2 Patience is required

In a large and luxurious mansion; the loud and pain-filled wails of a woman could be heard echoing all throughout the halls of the mansion.

If one were to go into the room, they would see a scene; that some would call beautiful, and others would call mentally scarring.

A beautiful woman with long black hair stuck to her face and a sweat-filled robe was giving birth. In the room with her were her four closest/personal servants. They were helping their mistress give birth to their new young master.

After a few hours of yelling, shouting, and pain, a new life was finally taking its... His first breath. The woman, after hours of labor, was exhausted. But once she saw her baby boy, she felt full of life and energy.

In a different room, pacing back and forth, was a handsome man with a worried look on his face. The noise from his wife's room had finally died down. Having enough of the silence, he was about to rush and barge into his wife's room, but stopped when he saw his door begin to open.

One of his wife's servants was finally coming out.

"Please follow me, Lord Shen. Mistress is tired, so please don't stress her out too much, and I am happy to say that the young master is a very beautiful boy and will surely be very handsome when he grows up."

Not knowing what to say, the man just nodded and silently followed his wife's servant.

As soon as the man saw his wife gently holding their son, as she played with him, wearing a loving smile, he fell in love with her all over again.

Looking up to her husband, the woman handed her newborn son to him.

"Husband, come to say hi to our son."

The man nervously received his son, making sure to properly support him. The man looked at his son's face and instantly felt a connection to him.

'T-this is my son. I never thought that having a child could feel so fulfilling. Just look at those eyes, there are filled with intelligence and curiosity. I can tell he is going to be strong and bring big change to the world.'

"My son. No, our son is going to be someone important. Have you decided on a name yet?"

"Nope, I wanted you to pick a name for him. I know it's important for you."

"Thank you," looking at his son for a bit, a name came to him. "Shen Xiaowen, that is his name." (A/n: his name will change in the future.)

*Timeskip 5 years*

In a big room, with books scattered across the floor. A young boy with half white half black hair was reading a book. It only took a few minutes for the boy to put aside the book and pick up a new one.

Today marked the 5th year of the boy's reincarnation: and in those five years, he has learned quite a lot.

It took him a while, but he got used to being called young master by the maid and Xiaowen by his family and friends. He learned he was born way before cannon. In fact, he was born a little over 100 years before the devil's civil war.

From the books he has read and information he gathered, he was born found that he was born in the early Ming dynasty, and luckily for him, he was born in a well-off and loving (for the most part) family.

So he had a long time to relax, enjoy life, and train for upcoming events. Who knows, he may even visit a world or two.

Reading and gathering information isn't the only thing he has done; he has practiced using what few powers he has access to.

Unlike the original Schrödinger, who was everywhere and nowhere/Omnipresence, he only existed in one location, but he could teleport small distances.

He could also heal small wounds by believing they didn't exist, but didn't try anything too drastic since he didn't know if he could focus if he was in too much pain.

As for his sacred gear, he can't feel it yet, let alone summon it. He wasn't sure when he would be able to, but when it was possible, he planned to go to Japan since there seemed to be a lot of stray devils there.

In a few minutes, he finished the book he had just picked up. He was about to start on a third when a knock on the door stopped him.

"You may enter."

Once he said that, a beautiful woman entered the room. This woman was Xiaowen's personal maid, Wen Xue, who has looked after him since he was a baby. She was a close friend of his mother, and in return for letting her daughter work for their family, she agreed to become Xiaowen's maid.

"Good morning, young master. Sorry to bother you so early, but your parent have requested your presence in the courtyard."

"No problem Xue, please lead the way."

It didn't take long for them to reach the courtyard garden, where Xiaowen's parents were sitting under a pergola.

Xiaowen continued walking as Xue stood back and waited. As he got closer, Xiaowen noticed that his parent had a serious expression, something they rarely did.

"Mother, father, good morning. Is something the matter?"

"Come here, my little boy, and no, nothing is wrong, honey. We just have something important to talk to you about."

Happily going to sit on his mother's lap, Xiaowen let himself get comfortable as he rested his head against her pillow breast while she hugged him.

His father soon interrupted the feeling of sleepiness and comfort that his mother always gave him.

"Now, my son, listen carefully, unlike other birthdays, where we would have to attend a party, your 5th birthday is quite an important one. We have a secret to tell you... You see, we aren't like other families or normal people. We belong to a long line of Taoists, but not like the ones you know of. We practice physical cultivation, alchemy, martial arts, and neidan."

His father took a sip of tea before continuing to speak.

"Today, you are going to take your first steps into cultivation. You will pick two of these six-manual, one to practice spiritual cultivation, and another for physical or body cultivation. In a few days, an old friend of mine is coming to visit, and they are going to teach you martial arts, so be ready. That's all I have to say."

After his father finished speaking, he left to go somewhere, leaving the mother-son duo alone.

"Go ahead and look at the manuals, my sweet boy."

Reluctantly, Xiaowen left the warm and soft body of his mother. Xiaowen picked up the three old books that were resting on the small table next to where his father was sitting. Xiaowen read the description of the six books.

His mother knew how smart her Xiaowen was and how fast he could read, so she became a little worried seeing how her son was struggling.

"Are you okay, little Xiao? Is something wrong?"

"Hmmm, I don't know. I don't want to be rude, but these seem kind of; well weak."

Confused by her son's words, she quickly got up and took the books from him. It was there for less than a second, but when Xiaowen's mother read the manuals, her eyes narrowed.

With a smile on her face, she reached into her sleeves and took out two old books.

"Sorry about that, my sweet boy. Your father must have given you the wrong books, here take these. Now, please excuse me; I have lunch plans with Yao Jia."

Once Xiaowen saw the two manuals his mother gave him, he was happy with what he saw.

{Eight phases of the moon}

[The strength of the mind is just as, if not more important than the strength of the body. Even the strongest of men can have his mind broken. The mind is a powerful and mysterious force, and so is the moon. If one can connect to the moon, their mind shall never break. Even if the moon were to leave the sky.]

{Body of the magmatic forge}

[If one were to absorb the energy of the earth and bathe in its blood (magma & lava), it would reform the body. Your flesh, bones, and muscle become earth, and blood becomes magma; as long as you are connected to the earth, you will never weaken, for you are its child and have its blessing and protection.]
