind and every aspect of its existence and left it reeling.
It had long thought that it was incapable of pain, its physical body lacking such a weakness. But what it was experiencing was far more than anything it had experienced while it was alive and more.
But eventually, the pain subsided. And when it did, the Lich was shocked when it felt its body.
"Wh-What?" It looked at its hands in shock.
The bones were still white, but they were more vibrant and pearly. Moreover, it could see purple markings on them and it assumed such a thing had occurred for the rest of its body.
But its appearance wasn't the only thing. It's strength as well, had also received an incredible boost, far more than it was just moments ago.
"Have you come to?" A familiar voice echoed and it looked up to see Christopher looking down on it.
It knew it should feel some sort of indignation or hate towards the Human that had beaten it so thoroughly, yet when it looked at him, all it felt was gratitude, and admiration.
Without even thinking, it bowed down it's head and said respectfully.
"Master."
Christopher saw this and nodded in satisfaction. He had gained a lot more from this journey than he had hoped.
'Let's see this guy's stats.'
