Beware the almighty 'Seer' who wanders the Murim. He knows all and sees all. The seer can predict the future and his predictions have never before been wrong. Those who heed his advice may be given a second chance while for all the others who don't... impeding doom awaits. The seer's words are absolute. How might you recognize him you ask...? There have been rumors of this man clad in black whose eyes shine a clean crimson glare right through his hermit hat when provoked. He is also rumored to be carrying a Demonic Sword. And if the rumors are to be believed he is actually quite young. P.S.: Yes, I am aware that the title might have turned out a bit inaccurate. Forgive this junior.
Militant Rule
Murim is a monarchy. However, that is rarely the case.
In this world of scheming and killing, all good emperors are dead emperors. There is no concept of a weak emperor; an emperor can either be a powerful one or a child emperor.
A weak emperor is either a dead one or not truly an emperor at all.
And when the throne falls into the hands of a child and ministers go corrupt, the power of generals becomes more distinct and more dominant. A powerful emperor is able to subdue the generals, but even the powerful fall, and frequently so in Murim.
Even when the ministers are loyal, the general, more times than not, have their way. In a world where a person's strength and cultivation are all that matters, the influence of the army is undeniable.
Amidst the constant turmoil and chaos, only one truly powerful stands atop. They are the chosen ones and there are the favored.
