The Training Goes On

"Urgh, my head" I weakly groaned as I slowly regaining my consciousness from my slumber.

Gently opening my eyes, I soon noticed that setting has changed. I recall that I was at the garden a while back but currently, I am laying down on what I assume was my bed.

Confused on what is going on, I unsteadily raised my head and scan the area to confirm. From what I can see, I really am in my bedroom that was faintly illuminated by the moonlight.

I pondered on how end up in my room as I recall previous events before this. I thought for a while before remembering the time where I fainted after voicelessly chanting a rock bullet.

Judging from how much time had passed, it suggests that someone from my family found me unconscious at the garden and carried back to my bedroom. As for who was it, I assume it was father or grandfather since those two were the closest I bonded with.

Moving on to the part where I fainted, I assume the reason was due to magic exhaustion. I should have known how severe it is to run out of mana, especially when my mana pool is quite low.

So, to solve this problem, I must work on increasing my mana capacity. However, doing this again at the garden is inconvenient. Besides, my family will eventually get tired carrying me back to my room if I keep on fainting on weird places.

I guess I will do my magic training lesson here in my room for my own convenience and safety. However, the only problem is how to execute my training without damaging the area.

Looking out of the window on my left and suddenly, an idea had come to my mind.

"That's it! What if I just cast magic outside the window" a sudden eureka moment just struck in me, which I immediately keep in mind for the tomorrow morning.

Of course, if I just cast my magic outside the window, then I wouldn't worry of the inconvenience of fainting from mana exhaustion, as well as not worrying about disposing the evidence of me doing magic from my family.

The only inconvenience I have was the fact I am quite short and was unable to reach the window's latch to open it. If only I have something to help me to boost myself up, then I could proceed with my magic training.

I then remembered that I saw a stool somewhere at the garden. I just need someone to bring it to my room without my parents knowing about this.

With that in mind, I immediately went back to sleep for tomorrow's training.

------------------------------------------------

On the next morning, I woke up early and did some few stretches. Then I grabbed the book that was at the same table as last time and browse for a safe beginner rank magic I can work on with.

I want a magic that was least of a hassle to clean after the training session ends. After doing some quick considerations in my head, I end up choosing wind magic since it is just a small gust of wind that I can spam without any residue left after being cast. Also, it is practically invisible to the naked eye, which convenient for me to hide it from my family.

With that thought in mind, the maid eventually came to my room and helped me change my pajamas into casual clothes. She then picks me up and brings me to the dining area.

Upon arriving the dining area, my family greeted me good morning and I joined them for breakfast. Today's meal is Sticky Honey Roast. As usual, they cut my food into tiny pieces so I can eat safely and efficiently.

'This taste so sweet' I thought to myself as I continue wolfing down the bit-size roasted meat. The sauce is so syrupy and I love eating it.

"Bellona, do you like the food?" father inquires for my opinion about the meal, which I happily nodded in approvement at his question. Father smiles at my response and we continue eating breakfast.

After we were done eating, we went on our separate ways to do our own business. As for me, I went back to the garden and look for the stool.

I eventually spot the stool and it was being used by a gardener servant. I asked the person if I can borrow his stool. The servant complied and carried the stool towards my room. The stool was then place down within my room and the servant went back to work.

"Alright, now that the stool was acquired, I can continue my magic training inside my room" I mutter to myself as I pulled the stool towards the window.

-----------------------------------------------------

I begin the training by climbing the stool and opening the window so that I can cast my magic outside. But I then check if there was no one watching me from below. Once I confirmed that the coast is clear, I can proceed on chanting my magic in peace.

I raised my arm forward and begin chanting the incantation of the beginner wind magic, Wind Blade.

"Let the great protection of wind be on the place thou seekest. I call upon an exhilarating vortex wind here and now"

"[Wind Blade]"

Once I finished chanting, a ball of wind appeared in front of my hand. When I released the ball of wind, a strong breeze pushes me backwards. I almost fell from the stool but I luckily hold on to the windowsill.

"Phew, that was close" I anxiously said to myself as I tried to pull myself together. I should try to adjust the power of the magic next time before casting it in order to mitigate the knockback.

That being said, I will try to cast wind blade again, but this time I will be voiceless incantation.

As I was going to cast the wind blade, I remembered the scene where I fainted after casting the second rock bullet. I stopped myself and think for a while. Then I climbed down the bed and grabbed several pillows and stuff toys in front of the stool to cushion my fall if I were to faint again.

Once the safety precaution was set, I climbed back to the stool and took a deep breath. Alright, time to brace myself upon chanting. I close my eyes and focus my mana towards my hand as I imagine the feeling of chanting the wind blade.

'On the count of three, one…. two… three… NOW'

"HUH!"

*Whoosh*

The wind blade was successfully casted and surprisingly, I was perfectly fine after the whole thing. I guess bracing myself was just a waste of time and quite anticlimactic. Good freaking grief.

Completely sadden by the lack of exposition, I casted another wind blade to soothe my depression. Only this time, I am starting to feel dizzy and my body stumbles backward.

"Ah, there we go" I sarcastically mutters as I fall from the stool and landed safely at the pile of soft pillows and stuff toys. I couldn't help myself to laugh on how ridiculous this predicament I am in.

I guess my maximum limit for now is two and perhaps if I recover from this nausea, my limit should be increase.

'Welp, I guess this is going to be a long, long training session' I thought to myself as I blackout from mana exhaustion once again.

------------------------------------------------------

After spending another day of tiring training session, I continue doing the same activity for the several days, weeks and months. I kept on building my mana pool until a whole year and a half have passed.

Of course, I didn't spend my entire time blowing airs at the window. I also learn the rest of the beginner rank magic incantation in between my mana pool building activity.

Some of the beginner rank magic I learned were quite familiar like the water ball and fire ball, but there were also the new ones like electric pulse, frost shards and leaf shot.

With all of beginner rank magic were acquired, I moved on to learning the intermediate rank magic next.

As for the mana pool I built for a year, I could say that I have a huge amount of mana that I rarely get nausea for a long time, which means that I made a pretty good job working on my magical skills so far.

Now moving away from my day-to-day magic training session, let's talk about my life outside the bedroom.

First of all, I often seeing father and grandfather leaving Roa several months ago. Attending this so-called business meeting in the capital city, they mostly came home late in the evening, which leaves me and mother to eat dinner alone together.

Speaking of mother, she started keeping an eye on me from now on. There were several instances where I almost get caught doing magic and I have to make excuses to cover them up from her. Luckily, she was convinced most of the time and mostly let these instances slide.

Anyway, spending time with mother wasn't that bad and she was actually fun to bond with. She often shows me her flower garden and reveals that she actually knows a bit of nature magic. She utilizes the intermediate nature magic, [Rapid Growth] in order to speed up the growth of her plants in the garden.

I was astonished that mother is capable of doing magic, which I realized why there was a magic guide book in the first place. I never would have expected that this timeline of mother is somewhat a magician in some point in her life before giving it up and focusing on being a noble.

Hearing that story from her, earns her my respect and I often come to her whenever I need something. This doesn't mean my respect for father and grandfather declines because of this, I just rarely get to bond with them because of their damn meetings.

Honestly, who was responsible for this meeting idea anyway?! Just kidding, I already knew who was it.

It is that damn bastard Darius again.
