*Gaah!*

The last zombie fell down on the ground along with the bodies of several others.

Yuuji and Saeko stood side by side with their weapons after massacring the bunch while Saya and the fat dude had their backs on the wall.

*TACK!* *TACK!* *TACK!*

Sound of footsteps came from outside of the room causing Saeko to assume her stance again.

Yuuji placed a hand on her shoulder and said: "It's fine. The footsteps are too rhythmic. It can't be a zombie."

Saeko nodded her head silently but didn't lose her stance.

Yuuji internally praised her focus and decision-making abilities.

It's not like she didn't believed in his words, it was just unlike her to drop her guard in such a situation.

After a moment, three people entered the room. One girl and two boys.

"What happened here? And who shouted?" Takashi voiced out as he saw the pile of corpses lying on the floor.

"It seems someone already took out the threat." Hisashi commented as she kicked the head of one of the zombies.

"Takagi-san, are you alright?" Rei noticed Saya at the side of the room. She arrived by her side and asked with while waving a hand in front of Saya's face.

Saya broke out of her reverie and looked at Rei: "Huh? Oh, Yeah! I'm alright! Why wouldn't I be?!"

"Kohta? You are alive!" Takashi exclaimed as he noticed the fat dude beside Saya.

Saya grouted her teeth and glared at Takashi. She was his childhood friend!!

Shouldn't he be more worried about her?

Instead, he didn't even asked Saya about her safety. It was an open secret for Takashi's friend circle that Saya had a crush on Takashi for so long.

That is the reason, Saya didn't like Rei that much. Since there are some rumors that Takashi has feelings for Rei.

While they were having their short reunion, Yuuji and Saeko were on the sidelines watching all of them.

"Saeko, I think that zombies are attracted to sound waves. I noticed that they followed me when I made some noise, even when Marikawa-sensei was closer to them."

"That is a useful piece of information. We should do some more experiments to determine any other possibilities." Saeko replied with a calculative tone.

*HAH!* *HAH*

"Why did you both just leave me like that?!" Shizuka asked as she finally arrived in the room while heavily breathing.

'It's not much of a surprise that she is so tired.' Yuuji thought as she looked at her large 'watermelons'.

"huh? What is going on?" Shizuka mumbled with a lost expression as she saw everyone's gaze on her.

"Saeko, I think we should find a empty room to take a breath and think this through." Yuuji suggested.

"Yes. It will be best to first reorganize our thoughts in this situation." Saeko agreed easily as this seemed to be the best mode of action right now.

Unlike Yuuji, The current series of events were completely unprecedented for everyone else. They were unprepared for anything like this.

The idea of having to fight for your life one day was itself were very unfeasible. Even Saeko, who was mostly calm, couldn't help but question the practicality of the current crisis.

"And why are you just making decisions for everyone here!!" Saya shouted as she collected her own bearings.

"I didn't made decision for anyone…" Yuuji replied calmly.

"…I only asked Saeko, and I assume Marikawa-sensei will also come with us. You all can do whatever you want."

Yuuji didn't wanted to argue with someone like her. It would only help in making him lose some brain cells, so it is better to let her do what she wanted.

"What are you talking about, Kazami? We should stick together as much as possible for now!"

Takashi. What is the reasoning behind that? So that the zombies could eat all of us in a group?

Ok, Jokes aside. His advice wasn't practical at all. Sticking together would only lead to more infights. Yuuji could already tell that he won't get along with someone like Saya too much.

For the record, he liked smart girl. To be more honest, he preferred smart girls.

But…

She wasn't smart at all!

Any smart person would've already caught on that 'they' can hear the sound.

Any smart person wouldn't bitch out on her own team members.

Any smart person wouldn't encourage infighting in the group like she did.

Ok, there aren't any more things to point out.. yet.

But the point was… She isn't a 'genius'.

It would've been wonderful, if she was. That would've added one more brain to the group. But that would be too much of a wishful thinking.

"Let's go, Saeko. Sensei, do you also want to come?"

"Of course!"

Well, at least her personality is likeable. Not to mention, he hasn't told her anything about not making too much noise at all.

So she's clear.

Other than that, he doesn't sugarcoat his words at all. He is also a hard worker, since she never saw him skip the club.

More or less, he was a type of guy she preferred.

What would he think, when he finds out about my past? About my true personality.

"Hey! Don't just decided everything on your own! We shouldn't split up like this." Takashi shouted as he saw that the trio were departing.

"We should also follow them." Rei commented while looking at Hisashi.

"Yeah. It is better to stay together, and his suggestion isn't really bad." Hisashi agreed with her.

Takashi nodded at Hisashi as they started walking after Yuuji's group.

While leaving the room, Saya accidentally stepped on the leg of one of the zombies causing her to flinch. She looked at the corpse for a second and then started walking away while a thought entered her mind

'Is this what 'she' meant by that?'

"Just what the hell is going on? From where did those 'things' started popping out?!" Takashi exclaimed as they were gathered all gathered in the staff room.

His question only met silence. Neither did anyone bothered not did anyone knew themselves.

Saeko was standing at the side while gazing out of the window. Yuuji was also close to her, leaning on the same wall.

Rei, Takashi and Hisashi were grouped together while Saya and Kohta were on the other side of the room.

Shizuka was sitting alone on the chair while looking at everyone around her, trying to figure out how to dissolve the heavy atmosphere.

She seemed to have figured out something as she grabbed a remote from the table and turned on the TV.

(The appearance of living dead in japan has caused a havoc in the whole world.)

Everyone's heads turned towards the TV. Anyone would want to know the situation outside at this point.

(The Prime minister of Japan has not yet responded to the situation.)

(From our reports the government has decided to evacuate the citizens from the areas where 'they' are spotted in large numbers.)

(Every citizen is requested stay away from 'them' as much as possible and evacuate the area with police when instructed.)

(We request the citizens to stay calm and follow the--)

*SCREEK!*

The signal disappeared as only white lines were shown on the screen.

Silence pervaded the whole room as Shizuka hastily tried to turn off the TV to cut off the radio noise.

"So we are not alone in this, huh?"

"I mean, that was already pretty obvious..."

"What are you talking about?"

"There is no way that those things only started popping out in our school, right?"

"Hey! Don't say that so casually!"

"You both should just shut up! You are making the matters even worse!"

Rei shouted as she came between Takashi and Hisashi who were about to get into an argument.

Now that Yuuji thought about it, Shouldn't Hisashi be already dead?

In the original adaptation, Hisashi was bitten by one of the zombies in the beginning and was killed by Takashi.

So that means, he should've already died.

Is this one of those butterfly effects? Due to his presence, hisashi's death date changed?

Will there be any other change as well?

"It is important that we are all on the same page here." Saeko stated as she turned her gaze from outside to look at Takashi and Hisashi.

"Just calm down and take a seat, everyone. We have to think about what we will do next." Shizuka advised as she tried to soothe things a little.

"Fine!"

Takashi replied as he sat down. Hisashi and Rei also followed suit.

Such a mascot…

"Then… what should we do next?" Rei asked as they settled down.

"We should first get out of the school. I think it should be fairly obvious to anyone." Saya commented with a 'hmph'.

Kohta had a big smile on his face as he blatantly continued stared at Saya while hugging his self-made nail gun.

It was a gun he made himself by using some mechanics used behind an actual gun.

"How will we escape? They are nearly everywhere!" Hisashi said.

"But we can't just stay here, right? We have to do something!"

"We can't rely on the government too much. They will easily disregard the lives of the citizens. The threat is much bigger than it seems. You can become one of them just by getting bitten once. I think they will just wait for few more days to analyze the situation, if situation gets too out of hand.… Other countries might even drop a nuke on Japan." Saya said, trying to sound the most dependable and smart in the whole room.

"You are right. But..." Yuuji voiced out for the first time.

"… There are more variables at play here than it seems. You just stated the obvious, making everyone even more scared. You think no one else could see that?"

"Wha--"

"Instead of stating the obvious, think deeply about the situation first. It's true that other countries may take extreme measures if they are desperate. But., That's where the nature of human comes at play."

"What do you mean?" Takashi asked as everyone's attention was drawn by Yuuji.

"It is human nature to try making out the most of the situation. You think that the authorities will let this opportunity go? The appearance of 'them' was unprecedented for anyone. Aside from the fear, their is also curiosity, and most importantly… Greed."

"They would most likely start doing research and investigations on 'thm' to supposedly 'revolutionalize' the world. As you all would've already noticed, the physical capabilities are much higher than humans. I can bet that they will be thinking something like 'They are appearing in Japan for now, our country is too far away. We will be safe as long as we take precautions'."

"In this type of situation, other countries will make Japan the scapegoat to try and earn profit from this crisis."

"They will let the Japan government handle the outbreak for now, after some time, if the situation gets too out of hand, all the while taking Zombies from Japan to research on."

"That is just my Thesis. But I think this will most likely come true."

No one said anything during his speech and even after it was over.

This much thinking of the future!!

It was just a conjecture, but if they think about it, the probability of this coming true was pretty high.

Saya's eyes were wide as saucers as she felt her jaw dropping to the ground. She didn't even thought about this.

As a 'genius', she was supposed to be the one in the front. The one who will be flawless, the one to whom everyone will listen to.

The most infuriating thing was that she had to admit that what he said was quite justifiable.

It wouldn't cross someone's mind, but sounded very possible once they heard it.

"Em… Kazami, aren't you being too pessimistic here?" Takashi commented while scratching the back of his head.

"I'm just thinking of the worst that could happen, so that we would be ready if anything happens."

"It is better if we are prepared for everything. As circumstances seem so, we will first leave the school, since the number of zombies are increasing here." Saeko supported Yuuji's statement with her own.

"We also have to find a way to contact our families."

"But the landline is not working~" Shizuka said as she held the receiver to her ears while pressing some buttons.

"Ok, let's not waste time anymore. We should be moving." Takashi said as he stood up.

"What will we do after leaving the school? We can't possibly outrun 'them'." Hisashi asked while looking at Takashi.

"There was a bus which is used for teachers everyday. I wonder if we can use that?" Shizuka said with a thoughtful expression.

"Do you have the keys?" Saeko asked with her usual calm tone.

"Let me think for a second..."

Hmmm…

Hmmmmm….

"So… remembered yet?" Saya asked with an annoyed look on her face.

"Shut up! You are brekaking my concentration!" Shizuka retorted with a frustrated pout.

"You shut up! How dare you--"

She didn't finished her sentence as she saw everyone in the room given her looks.

Well, it wasn't surprising, Shizuka is one of the most liked teachers in the school. Not to mention that her personality was very likeable, she is also very beautiful.

"oh I remember! It is in the second drawer of that shelf over there." She pointed at a shelf with many files and drawers.

Takashi approached it and started rummaging through the second drawer, after a moment he exclaimed: "I found it!" While juggling the keys in the air.

"Good. We should move out now. We will move past the auditorium and through the main hall." Saeko dictated the plan as everyone stood up and got ready.

Takashi clenched his baseball bat. Hisashi grabbed his metal fence from the ground.

Rei tied her falling her and held on to a wooden staff that she used as a spear!

Shizuka used a safety pin on her skirt and also replaced her heel with sport shoes!!

Saeko and Yuuji took the lead with their bokken.

Kohta picked up his nail gun and loaded a shot while storing some ammo.

Saya… Well, she did nothing. She is useless like always.

By the way, they prepared themselves and left the room with a newfound goal and determination.
