The Beginning of our Conquest

Stuck in an eternal black abyss for what seems over centuries, he couldn't really remember anything as his mind was slowly corrupted by the darkness. He started acting psychotic and unstable for what seemed like his whole time here until he finally regained his composure. Everything was blank, no sign of life and all he had was the memories of his past life to keep himself company. His past-life of doing nothing but reading novels and working at a job which he didn't take seriously.

The darkness began to envelop on itself until it dissipated and was replaced by a blinding light that opposed what he'd been bathing in for his time here. Looking around, observing the surroundings with hope in his eyes his eyes found a golden goblet hovering, slowly spinning in an endless space of white. A parchment was also floating under the goblet which seemed to contain some instructions.
