The Creation of the Artificial Intelligence - Black Awakens!

Note: This was the last Chapter I wrote last year before going on Hiatus. So, a complete fresh batch of 21 Chapters is now available on both Patre0n and Ko-Fi.

I will also start working on the Republished Fanfic. You can expect it to be published starting next month on both Webnovel and Scribble Hub. Not changing the basic Plot, I will restructure the entire 1st Volume, and a part of the 2nd volume. Also, I will keep editing the chapters as I publish them. You don't have to read from start, but you can show support if you want. Will let you guys know more a few days before publishing it.

************

Chapter Begins:

Kai felt as if there were many of him inside his brain.

The Dark Scroll had enhanced his computing capabilities by 100%, but it was Ad Infinitum that boosted the entire thing to a nigh incomprehensible level.

Within his consciousness, a spherical, yellow nebula, full of stark white-yellow stars, bobbed up and down, rotating on its axis.

Unlike Kai's subconsciousness, the crystals in this Artificial Intelligence weren't arranged in a specific configuration, but Kai indeed felt a pattern to them. They communicated with each other, provided feedback, stored information, and arrived at a unanimous conclusion.

All done irrespective of Kai's order or will but in his absolute favor.

Ad Infinitum, because of Blue Spider Lily, was like cloning himself 1000 times over, taking out the brains of all the clones, and then fusing them into a mass of hideous perverseness.

This resulted from fusing Advance Emotions Manipulation, Advance Telepathy, Elementary Consciousness Manipulation, and the Dark Scroll.

A True Artificial Intelligence!

Kai had made extensive plans for his future, Verse Fusion World, Harry Potter World, and the Primordial Tower.

Fuck them, the AI concluded.

Kai hovered midair for a minute, the moon rising high in the sky. Within this minute, all his plans had undergone major and minor changes. Some even got discarded completely. Some ended up sending a shiver running down his spine, as old, forgotten memories rushed into his brain before being processed by the AI.

The corners of his mouth arched up.

Kai felt drunk on this power; this sheer ridiculousness of his thoughts.

He let himself fall, opened his eyes, and stood back up. With a passive glance, he looked at Cersei, Item-M, Moraine, and Red Sun.

They turned their heads back as if called by an unheard order.

As their eyes met with Kai, he entered their minds, all their thoughts baring themselves for him.

He found in Cersei's mind what he had known he would find. Love. Loyalty. Lust. And a passion for power and queenly arrogance, for which he didn't blame her. She had stood by her side when others would have run away. For that, he would grant her wish, and more, if she asked.

In Item-M's mind, he also found what he had guessed. Loyalty; not because of the Slave Oath, but the most genuine kind. There was love but overshadowed by concern and fear. Her memories were a mess, which the AI sorted out in a matter of seconds.

And then he got blocked.

He had fused his Abilities to get the AI, but it didn't mean he had lost their functions. Now they were just a part of something grand, just like Selfless Breathing was a bigger picture of the sacrificed Abilities.

Using Consciousness Manipulation, Kai tore out a tiny part of the AI and implanted it in Item-M's mind, commanding it to hack into whatever thing that was blocking him out and blocking her thoughts.

The original AI didn't shrink or something because of this, though. More yellow mist, his consciousness, rushed to fill the torn-out gap. The AI nebula regained its shape in moments.

The torn AI was a distinct case altogether. It was fated to fade away from the target's mind, depending on how fast it utilized its computing power. Still, if Kai were to refuel it with another torn part, he could let it go on forever theoretically.

Then he focused on Moraine. Opportunity. Complexity. Subservience. As the AI processed her memories, Moraine frowned, and then her body shook, blood seeping out of her nose.

Kai stopped. The Old One's Blessing had flared up in an automatic defense, blocking the AI. Kai again tore a part of it and let it hack into the Blessing, grinding its way into Moraine's mind.

Red Sun's memories were the easiest to sort out. And his memories were also the only ones that made Kai raise his eyebrows.

So that's how it is, Kai thought, looking at Red Sun, who sheepishly smiled back at him. A son?

-/Clear a circle of 3 km around me,/- Kai told them telepathically. -/Don't enter the circle without my signal./-

When they were gone, Kai brought a black coffin out of his Inventory.

According to the Systems, Black, the Item, must be granted a part of his consciousness to come into being. But Kai also knew that unlike the cases of Item-M and Moraine, the part of the AI torn out from his mind wouldn't regenerate. Nor the granted AI would fade away from Black's mind.

Yet, because of the Item's property, Kai would still have the entire AI intact.

In simple terms, it would be like storing the AI's program in two different, but identical, hard drives, and then connecting them to a computer. Both would share data almost instantaneously while experiencing no lags.

This almost meant that no matter where Black went, Kai and he would remain connected. EVEN if Black were to jump dimensions or switch Random Worlds.

The simple thought excited Kai so much that he almost broke out in a feat of laughter.

Then he did it.

With a single thought, the entire AI hovering within his mind split apart, like a cell undergoing division.

A formless energy surged out from Kai's mind and latched itself to the coffin.

For a second, nothing happened.

...

Then the entire coffin burst apart into a cloud of the blackest smoke Kai had ever seen. It churned with a bombastic fury and yet managed to look… calm.

With the two parts of the AI connected, Kai could feel it. He felt himself becoming smoke. He also felt a sensation that had been snatched away from him. It was like drinking a glass of cold water on the hottest afternoon of summer, sweating all over; throat dry.

The Calm found him again, and Kai welcomed it with open arms.

For a minute, Kai had both a physical form and a convoluted, smoky appearance.

Then the smoke began condensing, taking a distinct humanoid form.

His black eyes were emotionless, and his even blacker hair was smooth as silk. There was such an unperturbed calmness on that face that it could have buried all smiles and laughs in its surroundings.

Black had awakened.

They looked at each other, one smiling, one not; same faces. They looked into each other's mind, one laughing, one not; same thoughts. Then they nodded at each other, one demon, one devil; same souls.

"What is the most important thing I need?" White Kai asked.

"I need physique," Black Kai answered.

"Yes," Ad Infinitum, the AI, concluded.

Selfless Breathing wasn't a mere Ability. It defined Kai's existence. But the demands it put on Kai's physical strength were hideous, to say the least. It was more so when he had sacrificed almost 10% of it to Death.

Two of his Transformations already inflicted gargantuan pressure on his body when used. If he were to create more Transformations, increasing his Proficiency in Selfless Breathing, then he must have a solid physique.

"No. Not solid," White Kai said. "Solid is not enough."

Black Kai nodded. "Beyond that."

"One must focus on Magic," Ad Infinitum concluded, processing millions of scenarios in mere moments. "The other must focus on accumulating raw strength and technique."

White Kai and Black Kai nodded.

Kai waved his hands and took out a yellow robe from his Inventory. This was the Artifact he had received from Death, the Artificer. It had no impressive power. But it could perfectly replicate the unique signature of a Timeline, making it impossible for anyone to tell if the user was a Contestant or an in-world Character.

Not only that, but the yellow robe could also replicate a false impression of the power system of that Timeline if needed. In a nutshell, when put on, there was just no way to distinguish a Contestant, or an Item in this case, from the Characters.

Black Kai took the yellow robe with no expression and threw it over his shoulder. With a mere thought, the robe vanished, becoming invisible.

"Should I kill them?" Black Kai asked, mentioning Item-M, Moraine, and Red Sun.

"I don't need them anymore," White Kai nodded.

"Failsafe," Ad Infinitum concluded, putting a temporary hold on Black's murderous intentions.

Kai and Black shifted on their feet and looked at the moon, sharing all of their powers back and forth. At last, Kai handed over all the Skills, and the Title gained after consuming Blue Spider Lily to Black.

Black had nothing to fear from sunlight, anyway.

"Which world to go first?" White Kai asked, almost smiling.

"The most impressive," Black Kai stated the obvious.

"The God of High School," Ad Infinitum concluded.

Kai created a mission, and a blue vortex sprung up in front of them.

With an unshakable, calm expression, Black lunged himself into the vortex, embarking on a journey known only to him.
