Threatning Opponent

I can only hear the deafening ring echoing through the room as I wake up. The sun's light barges into the room as the wind blows through the window and the A/C off. Mom entered the bedroom without waking me up to tell her goodbye... again.

Long sleeve hoodies and jeans are my favorite clothes to wear, but I decide to wear the traditional black tank top with black and red shorts, running shoes, and my grandfather's necklace handed down to me from the old man himself. It's never leaving my neck. Not till I die. Going through the hallway, I pass by the pictures of mom and dad before heading to the small little altar I placed with the greatest amount of room to accommodate Grandfather's ashes and I sit on my knees with my hands clasped together. "To the only one that was actually a parental figure for me. Thank you and I love you grandpa."

No sounds echoing through this hallway like before. Now it's the complete opposite, and I still hate it. They never know what a family is supposed to do. Hearing the shoes collide with the hardwood floor. A fresh smell of furniture with shines and reflections everywhere I look. The light red walls mixing greatly with the bone-white ceiling. The door glued and re-glued again looking like a toy that should've been thrown away years ago whenever my parents were home.

The soft breeze of the air, trees flowing softly with it making the crazy community in walking in a little less chaotic than it already is. People who saw the six-a.m. news heard about the first blood that came from one of the players. His name? No one knows, but his username is KillerZone and he is ranked number 10 in the top ten most powerful players in the game. Only thing I heard about him is that he's a brute that doesn't know when to quit.

Aura blinks on through the S.O.U.L machine, "Why's everyone in such a panic?"

"One of the players that was online yesterday murdered an official with his chosen weapon. The Grand Hammer. He'll be a force to be reckoned with that's for certain."

"Grand Hammer? That has to be a lot of weight. His weakness would be me someone like me. An Assassin class or anyone with greater speed or range.

The light flickers and shows a question mark on the screen, "From what I know in the official rankings he's pretty up there." She appears physically in front of me, a child-like form in size. Her summer dress flowing mushing themselves towards my waist. She looks up at me with her eyebrows curled upwards too, "What should we do about it, Kazuki? What if we end up going against them?"

Instinctively I rub the back of my neck. I understand her concern, I just don't know what I'd be able to do. They are powerful. Placing my hand on her digital red hair and stroking it gently, "Well... I think I'd just place trust in my friends." Looking at her, I gather my breath and exhale, "That'll be the best thing to do. Trust my skills and my friends."

"We can do more research once you get to school. Its Sparring Day today, remember?" Aura says.

"Oh right! Can't wait to gain a level boost!" I say.

A figure wearing a dark gray shawl over his head bumps into me and hands over a folded piece of paper. No words leave his smiling grin as he keeps moving ahead and stopping another person in my same school uniform similarly. If you wanna be sketchy that's how you do it alright. I flip open the folded paper and all it shows is a red laughing clown mask. Once we get to the school its thrown away, "Talk about sketchy."

Bells ring as I walk up the concrete steps of this high rise. An aging arch stretching over me with bruises and weathering concrete. Long windows lowering down the walls and stairs as the light shines through the glass. The echoing laughter and chatter of people through the long hallways as I stroke left and right to Section 2. First section consists of regular learning material for non S.O.U.L users.

Section 2 are S.O.U.L users of MMORPG and any Action game. There's a third section, but they have their own thing going on today, they are competing in their respective tournaments this season so they won't becoming back until they either all win or all lose. An electronic screen towers above on the wall on top of the metal double doors saying in moving words from left to right 'Elements' in bright red letters.

I look towards my device, "You ready?"

"Always will be, Kazu."

I push the doors in and take my step into the classroom.

****************

A blue digital wall greets me with a QR code screen and I place my S.O.U.L near it. Red beams move from left to right and reverse as a text to speech device repeats my name and my AI's name aloud with a mirror image of us scanning every pixel of our being before saying, "No weapons present. Battle Cube is currently on by your teacher's request, please enter with caution. Battles are present."

Placing myself through the digital wall my body turns into data and then back into my body again as instead of a classroom we enter a gigantic field. Trees are scattered across with a lake behind rows of them, flowers spanning the field along with different monstrous animals that pay us no mind as looking up near the ceiling of the cube in large letters INVISIBILITY is spelled out with a light turned on. The teacher controls this Battle Cube and ahead of me there are some benches placed far away with items from the other classmates on them. Aura materializes next to me into human form except currently she is in her cat formation so its like a little sister version of her human version, which is her real form, that usually plays out during battles as she likes them too. Currently, Aura's fur is red and the eyes blue as if it were blue flames.

A thunderous boom pierces our ears, with a large bright light of ice blue is seen over the lake. We run towards it and make it to one of the open benches and two figures land on the patch of land in the center of the lake made of cement, circular with spires around it. One a girl with brown hair reach down to her neck, short jeans and a battle shirt on glowing yellow and purple. She looks up and an ice blue light streak shoots down towards her and she dodges as another light moves quickly towards her. She reflects it back with her shield shooting out lightning back along with the ice arrow attack that was shot towards her as, the second girl gets hit and falls into the water and freezes the it so she doesn't fall in. The second girl went flying so fast that all I could see was her blue hair in a streak.

"Seems like an interesting fight is going on between one of your party members, Kazuki." Aura says telepathically to me. I laugh a little and look towards Aura, petting her head, "The Ice Goddess, huh? Wasn't she just hit with a reflect attack?" As the sounds of battle play in the background, a screen pops up with the look of KillerZone that Aura brings up with his huge hammer.

"Another government official down! Can anyone stop this human train?" the title says. Reading further it says, "Starting out of nowhere, the man by the name of KillerZone has been storming different governmental buildings all across Kyoto leveling towns and cities in his wake. Our sources say he's heading towards the main city as he plans on taking down the Department of Defense here in Kyoto, it won't be long until he gets here!"

Aura looks up to me with her blue eyes, "That's where your mother is, Hitsuke. She could be coming any minute now."

Watching the fight continue, three ice blue arrows fly like missiles towards the opponent and she gets struck down, "Ooo, that's gotta cost some health." Don't really want to deal with my mother right now, "Hopefully she doesn't, she should have sufficient firepower to cause him to try someone else weaker."

"You know that's not gonna happen."

"I wish it would." I let out a long sigh.

Yuuzuko waves to me from the opposite side of the bench, wearing dark blue tank top, a double sword necklace with a strap sliding across his chest hold his double swords. Short jeans and black converse shoes. His medium-long dark brown hair covering his eye. He must've hair sprayed that thing. Sweating all over, "Kazuto! Over here!" Heading towards is the hard part because watching all the battles of Element players attacking each other's throats - I mean practicing - with their eye-catching moves. I reach Yuuzuko as the ground shakes and dust and dirt fills the air. A whistle blows loudly, echoing through the entire stadium as everything turns still. Dead silence. A referee yells, "Aoi Sanada wins! Airi Kokuto is down!"

Screams fill the stadium, applauses that only people would hear at concerts or grand events would hear as the dust settles revealing Aoi Sanada. Medium, straight, light brown hair with some bits and pieces of sky blue. Her T-shirt says, 'Good to be Ice Queen' when her personality is the complete opposite. Usually Queens aren't so gentle and pure, but princess are. Queens are uptight, but she's fun and laid back. Sweat drips from her forehead as the other person she demolished is all covered in dirt.

"Hitsuke-san," Yuuzuko yells for what probably has been the third time. Causing everyone to look at me, "It's our turn! You've been standing there for ten minutes looking at-"

I don't know what happened, my body moves on its own covering his mouth with one of my daggers against his neck, "Okay! Okay! We'll fight!" I see a smirk on his face after I let my hands go.

"You like Aoi. Everyone is going see it sooner or later." He pokes me, "If you're this unfocused then I'll probably have an easy spar."

A grunt leaves me subconsciously and I grab his finger, but he pulls it out of the way before that. "Stop. Poking. Me."

He pokes me again, "Fight me, then." He smiles, "See if you can pass me with my soul powers." He brings out his dual swords throwing the casing to the side as he takes off his black cape to place it on the bench. We walk away from the crowd, but the crowd soon encircles around us to watch the spar. Some on the bench, some on the ground and some above us on "ceiling chairs". Yuuzuko looks around with the biggest smile on his face, "Maybe they are interested."

Tsk. "You're gonna pay for poking me, Yuuzuko." I bring out my daggers and stand on a running stand, "Let's see if these daggers can put you in your place, but let's have fun in this spar, alright?" My legs itch, quiver, begging to move.

The referee stands back with the microphone and yells through the speakers, "Turn on Game System Mode." The area digitalizes into a field as everyone, but us, isn't in their character form, "Turn on your S.O.U.L!"

"Aura! Let's finish that little quest you spoke about earlier!" The flame in me grows brighter and brighter, my arms and legs itching to get the show on the road. Aura enters the field wearing a red dress fitting well with her skinny body. Her real form is introduced to the crowd. Long red hair flowing down her shoulders with eyes as blue as a blue flame. A hell of a body figure that I just adore with blue and red running shoes on her feet. She's the same age as me. I set that on when the program asked for when her birthday should be.

Yuuzuko's AI is the grim reaper himself. A hooded figure with soul taking purple eyes. A scythe that can cut anything in half with one swing and a dark air around him just as diabolical as Yuuzuko. The system makes AI based on our blood and wishes. I wanted a sister and the system found my smart, dangerous - also the itching to kill the bad guys - nature as the root of Aura. I named her that. Not too bad if I say so myself, but in all honesty if Aura wasn't here when she did I'd be a different person. So I might have to give some thanks to my dad whenever I get to see him.

Aura smirks and chuckles, "Long time no see, Reaper." She puts her elbow on my shoulder, "Looks like Yuuzuko here touched my Kazuto here several times. Don't ya' know he isn't very fond of that? He's gonna have to pay for that I'm afraid."

"Looks like you're as feisty as ever, Aura." Reaper's voice echoes, "You're buddy there needs to stop ignoring Yuuzuko, 'ya know?'"

"You mockin' me, Reap?" Aura stares me down, "Let's take the flame out of him, Kazuto." She smiles.

"Couldn't have said it better myself, Aura. Let's work together to get the W." My heart beat loses speed as I take in more oxygen, building my inner flame.
I need to calm down, don't want to get carried away by the emotion. I can feel the speed building up through me. Shaking my legs. I need an outlet. Just blow the whistle!

Mr. Teach finally raises his voice, "Ready!" The room starts losing its noise, slowly breathing, Yuuzuko's eyes staring bullets to me as I stare back with daggers, "Set!"

Almost there! I want to see if my strats work against him. Plans A-G are already studied and re-studied, the outcome is mine. All I need for him to do is blow his whistle.

The air stiffens into an immense still as everything around me slows down locking onto my spar partner for any possible moves. Sound rejoins at the last possible second as he blows the whistle for everyone to hear, "Start!"
