Lucius's choice and Hogwarts express

Lucius was currently sitting in a rocking chair, rocking back and forth. He looked like he had something in his mind. Just when he was absorbed by his thinking, a house-elf that looked a bit old came in with a letter in his hand.

"Master, there is a letter from Mistress."

Said the house-elf in a subservient manner.

"Give it here," said Lucius.

Lucius POV

I opened the envelope and took out the letter. I started reading and as I thought, I had failed to persuade Lucas. However, I did not feel bad, it felt as though a burden had been lifted off me. I knew why, it was because deep down I had already accepted it. I knew my son was right, but I was hesitant if I should truly turn a new leaf. At last, I had decided after reading the letter.

Lucius stood up and ordered the house-elf,

"Get that Dobby here."

The house-elf went out and soon another house-elf came in. Lucas didn't even look at the house-elf. He just wrote something on a parchment and gave it to Dobby and said,

"Go to the location that is written in that parchment, you will find a diary there. I want you to dispose of that diary. I don't know how you will do it neither do I wish to know. Make sure that no one will find that diary."

After that Lucius used Apparition and teleported somewhere. From that day onward all of the dark business ventures of the Malfoy family closed. Lucius even cut off his connections with his various ex-comrades.

After doing all that Lucius returned to the manner and sat down on the same rocking chair. This time he looked as though he had shed a layer of his skin. He looked like he was finally burden-free and a lot happier. The house-elves that saw him that day looked shocked as though their whole world was turned upside down.

As for Dobby, that will be another story entirely.

Behind him, the two girls followed one after another. They all looked around. The station looked quite empty. Even the engine of the train hadn't started yet.

"I guess we were early," said Lucas looking around.

All three of them entered the train. A few hours later, the station started becoming packed, and soon after the train started moving. Lucas had a smile of anticipation on his face as well as excitement written all over his face.

After a few hours, Just when he was about to close his eyes out of boredom. The voice of a girl came from the door of the compartment.

"Excuse me, have you seen a toad, someone called Neville has lost it."

After saying that the girl looked up at the people after glancing at the various corner of the compartment. She was immediately stunned after looking at the occupants of the compartment since they were acquaintances.

Lucas looked up and saw Hermione. He had anticipated their second meeting to be as such.

"No, we haven't," answered Daphne looking towards Hermione unnaturally.

"Oh, I see but we have almost looked everywhere but can't seem to find it." Said Hermione trying to look natural.

"Let me help you then." Said Lucas standing up and moving towards the door. The two girls Daphne and Pansy looked like they wanted to say something but didn't and just glared at Hermione.

After that two of them went from one compartment to another in search of the toad.
