Chapter 104 Grown Up Pranks.

"So, he has spells like this all-around Magnolia huh" Makarov commented after Karna showed him a few of the enchantments that he had found around the town.

"Yeah, and they had increased it by a few this time as well, I had Ash tag them for some time they were here and found out that before they left they had added a few more enchantments. If my guess is right they have been adding these for many years"

Makarov sighed when he heard it, he knew the reason Laxus might have started this endeavour. Makarov knew that because of the damage caused by Ivan had changed his mentality by so much that Laxus had lost the big picture and so leaving the guild in his hands after his time will be a big mistake. He turned towards Karna.

"Kid, do you wanna be the guildmaster?"

Karna was stunned for a second because of the abruptness of the question. But he shook off the shock as he already had an answer.

"Old man, I know that you began losing your hair after becoming the guild master. I have no intention of taking up that problematic position, find someone else."

"Damn it, you are too smart of your own good" Makarov complained as how much he boasts that he is the guild master of the strongest guild in Fiore, inside he is completely drained by the amount of paperwork and compensation that he has to provide for the destruction they are causing.

Porlyosika had done her work by giving the fear of death to all the members thereby reducing the amount of destruction, but it is still not enough.

Now Makarov actually has no candidate left that is responsible and strong enough to take the mantle of guildmaster.

"What are your plans about this kid?"

"Well, I did learn dispel which can remove these enchantments which are hidden right now, but they might find out that we are on to them and might change their plans" Karna said after showing the magic circle of dispel in his hand.

"Dispel" Makarov was slightly astonished "it's a good magic if you increase your power with it and yes you are right, the inscriptions made by Freed are in such a way that they are completely harmless right now but if you erase even a single inscription, he will know."

Makarov gave his input due to his experience and was able to see the problems of using dispel as well.

"So, we can only use dispel on the day they use these enchantments right."

"yes"

Suddenly an idea hit Karna like a hammer striking a nail.

"Hey, master I got an idea."

"Your expression looks like you are going to do something stupid" Makarov said and grinned "tell me how."

I told him my plan which can completely destroy Laxus's planning. Although it will only happen after the Gerard problem is solved, it's better to start taking care of it now and my plan for Freed's enchantments is going to be funny as hell.

As he told the plan Makarov's eyes widened and after that they looked at each other.

"Hehehe"

"Hehehehehe"

"heheheHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH"

"HAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAH"

Both of them began laughing out like madmen.

"Mama why are they both laughing."

"Don't look let's go" a mother pulled her child away.

Makarov and Karna coughed and reduced their excitement seeing the kind of image it was spreading around."

"Let's go kid, we got a hell lot of work to do" Makarov said with a scary grin.

"Yes master" Karna relied with a similar grin as well.

He then took out the snake talisman from his inventory.

"Well master for now I will let you borrow this talisman. I can do it my removing my presence completely but since you don't have any stealth techniques you have to use this one."

Makarov took the talisman and found its ability really quickly.

"Hohoho, this is a useful artifact" Makarov muttered while having a lecherous expression.

"Well, I will warn you old man, Cana knows about this talisman, so she had put an enchantment by which she will be able to find out the places where the talisman is used. I had only borrowed it for a day, so don't create any problems with it all right" Karna warned as he knew the expression master is making right now while being invisible.

"Darn it, why can't anything good happen to me" Makarov lamented at the unfairness of the world.

"Master, this is the fault of the people who are going to fall on those traps, so let's make it interesting for us and them don't you think" Karna said trying to uplift Master's mood.

"Hehehe, you're right about that, when this gets revealed Laxus is going to have a really wonderful time hahahahahaha" Makarov laughed out loud thinking about what he's about to do.

"Alright, the talisman will last an hour, so make sure to finish a lot by then, since the enchantment is written all throughout the city, it will take days for us to finish it so make sure to reduce the workload I have in that one hour."

"don't worry about it, most of the enchantments are in alleys and places people are not usually seen in, so I will only have to use the time left in the talisman sparingly" Makarov said as they head out to do the work.

For some time there were a few screams throughout Magnolia about paranormal activities because of the work done by Makarov and Karna though both of them thought those things as funny later on when Cana and Porlyosika cornered them, they admitted to it. But after the explanation of what they are doing, they were allowed to continue although Cana put a little more attention to the places where the talisman had gone.

After a few days..

"And that's the last one and we are done."

"I can't wait for that boy of mine to activate it and think that everything is going to go his way."

"oh, it's going to be so much fun."

I said as I started preparing for the current problems.
