Glenn Cleansed

The newly designated team WYBRN was trailing behind Hanns towards the dark and gloomy underground section of Mountain Glenn. The silhouette of two tanks traversed the aging and destroyed remnants of the roads that connected the city.

"50,000 people used to live here. Now it's a ghost town." Hanns said.

After a few minutes of uneventful travel, Hanns, Torchwick, and team WYBRN arrived at the building Hanns used to stay at while exploring and clearing out Merlot's lab.

"We all meet back here, team WYBRN you'll be clearing out half while Torchwick and I will deal with the other half. Transfer some dust over will you?"

The request prompts members from team WYBRN to move some dust cases from Hanns' Tiger H1 to their Pz.IV H.

After they confirm its amount and store it safely in one of the ammo racks, the two tanks go in different directions.

"Okay, Lunchbox. What's the plan?" Torchwick asked from the commander's hatch of Hanns.

"Cover my top and support fire, I can deal with most of the enemies. I just need you to help out here and there." Hanns informs.

"I like it, simple, concise, and clear. A good plan Lunchbox."

As they turn towards another street, packs of grimm show themselves in the distance. The grimm hear the tank's engine and look toward the metal beast.

"You ready, Torchwick?"

"Ha! Ready as I'll ever be." He chuckled.

Meanwhile…

The distant cannon and flare shots signal team WYBRN that the pest extermination has begun. They travel along an empty street towards towering buildings almost reaching the surface.

Weiss opens the hatch to get more vision of the area. While the tank may be powerful, one surgical strike by an enemy to their weak points can be devastating.

Now that the tank has a crew inside, they need to be cautious of attacks when they fight.

They stop and spot a pack of beowolves towards a ruined hospital. Weiss gauges the distance and readies Neo, the gunner.

"Fire!"

The HE shell directly hits the center of the pack and explodes in a mass of hot shrapnel.

The sounds of footsteps and growls reach ears of Weiss. The humming of the engine was loud but if she got out of the hatch, she could still hear well enough.

"More are coming!"

Fearing getting surrounded, Weiss orders Yang to drive faster towards an abandoned hospital to take their stand from the approaching grimm.

Packs upon packs of differing grimm flood towards the noise that the gun created. A loud blasts escape once more from the barrel as Weiss ordered Neo to fire at will.

Seeing a deathstalker, Weiss quickly orders Ruby to load APCBC and make Neo aim for the tail.

Its tail is one of the parts that wasn't angled, and on Hanns' advice, they aimed for the parts that were less angled or had less armor covering it.

The deathstalker gets closer and team WYBRN can feel their blood pumping from the fight. A shot lands right at the halfway point in the tail.

Its tail gets severed and it dissolves into the air. The deathstalker hisses in pain from the loss of one of its limbs.

The deathstalker, angered, tries to reach for the tank but it reverses at an unnatural speed. They quickly dodge an attack and Neo fires another shell toward its legs.

The shot hits and the deathstalker is forced to be immobile. Weiss orders the tank to go around and kill the mortally wounded deathstalker.

They reach the unangled side of the deathstalker and end its misery by putting a tank round directly at its dying body.

Creeps start to gather from the surroundings of where they were. Neo fires but more of them try surrounding the team WYBRN.

The tank rushes forwards, crushing some underneath the vehicle while turning the gun around to fire at the creeps in pursuit.

The shot incinerates the rest of the creeps and the dust settles. The decaying bodies confirm their kills and all of them breathe a sigh of relief.

"I can hear more! Not anywhere near us though…"

Weiss looks around to see exactly what she described. A thought crosses her head and she quickly tries retreating into the tank.

'Above!'

Weiss quickly shuts the commander hatch in time before creeps land right on top of the tank.

"Yang! Shake them off! Neo, fire at anything in front of us!"

The tank starts unnaturally accelerating at a faster pace, unnoticed by the members of team WYBRN except for Yang.

"I don't think we're supposed to go this fast," Yang points out.

The rest of the team now notice the speeds they were traveling.

"Stop the tank!"

At the command, Yang stomps on the brakes, throwing off the creeps from the top of their tank, and launches them to the front. Neo takes the chance and sends a shell to the pack of creeps.

The tank was going way too fast, the brakes did little to stop it.

"Weiss, we're going to hit the wall!"

Weiss felt her semblance activating, she gripped the handles on the inside of the tank and something remarkable happened.

Gravity dust disappeared from the ammo racks and a second later a large glyph surrounded the tank to hold it still.

'What the? I'm not using Myrtenaster though!'

The crew gets pushed forward from the sudden stop but the tank has safely comes to a stop. Now though wasn't a time to rest, more grimm reach the site and Weiss pops her head out from the hatch to see.

Weiss orders to reverse, Yang follows but the unnatural speed gets noticed by all of the crew. Weiss looks towards the front and a curious sight presented itself.

'Are those…rose petals?'

From where the racks met the sprocket, petals were being conjured out of nowhere. Similar to how a certain cookie lover's semblance worked.

'No way.'

Another strange situation caught the attention of Weiss. The creeps grimm didn't pursue them. They were running around as if they were following something.

'What the.'

A beowolf pounced into the air and struck at nothing before everyone heard the loud sound of glass shattering. Everyone staring at a viewport was in disbelief.

"Neo, was that your semblance?"

Neo looked at them and nodded. This confirmed one thing Weiss had on her mind.

"The tank itself has our semblances?!"

Everyone freezes from the revelation, some in bewilderment and others in awe.

Neo takes the opportunity to fire at the confused grimm that followed the illusion of a tank instead of the real one.

Weiss snaps out from her surprise and checks around. Two more deathstalker round the corners of the street. One in the front and another at the back.

The one in the back charges them and attacks with its stinger, threatening to pierce the tank's weaker top armor.

"Blake! Clones!"

A sudden force jolts the tank forwards and in its place was a perfect clone of the tank made of ice.

The deathstalker's stinger and the tail get entrapped in a layer of solid frost. The sudden push from Blake's semblance sends them towards the deathstalker at their front unintentionally.

The deathstalker claws at the front which prompted Neo to fire a shot towards it, which only staggers the grimm, a ricochet could be seen from the impact.

To the surprise of everyone, the gun starts glowing a dull shade of gold from the attack the deathstalker just sent.

"Yang! It's your semblance!" Ruby exclaimed.

They reverse towards the deathstalker with its tail trapped. A shot pierces its side as the tank start reversing at greater speed away from either deathstalker.

"Neo! Make it turn around!"

An illusion was made for their tank going in the opposite direction. The deathstalker sees it and starts to turn around to chase the fake illusion.

The deathstalker strikes but is only left confused when it hears glass breaking, the illusion shatters and it reveals the fake.

An APCBC round directly enters its tail and traveled all the way through to its center and dies. The shell detonates from the inside, sending bits of carapace and decaying flesh to the surrounding area.

More grimm find their way facing down the metallic beast that roamed the streets. The tank turns to fire more shots towards packs of grimm, when they leaped from the buildings, Weiss used her semblance through the tank and created glyphs to throw off the grimm attempting to attack its weaker top armor.

Dust was getting used at a steady pace, the stockpile declining as time went on.

An alpha beowolf watches from the corner with Its head poked out from a building. The alpha beowolf screeches, calling for its fellow grimm to attack the tank team WYBRN was in.

The surrounding landscape howled in response, the hundreds of grimm ready to engage in battle.

The screech was heard and team WYBRN prepared for a long fight.

They dodged with impeccable speeds, using Ruby's semblance to the fullest by speeding out of harm while Neo takes the time to aim and shoot when possible.

They attack and defend using their semblances alongside the tank. Weiss sent out glyphs to make them even faster at accelerating while Blake's clones helped them get out of sticky situations.

Neo focused more on aiming but from time to time tricked alphas and mutants to turn around and expose their vulnerable sides.

It felt like only moments passed for team WYBRN, the fight came to a slow close. The team members were getting exhausted, not only from the constant use of their semblance but also from the focus needed to fight.

"Is that all of them?" Blake asked.

A groan was heard from the driver's side of the tank.

"Don't jinx it, Blake."

A sudden noise alerted everyone in the tank. Weiss opened the hatch to spot the enemy. She looked around only to see nothing but the decaying bodies of the grimm they slaughtered.

The nearby walls burst as a massive mutated deathstalker enters the battle. It swiped at the tank, ripping out its side skirts, and dented the right hull.

The tank was sent towards the wall but stops thanks to Weiss' gravity glyph. The deathstalker doesn't stop its attack and sends out spikes toward the still tank.

Weiss urged the team to use their semblances together to dodge. They barely dodge the barrage of fire, spikes still struck the back part of the tank and the engine starts suffering damage.

The gun glows even brighter.

"Weiss! What do we do?" Blake asks in a panic.

Weiss was pressured by the damage they had received but tried to focus on finding a solution. Ruby instead raised her voice to tell the team her plan, which irritated Weiss but she knew Ruby had great ideas.

"Neo sends out an illusion to turn it around like last time, I'm loading in DI-APCBC in this one."

Neo follows her plan and makes an illusion that they were circling the deathstalker.

What they didn't expect was for the deathstalker to send out spikes from the ground and impaled everything around it. The illusion breaks and team WYBRN is forced to think of another solution.

The deathstalker rushes forward while continuing to send out spikes toward the tank. Some pierce the top but most broke at the stronger frontal armor.

"Try going for the legs or tail again Neo," Weiss commanded.

The deathstalker's tail gets cut in half as it roars in pain. It doesn't seem to affect its attack however as it continues sending spikes from its head that pierce the top of the tank.

"Gah! That was close!" Yang yelped out.

Neo starts aiming for the legs but was surprised at the deathstalker bunkering down and covering its front with its claws. It sat in the middle of the street and covered itself.

She tries to hit it anyways but sparks occur when its armored claw sends the shell ricochet towards the back.

The deathstalker has learned how to fight team WYBRN. It didn't see the worth of walking and chasing it around, it saw that spikes did the damage so it continued to do so.

"What are we going to do? Should we just abandon the tank or run?" Yang asks.

"No, the moment we try getting out it's gonna shoot at us. The armor from this tank is our best bet even if some of the spikes land at the top." Blake answers.

They were stuck, it couldn't shoot at it since it'll ricochet shots. Illusions would be met with more spikes to break the illusion. Running away would work but they still had to face the deathstalker again later.

"Everyone, you're not gonna like this but…"

Ruby explained her outlandish idea but they tried it nonetheless.

They come to a stop to face the deathstalker, it screeches while it prepares to attack again.

Instead of running away the tank charges directly at the deathstalker. It remembers the illusion that it experienced before, it guesses that it was another attempt to fool it.

The deathstalker charges itself and slams the ground, sending spikes all around it.

The tank suddenly gets replaced by a clone made of earth. The deathstalker looks up to see the tank being supported by glyphs, which were flickering from the weight.

"Go! I can't hold it!" Screamed Weiss.

Dust was starting to drain at an accelerated pace, the deathstalker tries to hit it in the air but the tank is too fast. Aided by Ruby's semblance and Weiss' solid glyph it traveled towards the deathstalker in the air.

The tank leaps off a glyph, and a clone of earth created by Blake's semblance pushes it at an angle, the barrel stares down at the mutant deathstalker below it and it glows a bright yellow.

The damage received by the tank empowers the gun, the DI-APCBC shell ignites and breaks the sound barrier as soon as it gets struck by the pin in the breach.

The shell instantly travels down towards the deathstalker and detonates. The ground bulges as the dust-infused round punches straight through its tough armor.

The angling that was present on the front deathstalker was made worthless by the angle of attack being low. The deathstalker didn't get to wail in pain as the explosion consumes it.

Team WYBRN is sent falling to the ground but stabilizes by the presence of Weiss glyph guiding them towards the ground. The entire tank lands on the ground but smashes into a building.

The entire chassis of the tank is destroyed, and its gun is damaged from the tank smashing into a building. Team WYBRN gets thrown around from the tumble but the aura made them resist getting knocked out when they hit the walls of the tank.

They all groaned from getting tossed around but they eventually reorient themselves and slump from aura exhaustion from using their semblances too much.

Blake got out of the vehicle and checked the condition of the tank, she grimaced at the extensive damage on the chassis and went back into the tank. She checked the radio and fiddled with it.

She felt a tingling sensation towards the back of her throat before she spoke.

"Hanns, ze transmission broke."

Blake was surprised, her voice suddenly shifted in tone when she spoke.

'What was that accent?'

Yes, I indeed wanted to make that statement the whole time.
