Chapter 39: Misuzu`s Betryal

Jasmine rushed out of the bathroom as soon as she heard the scream coming from the outside. She left before Lois could say anything. 

Jasmine looked around the corner and saw there was a staircase going down. She looked to see two girls fighting for their life. She saw a brown-haired girl who had a pigtail on the ground. She wore a white uniform with a green at the top near her shoulders and a long skirt. The girl held the hand of another girl. 

The other girl had black hair tied in a bun. She had large black eyes and a small mouth. She wore a white uniform with a green at the top near her shoulders and a short skirt that went to her knees. She was holding her friend`s hand. All of a sudden her facial expression changed and she kicked the other girl`s hand. "Get off me," she shouted. 

The brown-haired girl looked in shock as her friend betrayed her. She was dragged down by the zombies, her striped yellow panties with lace and a ribbon on the front exposed. The zombies bit her neck and took a chunk of flesh out. She screamed in pain. Her black haired friend did not care as she ran away. 

Jasmine saw this and aimed the Red Hawk down her sight. She aimed for the head of the zombie. She could see a grey face and black eyes. It was horrific, she thought. She pressed the trigger and fired a shot. The gun had a lot of kick which Jasmine was able to control. The bullet travelled down and hit the zombie on the shoulder as he went backwards. The black haired girl saw the young woman firing a gun and ran towards her. 

Jasmine took aim and fired again at another zombie. She hit his eye. Blood splattered as he went down with a loud thud. There were two more zombies. She aimed her gun and fired. She hit the third zombie on the head. A bullet wound could be seen as he also went down. She quickly fired again and hit the remaining zombie on the nose. A hole was seen there as he went down as well. 

"Jasmine watch out to your left," Lois shouted as she aimed her M4W and fired a shot. The bullet travelled through the corridor behind Jasmine and hit the zombie on the face. The zombie stumbled back as he landed on the ground. 

"You should not be running on your own," Lois added.

"Thank you," Jasmine replied. She smiled knowing Lois had her back. She looked at the black-haired girl who came up the stairs. Jasmine glared at her.

"You let your friend die," Jasmine said.

She looked to see the brown skinned girl in front of her. She was beautiful, she thought. The word princess came to her mind. However, she had no remorse over her action. "They were going to kill us both, it was either me or her," she replied. 

Jasmine looked angry. "You could have tried to save her," Jasmine fired back.

"With what?" the black-haired girl replied back. She added, "This world you either live or die now and she was going to die." 

She stared at Jasmine. Jasmine stared back. Lois approached with Saya and Rei. Rei could feel the tension in the air. Saya looked like they were arguing. 

"Misuzu, what's happening?" Rei's voice trembled with concern as she carried her new gun in her hand. She personally did not know them, however around the school there were tales of her and Toshimi's inseparable bond as friends.

Jasmine's words hung heavy in the air. "She kicked her friend down and left her to die," Jasmine revealed. Rei and Saya's eyes widen, disbelief etching their features.

"Toshimi?" Rei's voice cracked. 

Misuzu's response was chilling, her eyes hollow. "She was grabbed by them and was about to die," Misuzu responded. 

Saya gasped. She was shocked, looking at her facial expression, there was not a hint of sadness. 

Jasmine added, "The poor girl was dragged down and bitten."

"I don't need to hear a lecture from an entitled woman like you," Misuzu said as she ran away. 

"Wait," Jasmine shouted.

Lois put her hand over Jasmine`s shoulder. "Let her go," she said. She paused and added, "This world will bring the worse side of people."

Jasmine nodded. "I know but it's still cruel," Jasmine replied. Jaffar had betrayed her and her family so she knew what it felt like but she was alive thanks to James and that poor girl is not. 

Saya felt sick. That was cruel to hear and watch. Friends betraying each other in the most horrible way possible. She looked at Jasmine and Lois for some reason she felt like she could trust them. They seemed like the people who would sacrifice it all for their friends. She had some hope in her. 

"Let's not dwell on this. It's not going to help anyone. We should go and meet up with James," Lois stated. 

Jasmine snapped out of her thoughts. "You are right, there are some people who are horrible like Jafar but there are good ones like James. You meet them all the time," Jasmine explained. She had a smile on her face once she mentioned James. 

Rei and Saya noted that Jasmine's mood changed once she mentioned James. They wondered what type of person he really is. They knew there was more to him. "Who is Jafar?" Saya asked.

Jasmine and Lois smiled. "Jasmine can tell you all about it but not now, we need to move," Lois remarked. 

"Okay, this gun, are you sure you want me to have it?" Rei asked as she held the grip for the M4W. 

"James wants you to have it," Lois replied. She looked at Saya. "We will get yours soon," she added.

Saya pouted. "I don't need anything from him," she replied but she did not mind getting something from him. 

At that moment, they heard a loud sound. It was not your typical gunshot noise but it was similar. It had a strange magnetic sound to it. "That is the Ray Gun being fired," Lois noted. 

"James must be down then," Jasmine said. 

"I think so too," Lois added. They headed downstairs, Lois looked at the dead zombies. The holes in their body were big. She looked at the Red Hawk and thought it definitely had power behind it. Saya and Rei followed them down. They strangely did not see the body of that girl which Misuzu betrayed. 

Rei took the rear. There was something about the gun, it was like it was telling her to use it and what it was capable of. 

Lois peered around the corner. She heard footsteps. She moved around the corner and pointed her gun forward. She saw James. "Careful Lois," James said. 

"I was being careful," Lois joked back. Lois looked behind and saw Takashi and Hisashi along with two women. One looked about Jasmine`s age while the other looked older than a student. 

Jasmine, Saya and Rei came down the stairs. Jasmine had the suitcase. Rei looked at Hisashi who had seen a ghost. The colour of his face was gone. "Hisashi, all good?" she asked. 

Hisashi did not respond and looked down holding the pipe. Takashi noted she had a gun similar to Lois` gun. He looked at James and thought there was something fishy for sure. 

"The staff room is over there, we can group up and talk about our next action," James stated. They all nodded and headed to the staff room.
