S1 Chapter 5

"Looks like you made a friend on your first day of school, Kayden Kun," said Professor All Might who was grinning, watching the situation from behind.

"But I'm not an official student yet, Professor," I said.

"Oh, don't you worry about that. With your strength I think you will pass easily," he said, "Ok then,the exams are about to begin. Go ahead. All the best."

I went ahead to the venue of the competition.

"Hello, I am Mr Mic. I will be the referee for today's entrance exams," said Mr Mic.

Mr Mic is a well known hero. He has recently joined the ranks of the top 30 heroes.

He sometimes presides over competitions whenever he is free.

His name is similar to his ability.

His ability is manipulating sound.

"Before the exam starts, let me inform you the rules of the exam," he said, "On this venue of the exams, we have created the simulation of a city. The city is divided into different sections :- A, B, C, D and E. Every section can contain two hundred students each. A large number of monstrous robots have been kept hidden in the city. All you have to do is defeat the robots and earn points. The ones with the highest amount of points will pass the exam. Now let me tell you the allocation rule of points. The robots are divided into four levels :- A, B, C and D. Defeating a level D robot will earn you three points. Defeating a level C robot will earn you five points each. Defeating a level B robot will earn you ten points."

"What about level A robot?" a student asked.

"In case of a level A robot, it cannot be defeated by you. So run as fast as you can once you encounter one. There will be no points allocated for defeating a Level A robot," Mr Mic said.

We were then divided in five groups. There were two hundred students in each group. And soon after the gates for the simulated cities opened.

Everyone wanted to earn as many points as possible and get admitted into the academy.

They rushed in as soon as the gates were opened.

I, who wanted to preserve my power ran behind them slowly.

They were all showing their best of abilities. Each student had a different ability. Some used technological powers, while some other used super strength. Some used firepower, while some used elemental abilities.

Everything was a mess. There were also students who were beating each other to increase their chances of getting selected.

But what a pity. Fighting among students was prohibited. So they were eliminated from the exams and kicked out of the academy.

As for me, I ran around looking for rounds. But looks like I was more pitiful than those students because most of the robots had been defeated by others and there were none of them on my side. I ran around with my total of zero points.

I ran here and there and looked around everywhere. But there was no sight of the robots.

I wonder why it happened.

And then there was a thud. Along with it came a bunch of explosions.

Kayden who was looking around for robots, fell on the ground due to the sudden THUD and the explosions that followed.

Everyone were wondering who was the person who had such tremendous power to cause the whole simulation to shake.

But to their surprise, it was the monstrous giant robot about which Mr Mic had mentioned as very dangerous.

And as per the orders from Mr Mic, all the participants began to flee from there.

Kayden who had fallen on ground tried to get up and run. But he was so scared after looking at the giant robot that his body didn't respond. His face showed extreme fear.

The robot was a hundred times larger than him.

He knew there was no way to escape from it.

He was about to run when he heard a yell for help.

He looked around to see who was yelling for help.

It was none other than the girl he just met outside.

It was the white haired girl who had helped him up.

She was now struggling to get up as her legs were stuck between rocks. She was trying to remove her leg from there and run. But she couldn't do so, no matter how hard she tried.

Kayden couldn't just leave her behind. After all she had showed him kindness and she was the only one who had blessed him luck.

She was the first person he wanted to be friends with. And now the same person was struggling to escape.

He couldn't just sit back and watch her die. The robot had already reached behind her. There was no way she could survive if anyone didn't help her.

And in this situation, Kayden's inner hero awakened.

There was no more time to think. He couldn't be a hero if he couldn't even save a helpless girl.

His power was now stable and could be used up to fifty percent at most to avoid injuries.

The robot took a step forward, followed by explosions. It's movements were itself resulting in explosions. It was so huge.

The only way to defeat it was to go all out. Kayden channeled the fifty percent of his energy throughout his body and then launched towards the robot with a jump.

The robot was down by the next second with a full power Smash. Everyone including the spectators, teachers, headmaster and the students were left in awe.

This was the second time it was defeated in the history of the academy. The first time it was defeated by Professor All Might.

And now was the second time. The robot fell on the ground with broken parts. It's whole body started collapsing followed by explosions in various parts of its body.

Kayden, who was now in mid-air started falling head down. But he was quite lucky to be saved by the girl with her telekinesis.

But the next second he was down, she started omitting.
