“I love when you wear that shirt.” Slade gives me a heated grin as he leans in to kiss me on the cheek, holding my hip tightly with his hand.
Felicity and I have just arrived at the family lot of the stadium and were surprised that the guys were out there too, talking to their friends from other teams. The best thing about being an all-star is they get to have fun with people they don’t normally get to see. Introductions have been made, but I know I’ll never remember all these other player’s names.
The shirt he’s referencing is the one with his picture on the front and Savage on the back. He becomes all kinds of territorial when I show up with it on. Truth be told, I wear it just to get a rise out of him, in more ways than one.
“I know you do, it’s your good luck charm for tonight.”
He wraps his arms around me like he hasn’t seen me in days when it’s really only been a few hours. “That’s where you’re wrong; you’re my good luck charm.”
