The wound may heal

Seeing Rias's excitement, Noah rolled his eyes in exasperation.

Even though he had said that the thing he is going to get from Azazel might help her in her Rating Game with Riser, it wasn't certain.

It was fifty-fifty, at least till he himself gave it a try to see whether it would work the way he wanted it to.

But then again, he could understand the reason for her excitement. After all, she could finally see a hope to get out of her engagement.

To her, it might be a miracle.

'Damn… that puts so much pressure on my shoulders… who am I kidding lol.' He shook his head with a smile before using <<Message>> to get in contact with Azazel.

Several seconds of silence with Rias, Sona, and him staring at each other as he said.

'… I can't get in contact with him…'

He frowned slightly, making Rias nervous as she asked.

"What happened? Is something wrong?" He could particularly feel nervousness in her voice.

Rubbing his chin, Noah thought for a second before replying.

"It seems like some kind of barrier stopping my… umm… telepathic magic from reaching him."

Usually, when he used <<Message>>, he could feel his Mana leaving his body and forming a link, a thread, between him and the receptionist.

But when he used it to connect with Azazel, he could feel his Mana stopping at a certain point before not being able to advance further.

It was like some form of wall stopped it from by-passing it.

"What now?" Rias asked before her eyes landed on the Fallen Angels. "They should have a method to at least contact Grigori. Can't we use that?"

Noah looked towards them with a thoughtful gaze.

"How do you contact Grigori? I mean, at some point, you guys have to report back, right?"

"We usually use the hotline to report to the respective department. We don't have any specific contact with which we can contact Lord Azazel." Raynare answered. "We would have done that otherwise."

'They sound like some corporate now… what do you mean by a hotline? You are Fallen Angels for your Father's sake!'

But then remembering Azazel's eccentric character, he thought that might be the case.

'That person just loves technology… It doesn't matter if it's human or supernatural huh.'

"I guess, for starters, why don't you give me that hotline?"

Without saying anything, Raynare shared the hotline with him. It seems that there was still some lingering fear of what happened to Freed within her, for her to be so cooperative.

After all, Noah couldn't remember her anime version to be this cooperative.

'She was a full-on arrogant bitch, wasn't she? An example of someone who can't see Mt. Tai.'

While thinking such, he dialed the number on his phone under the anticipation gaze of the crimson-head.

"You have successfully connected with the Grigori hotline. To inquire about available missions, press 1. To report your mission, press 2. To report any abnormality in your mission, press 3. To…"

"..." Noah's gaze bore down at the quivering Fallen Angel, making her uncomfortable or so at least that is what looked from an outsider's perspective if not for the mild blush on her face.

"Is there no emergency number or something? Or do you go through this idiotic process whenever you want to report about something?"

"... Lord Azazel loves human's way of communication… The emergency number is only given to those who are sent on a higher difficulty mission…"

"..." Noah's expression screamed "what a drag" as he finally reached the last number, which was obviously the most important part.

"To talk with our agent for any other inquiry, press 9—Beep—You will be connecting to an inquiry agent now."

"Hello, how can I help you?" A girl's voice came from the other side before Noah, who had already lost most of his patients said with a slightly annoyed tone.

"It is the Red Dragon Emperor speaking. Connect me with Azazel."

Rias and Sona raised a brow, staring at him to which he just shrugged his shoulders.

"Okay."

"Huh?"

"It is Azazel. I didn't think that this generation's Red Dragon Emperor would contact me."

"..." Hearing his excited tone, Noah was speechless.

'No, in the first place, is it this easy to connect with the leader of Grigori? Wasn't that just… way too easy?'

He felt quite weird. Wondering if the receptionist was tired of her job.

'Well, my job at the call center was never really pleasant anyway.' He could say that with his experience in the past.

It was a boring job of sitting at a single seat while either repeating the same script or just listening to curses from people.

The worst experience was that the Call Center where he worked even took his phone before the shift started—to make sure he wouldn't get distracted during the job.

It was hell.

"Hello? Anyone there?"

"..." Shaking his head out of the useless thoughts, he focused back on the call. "It's Noah Pendragon speaking."

"..." A brief silence answered him back before an over-excited tone that even made Noah feel weirded out. "Didn't think Noah would be this generation's Red Dragon Emperor. It sure is a shock to hear!"

'Don't act so familiar with me.'

"Uhh… no… that was a bluff to get in contact with you."

"...Really?"

He could particularly feel disappointment in Azazel's voice, making him quite irritated.

It was like he cared more about the fact that Noah could be the possessor of Boosted Gear rather than Noah himself.

'All scientists are crazy anyway.'

"But why do you need to contact me?"

Noah remained silent for a second, his gaze landing on Rias, Sona, and then on the Fallens before he smirked.

"Ah, nothing much. Just that there were some Fallen Angels following me these days, but since they did nothing but follow me, I didn't really care. But just some hours ago, not only did they try to kill me, but they also ended up GRAVELY hurting both Rias Gremory and Sona Sitri."

A silence sank as Noah's smirk largened with the wide gaze of the Fallen Angels.

"It was so bad." His voice broke as he continued. "If I didn't arrive on time, I'm afraid that Rias and Sona might have entered a coma, the worst case being them dying."

Seeing no reply coming from the other side, he continued.

"You do know what it means, right? Sisters of the current two Maous were almost 'killed' by Fallen Angels sent by Azazel, the Leader of Grigori, while I, Noah Pendragon, also an honorable member of Red Clan, was also targeted."

"Azazel… I wonder if you are trying to start another Great War?"

"..." He was only answered by pure silence as he glared towards Raynare who seemed to fight her urge to shout but quivered back seeing his bottomless black eyes, boring down on her.

He gestured "okay" towards Rias, seeing her getting worried at the increasing silence before he was finally answered with a heavy sigh before Azazel's urgent voice.

"... What do you want?"

Noah wasn't naive to think that Azazel would buy whatever he just said.

After all, this person was someone who have lived thousands of years. He could easily see through the lie he was sporting.

But can he ignore it?

Obviously not.

In the end, both sis-con would hear their sisters rather than Azazel. And less was needed to be said about the Red Clan which is known for hot-headed people.

If even the slightest info about him being targeted by Fallen Angels was revealed, he wouldn't be surprised to find the Red Clan surrounding the whole Kuoh Town, hijacking it.

And he knew Azazel clearly understood it too, that's why it wasn't hard to know that Noah should be after something if he had to make such a story.

"Come on~, don't make it sound like I'm threatening you Azazel. I thought we were friends."

"This is the first time we are talking though."

"Fret not the small details." Noah smiled before sitting on the stairs and continued. "But since you are generous enough to ask, I can't really say no now, can I?"

If he was present on the other side, Noah was sure he would definitely see Azazel's temple twitching with anger. He felt quite sad at the fact that he couldn't see his face.

He would have definitely enjoyed it.

"For starters, let's start with equipment that can change its weight depending on the user—I would prefer if it's in the shape of a bracelet, a ring works too."

"Can be done." Azazel answered.

"Second, I want all Sacred Gears with Vitra's power in them. I'm sure you guys possess about three parts of it, yes?"

"... Though I would like to inquire where you got such information, I see, it is doable. Anything else?"

"Awww, you're so generous Azazel. I can see why Raynare and others have so much loyalty to you. With such a generous boss, even I wouldn't mind giving my loyalty if I wasn't already in a Clan."

"..."

"Well if you have asked already, I guess I can tell." He smirked at Rias before asking. "I want the ability called Reversal that Grigori is researching on. That's all. I hope you can accept my 'requests'."

A silence entered between the calls before Noah suddenly added.

"What happened Rias? Your brother is calling you? You too Sona?!"

Sona and Rias stared at Noah's acting with dead eyes. They could only roll their eyes at his shitty acting skills. It was way too obvious.

"... I understand. I'll get all the items." After a second of silence, Azazel's voice came from the other side. One could feel tiredness from it. "Also, is Raynare and others alright?"

"Of course! Do you take me for a barbarian?" Noah asked with a mild surprised and mild sad expression. "I would not hurt an ant, let alone someone else!"

"... Beep. Beep. Beep."

"Ah." Noah stared at the screen before saying. "How rude. To cut it as such… he didn't even give me any face."

Turning back to look towards Raynare and the other Fallen who were glaring at him but the moment he turned to them, their gaze became timid like a puppy.

He couldn't help but smirk at their appearance before saying.

"Well isn't daddy Azazel the best? He is willing to give up so much for you guys. I'm in tears." Pulling the phone back into his pocket, he snapped his fingers as the curtain around the church shattered to pieces.

"Rias, Sona." He turned towards them and said. "You girls take these guys with you and hold them 'hostage' till we get the things I've asked for. I'm sure he would send White Dragon Emperor of this generation to deliver the stuff—with how he as a leader can't enter Devil's territory and all—until then, take care of them."

"What about you? Where are you going?" Sona walked close to him and asked, making him ruffle her hair with his hand, making her pout with red cheeks and a slightly annoyed gaze.

"A new episode of Mari-Mari Magical Girl is coming today. Your man has priorities, woman."

"..."

Ignoring the speechless look on the crimson-head and Sona, Noah ran towards his home—he can't miss the new episode!
