A Roman Mishap Pt.1

It had been a day for Hanns. He was kept busy by just thinking and testing out ideas with Neo on the specifics of his tank's interaction with the world, which included things on aircraft.

Hanns and Neo slept outside after they had finished that acquisition of dust. They woke up early to keep testing out ideas which led to the current situation.

Neo was currently standing in the middle of a clearing. She twirled her parasol and shielded her eyes from the sun as she gazed upwards.

Towards the sky was Hanns in a bi-plane diving down towards the ground. He couldn't take Neo with him so she was assigned damage control.

As Hanns flew in closer to the surrounding trees he formed into his Tiger H1 mid-flight and braced himself as the transformation ended.

The first time they tried this, Hanns and Neo panicked. The dust stored suddenly shot out with some of the cases still inside Hanns. They were still on the ground so it didn't explode.

If Hanns placed dust in the ammo racks and formed into something that had less storage, then the excess would shoot out.

It meant that storage was going to be a problem if he was transforming from big storage to a low one. Thankfully they left everything outside Hanns for now.

The Tiger H1 crashed towards the nearby forest as Neo eyed the result. Every tree, small plant, and critter in the direct path was destroyed.

Hanns recovered from the disorientation, he made sure he was going to land upright. It would be a nightmare for him to figure out how to get out of that one.

'The idea works, I could demolish Cinder with this foolhardy tactic.'

'Though maybe sticking to using the gun was going to be better.'

His transmission, tracks, and anything underneath him were wrecked. It couldn't handle the speeds and the impact. He felt the repairs happening before Neo walked in front of him.

"Ice cream again, Neo?" Hanns assumed.

Neo shook her head and formed her hand into a triangle before mimicking claws. It took a while for Hanns to figure it out but eventually, he did.

"Mountain Glenn? Does Roman need something?"

Neo nodded in response.

Roman has been there alone for only close to a day. Hanns was curious as to why Roman asked for Neo. Roman only ever called for her when something important was coming up.

'I mean I still have to clear out the underground portion, not to mention that it's gonna take a long time, although…'

Hanns looks at Beacon in the distance. Weiss and Blake had already fixed their disputes with each other last week. It was a Friday and in canon, it was supposed to be the day they would fight and eventually reconcile with each other.

'Maybe I should get team RWBY in on it.'

It was going to be a risk on how the team would react to Neo and Roman being criminals but they would eventually need to meet each other formally.

'Alright, it's as good a time as ever to let them in on Cinder and the wider world.'

Hanns still needed to do something which was to create a large space for his take-off using a bomber.

"Neo could you help me clear out a bigger field? I need some space for the bomber."

The bomber he was going to buy was the Do 17 E-1, the first bomber available to the german aviation tree.

'I'm just going to buy this now.'

SL =  4,194,203 → 4,193,503 SL

VEHICLE RP =  4,532 → 1,632 RP

Hanns needed a temporary take-off point for his bomber. Since he needed the larger space to store the dust.

Neo pouts, probably from Hanns making her do hard labor.

"Can't do anything about it, Neo. Either this or we ask Ozpin of all people to let us use his school as an airfield."

Neo rolls her eyes and walks towards the field to clear it of any large debris.

'Good thing I can use tow hooks.'

"Anyways, send a message to Torchwick on your scroll to find a road wide enough for me to fit as a bomber. Make him shoot a flare when we get close."

Neo makes her hand into an "ok" symbol before taking out her scroll.

'I suppose I'll send the message to Blake later. Can't let them get to Torchwick first and start throwing hands.'

An hour later at team RWBY's dorm…

Blake's ears twitch again from the sudden telepathic message Hanns keeps sending.

She calmly puts down her book and wanders over to the rest of her team to discuss what they'd do today.

"We need to go to Mountain Glenn," Blake suggests.

Weiss who was convincing the others raises her voice on the outlandish suggestion.

"What?! We are supposed to visit the docks to scout the competi-, I mean welcome the other students to our school!"

"Do you want to put it to a vote again?" Yang says with a smirk on her face.

Weiss visibly gets more irritated "I hate you guys sometimes."

Yang puts a hand to her heart and wipes an imaginary tear "Aww, thanks, Weiss. That means a lot to us."

"What are we going to do then?" Ruby asks.

Blake ponders for a moment.

"Let's get to Vale and find a bullhead willing to go to Mountain Glenn."

The others nod in acceptance. Yang speaks up when she notices the recurring theme of Hanns showing up and not speaking any further.

"Does Hanns do this every time? Asking us to do something and not saying anything else?"

Blake glanced at Yang.

"You'll get used to it."

Ruby punched her fist into the air. Excited to try and meet with Hanns again.

"Onwards team RWBY! Oough!"

She rushes straight for the door only to meet with Ozpin who was trying his best not to spill his coffee being held by his right hand.

"Why in such a rush on a Friday, girls?"

The group stared at the Headmaster who Ruby ran into.

"Headmaster Ozpin!"

Ruby stood up and quickly made an excuse.

"Uhh… Weiss wanted to spy on the students participating in the tournament!"

Weiss narrowed her eyes only to relax a moment later when she was technically planning on doing so.

"Hey! Well, I do but-"

Before Weiss could reason with Ozpin, he held up his hand with a palm, asking Weiss to not continue.

"I know the Vytal Festival has a tournament as one of its events but you don't have to take everything so seriously."

The team stood still to slowly process Ozpin's advice before he continued.

"It's just fun and games," Ozpin says as he takes a sip from his coffee-filled mug.

Ruby takes a stance and whips around to point at Weiss who questions the action of her team leader.

"Blame Weiss! She's the grumpy one here! Anyways we got to go!

Ruby used her semblance to speed off down the hall. The rest of the team only bow in apology and follow suit.

"Excuse us, Headmaster."

As the figures of team RWBY go farther away and eventually move out of sight, Ozpin takes another sip of his coffee.

"Hmm…Mountain Glenn… how curious."

As they reached the terminal where bullheads gather passengers, a problem presented itself to team RWBY.

"No bullheads are heading to Mountain Glenn! They don't want to get close to it." Yang said.

The pilots didn't want to risk their lives by flying to a presumably infested area full of grimm.

"I'll handle this."

Weiss walks towards one of the bullheads and prepares to negotiate with the pilot. The team follows, curious as to what she meant by handling it.

As the group gets close, the pilot recognizes the four of them and grumbles in annoyance.

"You four again. I told you I won't fly-"

"I'll double the payment."

The pilot stops for a moment to consider.

"...sorry but-"

"Triple…"

"Geez but still-"

"Quadruple…"

"...fine I'll fly you-"

"Quintuple!" She screams, loud enough for passersby to see what the commotion is.

"Lady I alrea-"

"I'll pay you ten times the amount!"

"Alright, alright! Just pay me the normal amount! On one condition, don't ever come to me for a flight to Mountain Glenn again. Damn crazy kids…"

Weiss turns back to the group who were palming their faces at the display.

"What was that about?" Blake questions Weiss' way of negotiating.

"Father said that throwing money at a problem will eventually fix it," Weiss responds normally, expecting it was common sense.

"I don't think he meant it in that way, even if Jacques is a horrible person." Blake comments.

"Yeah, didn't you say you detest your father?" Yang points out.

Weiss shrugged.

"Well, it worked out with other things." She explains.

"Including this one I assume?" Blake asks.

"Yes?" Weiss started to doubt herself judging by her friend's reaction.

"Oh no, how do we fix this one, girls?" Yang turns to whisper to the others.

Ruby interrupts the conversation.

"Enough about that! Let's go, I wanna properly meet Hanns!"

Ruby was very excited the moment Blake suddenly made them go to Mountain Glenn. The last time she met the mechanical monstrosity she died a total of three times.

"You sure you won't just die again, Rubes?" Yang asks with concern.

It wasn't the first time Ruby had lost consciousness over being too excited. Yang didn't want her little sister to lose out on seeing the machine Hanns was.

"No, I know I will die."

The team was surprised at Ruby's brutal honesty to herself.

"That's why I brought these." Ruby shows her duffel bag. The sight of the bag intrigued the other members. Blake stepped forwards.

"Can I take a look?" Blake asks. Ruby obliges her request and handed her bag over to Blake.

Blake takes the bag off Ruby's hand and checks its contents. She says out loud what things are in the bag for the rest of the team to hear.

"Blood bags, equipment for a field transfusion, defibrillator, and other stuff. Umm… Ruby? The things in here make sense but may I ask…why is there milk here?" Blake brings out the carton of milk.

"You'll never know Blake… you'll never know…"

Blake just slowly nods not fully understanding why a carton of milk was in her bag and hands everything back to Ruby.

"Are you going to stay there? I'd like to get this trip over with." Weiss impatiently asked.

Everyone hurries up and boards the bullhead. Minutes later they could see Mountain Glenn at a short distance.

"That's weird." The pilot exclaims. "There's usually a ton of grimm just roaming around. I could get you girls down to the entrance. Can you handle yourselves?"

"Yeah! We're huntresses!" Ruby proclaims.

"In training" Weiss adds.

Ruby, undeterred by Weiss, assures her team even more.

"Still! We can handle everything!"

"Alright then, here we are. Don't expect me to come back here so you can call one of my buddies." The pilot hands over a card.

"Can't I just hire you and buy your bullhead?" Weiss asks.

"Public service, can't privatize that."

The team rolls their eyes at Weiss' attempt at trying to solve a problem by throwing even more money at it.

After the bullhead leaves, they all walk towards the entrance, weapons at the ready. They walk a good distance within the city before they notice the lack of grimm anywhere.

"Seems like the pilot does have a point, where are the grimm? There's not a singl-"

Everyone gets startled by an explosion sounding from somewhere in the city.

"I can tell where it came from, want to check it out?" Blake looks at her team all nodding. The team follows Blake towards the noise. Blake silently hoped that nothing would go wrong.
