I'm sitting crossed legged in the forest. While clearing my mind and regulating my breathing, in the surroundings Mana are accumulating at me.

I inhaled fresh Mana and exhaled Mana impurities from myself, making me at my healthiest possible state.

It's side effects though made my skin smooth and light like a girl's. My brown-blonde hair was silky. My breath will smell good too...

To be honest I think my body was undergoing a mutation. I wonder what's going to happen? Will my body change at a genetic level?

Knowing this is a Magical world, it won't be strange if I ascended into a higher lifeform or something...

Sylphy: "Rudy?"

Rudeus: "Hm? So you've woken up Sylphy?"

Sylphy regained her consciousness after she exhausted her Mana for the nth time. I could tell her Magic Power growing stronger than earlier.

Rudues: "Yosh! I guess that's it for Magic practice for the day. How about let's study?"

I said as I manipulated a book into my hands floating towards me, like Telekinesis.

Sylphy had always been in wonder how I did my originally created magic.

I told her that we need to study physics, first before attempting to do so. Without the knowledge of vector quantities and potential-kinetic energy works, I doubt this Magic could be of use. And it would be super dangerous too if the magic backfires.

So because of that, I've began teaching her science and mathematics. At this stage her level of knowledge can be at an elementary level.

We spent our days studying stuff like this, but she still have a long way to go.

Sylphy: "Why does water turn into, uh... vapor when you heat it up?"

Rudeus: "When water is heated, the molecules in the water vibrate and some of them escape into the air, thus becoming water vapor, or the gaseous state of water... I taught you about the three main states of matter right? Heat is one of the factors that liquids turns into gas."

I'm teaching her how the three main states of matter changes. This time the example is when liquid water turns into gas water.

From the look on Sylphy's face, it was clear she didn't fully understand what I was saying. Still, she'd proven herself a quick learner in general and got the gist of it. Probably because she always paid attention and tried her best.

Sylphy: "Anything can melt? Even stuff like rocks?"

Rudeus: "Yep. You'd need really some intense heat though. When you did, it turns into a molten rock."

I don't know if there are volcanoes in this world, but I doubt we need to teach different types of molten rocks.

Sylphy: "Could you melt one, Rudy?"

Rudeus: "Hmph, who do you think you're talking to? Of course I can."

I puffed my chest confidently raising up my chin and folded my arms.

Incidentally, there was also a spell called Magma Gusher that let you create a spontaneous burst of lava. I felt like that one had to be some combination of earth and fire magic, but it was classed as an Advanced-ranked Fire spell.

First I made a block of extremely cold ice. I don't have a thermometer, but I'm pretty sure a single touch with it would make your flesh suffer a severe frostbite. Of course I controlled it to a safer level where we could still recover using Healing Magic in case of accidents.

I conjured a bucket amount of lava into the block if ice. The lava is just as searing hot that equally offset the coldness of the block of ice.

Rudeus: "Now you see it? That is a molten rock that you wanted to see."

Sylphy had her eyes opened the entire time and was shocked by the amount of Mana to produce the two block of ice and lava.

In my estimation, each of them had greater Mana to use compared when casting Cumulonimbus–a Saint ranked spell.

Honestly I've already nearly reached the end of how my scientific knowledge could be applied in Magic.

I want to Advance my Research on Magic a step further. Maybe studying how to create Magic Circles to create Magic Tools.

Roxy did tell me that there was a University of Magic in this world. If I remember it correctly the biggest University was up North in a country called Ranoa.

Rudeus: "Hmm, University huh..."

A word I'd never thought I'll be able to get to. In my past life I already have given up on entering higher education and focused on finding work and earn money for my little sister's tuition instead of me.

Sylphy: "Are you going to a school, Rudy?"

Apparently, I'd been thinking out loud. Sylphie turned to look at me, an anxious expression on her face.

Rudeus: "No. Not a school. Dad said it's unnecessary."

Sylphy: "But you've been acting kind of strange."

Rudeus: "I was told that often ever since I was a baby. According to Lilia-san."

Sylphy: "That's not what I meant..."

Her frown only deepening, Sylphy pressed me further.

Sylphy: "Are you gonna go somewhere?"

Rudues: "Well yeah... Dad told me I could leave the house when I reached a certain age. So I was thinking of entering a Magic University or go delving on Labyrinths as Adventurers. I've been thinking what to do when I finally become independent."

Sylphy: "N-no!"

Sylphy cried out and threw her arms around me.

Rudeus: "Umm... Sylphiette-san?"

Sylphy: "No... No... No!"

The girl was squeezing me so hard it was difficult to breathe. Not sure how to respond, I fell silent for a moment.

Sylphy: "Don't... Don't go, Rudy! Hic… Waaaah!"

Hmm... I see.

The thought of me–her only friend, leaving would make her feel really lonely.

What a blunder. Now what am I gonna do?

Sylphy: "Hic... Please, Rudy... Don't... Don't go away..."

I held the back of her head. Rubbing her back to calm her down. I used Hypnosis Magic to calm her down making her relax falling asleep.

Rudeus: "I'm sorry..."

I said.

At this rate Sylphy is going to depend on me. In her eyes, I was her whole world. If she grew, she will be no different than a Yandere at this point.

She's very weak. A complete contradiction on my objective on making her stronger...

I thought she will grow stronger if I teach her Magic, but I was wrong. Even if I impart all of my Magical Knowledge upon her, as long as I'm there she will continue to depend on me.

Hmm... What to do...

There was a letter from Roxy as it reads.

Roxy: "Dear Rudeus, How have you been?

It's hard to believe, but I suppose two years have flown by since we parted.

Things have finally settled down a bit on my end, so I thought I'd take the chance to write.

At the moment, I'm staying in the royal capital of the Kingdom of Shirone. In the course of exploring various labyrinths, it seems I've made something of a name for myself, so I ended up getting hired to tutor a certain prince.

Teaching him brings back memories of the time I spent in the Greyrat household. For one thing, the prince is actually quite a bit like the young man I tutored there. While not quite as talented as you, he's a quick-witted boy and a budding young magician in his own right.

Regrettably, he's also prone to stealing my underwear and peeping on me when I'm changing, just more than someone I could name. His personality's a bit on the pompous side, and he's considerably more energetic, but on the whole your patterns of behavior are quite similar.

Perhaps ambitious men are all sex-crazed animals at heart? I'm a bit worried he'll assault me before I'm finished teaching him. Can't say I understand what you people find so appealing about my scrawny little body, honestly.

Hmm. Maybe I shouldn't be writing this. If anyone were to read it, they might toss me in the dungeon for besmirching the honor of the royal family.

I'll just have to cross that bridge when I come to it. It's not like I mean any of this in a bad way, really.

In any case, it seems the royal court is planning to appoint me as a "court magician" for the duration of my stay. There's still a great deal of magical research I'm itching to pursue, so that should work out quite nicely.

Oh, that reminds me—I've finally managed to get the hang of casting King-tier water spells. The royal library here happened to have some helpful books on the subject. Back when I first mastered Saint-tier magic, I thought that was the best I could ever do, but it seems a bit of good old-fashioned effort goes a long way.

I wouldn't be surprised if you're already casting Imperial-tier water spells by now, Rudeus. Or maybe you broadened your horizons and reached the Saint-tier in a different discipline? I know how voracious your thirst for knowledge is, so I could certainly see you dabbling in Healing or Summoning as well.

Then again, maybe you chose to focus on your swordplay instead. I'd be a bit disappointed, to be honest, but I'm positive you'd make your mark on the world either way. Personally, I'm aiming to become a Water Saint-tier magician.

Like I mentioned before…if you ever find yourself hitting a dead end in your magical studies, go get yourself admitted to the Ranoa University of Magic. Without a letter of recommendation, you'll need to pass an entrance exam. But I don't think that should pose you any difficulty at all.

Well then, until we meet again—Roxy

P.S. It's quite possible I will have left the royal court by the time your reply reaches it, so don't feel obliged to respond."

Woah! Water King-tier!

As expected of my teacher. She can't possibly call herself my master if she's weaker than me right?

Nah...

Dad: "You also have another one Rudy."

Hm? Another one?

Dad gave me the letter and I read the seal on it. It was apparently a letter coming from the publishing company that Lilia submitted the manuscript of the Novel I plagiarized.

The letter was written in a very business-like manner, but I could tell the writer was so enthusiastic writing it. Okay let's just summarize what it just said.

They will be very interested on publishing the Novel in their company. And just I expected, the amount of money I could get. Lilia-san had apparently masterfully negotiated to get me benefits above the usual market price.

In this Kingdom, there was also a copyright system but not as strict as the previous world. Theater plays and bards wanting to tell the story would have to pay a certain amount of coins too.

Rudues: "Hehehe, look at this Dad!"

I proudly show him the letter's contents.

He looked into it and made a grin.

Paul: "You really made it huh. I've never thought you would really do it."

Rudeus: "That's given. Who do you think you're talking to? I'm a Water Saint Mage for God's sake. Writing a book or two is easy, no sweat! Maybe I could beat up a certain Advanced swordsman now."

Paul: "Who's boasting now huh? C'mere you... Let's practice swordsmanship! I'm gonna pop that swollen head of yours."

Rudeus: "Ah! Wait Daaaaad, Noooo."

That day Dad put me under a harsh sparring session I nearly thought he's going for the kill. His strikes were much faster and swifter than a usual sparring.

Thankfully the layer of Mana in my body was strong enough to hold against his onslaught of attacks paired with Healing Magic.
