23 Sin of Sodom and Gomorrah

Roy didn't hold a particular dislike for these types of people who sought for their own gains over others.

Surprisingly, he was rather open-minded, and as a person who lived how he willed, he didn't mind people's different ways of living. He went by the philosophy: 'I am me, and others are others.'

However, that didn't mean that he acknowledged everyone's way of life. Roy could nod his head, thinking, 'It's understandable why they thought that', especially if someone acted with enough power and knowledge backing them and failed.

But Roy couldn't understand those who just did death seeking things without any power and knowledge behind them.

No, it was acceptable to that point. Even without power and knowledge, it took courage to go against death; although Roy couldn't understand those who literally seeked death for some gains while knowing that they had a 100% chance of dying, he could accept it as one of the masochistic characteristics of that person.

Well, he could accepted a particular person being masochistic, after all it was the era of freedom. But, a whole group? And that of some of the top figures worldwide to the boot?

He again took a brief look at the surroundings.

...this is definitely the Female Wolf's headquarters and not some party or joint venue of people with special interests, right?

'Jokes aside, but truly—Ah! I see, all stones same for a broken window.'

There was a criminology theory in Roy's previous life known as the Broken Windows Theory.

It theorized that visible signs of disorder encouraged behaviors that induced greater disorder. For example, a street already filled with litter might leave others thinking that it was fine to litter too.

Such was the case here. Sometimes if you gave an inch, they will gobble up ten instead. And the best way to prevent this from happening was to show that he was a predator of this land, a king of this sea, a shark preying on others, any small fish that even dared to think about taking a bite in his flesh should shake up in cold sweat on it's ridiculous own thought.

A pair of mysterious green crystalline eyes looked at Diana Milito, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bronze Black Cross.

Then, under everyone's horrified gaze, the lower foot of the young lady started to turn into salt, slowly but surely edging upwards.

"The Divine Authority of Marquis Voban?!"

"<Eyes of Sodom>!!"

"Diana, don't move!"

"..."

The entire venue immediately became chaotic, everyone started to panic in cold sweat. The chiefs of the mage associations stood up from their seats, shouting anxiously at Diana, telling her not to move.

Even though the 'Seven Sisters' are organizationally loose alliance in nature, these Commander-in-Chiefs have a very good relationship in private, it is their alliance that makes the Italian magic world keep developing smoothly.

Otherwise, with Holy See being the 'headquarters' of the Christianity, this place would have become a haven of priests long ago, with no places for mages and knights to even loiter around.

Dianna Milito's expression was very ugly. She still followed other people's instructions, she did not dare to move even a millimeter.

She looked pale with gritted teeths and watched her whole feet slowly turning into salt. It started to ascended beyond her calves and towards her thighs, also turning them into white salt.

At this time, no matter who touched her salted body part, even a powerful mage, he would lose that part of his body.

As the Commander-in-Chief of Bronze Black Cross, Diana's strength is certainly not weak, she is a figure standing in the top ranks in the entire magic world.

However, even she is as weak as an ordinary person in front of a Campione.

"The power of the Marquis Voban? No, no, no, I don't know which Heretic God Marquis Voban killed to get the <Eyes of Sodom>, but I know that his power is definitely a castrated version of the original one. "

"This Divine Authority reproduces the scene of the demise of the sinful city of Sodom in the 'Old Testament'. This is one of my seven <Holy Rights>!"

<Sin of Sodom>, this is Roy's second Divine Authority.

Sodom and Gomorrah along with the cities of Admah, Zeboiim, and Zoar constituted the five 'cities of the plain'.

It is recorded in the 'Book of Genesis', God revealed to Abraham, the Hebrew Patriarch, that Sodom and Gomorrah are to be destroyed for their grave sins.

Abraham pleaded for the lives of any righteous people living there, especially the lives of his nephew, Lot, and his family.

Abraham negotiated with God, at first God agreed to spare the cities if 50 righteous people can be found and eventually, on further persuasion God agrees to spare the cities if 10 righteous people were found.

Two angels, appearing as men, were sent to inform Lot in Sodom.

Finding only Lot and his family as righteous among the inhabitants, the angels warned Lot to quickly evacuate the city with his family and not to look back.

As soon as Lot and his family evacuated, the Sulfur of Hell started to gush out of the ground and Heavenly Fire rained from the sky.

As they fled, Lot's wife turned back to look upon the city and turned into a pillar of salt.

In the Book of Zerubbabel, Michael once said: I am the one who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah by 'sulfer and fire'.

It is this myth and legend that gave Roy his second <Holy Right>. The limitation of <Sin of Sodom> is that it can be activated only once in three days.

However, once fully activated, Heavenly Fire will fall from the sky and the sulfur will gush out from hell.

Annihilation of a city can be done in a blink of the eye. This Authority is a large-scale AOE skill among Roy's seven Divine Authorities.

Other Godslayers such as Marquis Voban possess large-scale natural disaster powers as well, but they are definitely not as powerful as Roy's power that can only be used once in three days.

It can be said that most of Roy's Divine Authorities belong to the category of 'ultimate skill', so they are all unusually powerful.

<Eye of Sodom> that Marquis Voban possess is more like an cheap, copycat version of <Sin of Sodom>, a Divine Authority that replicates the divine punishment of not listening to angel's warnings.

<Eye of Sodom> turns the target into salt, whereas, the power he used on Diana is a skillful application of his <Sin of Sodom>.

It is like a kind of highest level magic eye comparable to Medusa's Mystic Eyes of Petrification.

His small application of <Sin of Sodon> is capable of turning any creature into salt, it can even be said to be the strongest killer move against mages and knights.

As long as Roy's eyes are look on the target's body, the target will turn into salt.

"Seven Authorities?!"

"How is it possible, how can it be possible to obtain seven authorities by killing a single God, this is a miracle that has never been seen in the past!"

"..."

Roy's words caused another riot, however Roy was didn't thought it as a big deal.

In original future, the protagonist of the 'Campione' world will slay 'The Eastern God of War', The Persian Warlord— Verethragna.

He will usurp a single Divine Authority— <Ten Incarnations>, however, this authority contains the power of Verethragna's ten different incarnations, in way he possess ten Divine Authorities!

But his case is different from Godou's, he usurped seven different Divine Authorities at once and these Divine Authorities are seperate, not merged into one, and that is because of his 'cultivation method'— 'Book of 777'.

Just after he assimilated the thoughts of 'Book of 777' for the first time, his newly born 'practice method' was a bit 'hungry', so it gobbled up all the authorities it could.

Heretic god and Godslayer may share the same authority, but their usage can be different from each other almost completely.

Godou and Veretharagna's <Ten incarnations> only vaguely resembled each other in some aspects.

When usurped, Authority will reshape itself to match godslayer's personality and character theme. Just like Michael's Divine Authorities became Roy's own unique Authority using this 'wisdom'.

As for why he revealed the number of Authorities he usurped is not because to show off in front of others.

He wants the 'Seven Sisters' to become his subordinates, and to get their allegiance from their heart, for that he knows that he has to make them trust in his strength.

If he suppress them with pressure, they may show full loyalty on the surface, but their heart will feel wronged for being forcefully brought into a subservient position for such a 'weak' king.

So, Roy knows that he needs to show both a carrot and a stick to make them work at their full efficiency.

With the confidence in the king they have choosen, their mind will want to prove themselves to gain King's trust.

So, Metatron will be found more faster, whereas if their heart is not content, Metatron will run to some another place, at that time Metatron will go out of his sphere of influence, making it more difficult to find him.

While the Mages and Knights present where shocked, Liliana was already horrified at this time.

She is a member of the Bronze Black Cross, and Diana Milito, the commander in chief, is also her teacher.

Seeing her teacher almost turning into a pillar of salt by Roy, made her horrified.

Currently, her teacher's lower abdomen has already turned into salt, when her head also turns into salt, it will be the moment of Diana's death.

In a panic, Liliana chanted a spell on Diana to cast the magic spell to lift the curse.

"Teacher!"

Seeing that her magic was of no effect on the salinization process, Liliana was panicked.

"Don't waste your efforts, Lily... this is the power of Gods, it cannot be dispelled by ordinary magic."

Although Diana was close to face her death, as the commander in chief of the Bronze Black Cross she could barely maintain her composure.

Seeing Liliana wanting to continue using the magic to remove the curse, she stopped her.

"How come!"

Seeing that three-quarters of the body of her teacher beloved turning into a pillar of salt, Liliana's upright and clear eyes gradually filled with mist, tears visible at the corners of her eyes.

If it weren't for Diana herself to be an extremely powerful mage and possessed a strong resistance to magic as well as because Roy didn't really used the true power of his Divine Authority.

By this time, it is estimated that she would have been completely turned into a salt pillar.

Looking at the teacher's pale face and desperate eyes towards her approaching death, Liliana's string of reason suddenly bursted.

She unconsciously drew out her beloved sword <Il Maestro>, and was about to point the tip of the sword at Roy.

At this moment, a bright red figure flashed in the corner of Liliana's sight, the figure rushed to Liliana's side in an instant, grasping her slender wrist holding the sword.

Then Liliana only saw Erica pulling out her sword <Cuore di Leone>, also known as the Heart of the Lion, the sister sword of <Il Maestro>, from her hilt.

At the same time, Erica pulled Liliana's wrist in downwards direction in full force. Liliana who was in not a totally sane state, staggered.

When Liliana was staggered, a knee hit Liliana's abdomen, causing her to kneel down in pain. This hit also caused Liliana's reasoning ability to come back.

"Liliana Kranjcar, if you dare to raise your sword against the 'king', I will personally cut off your head!"

Erica snorted sternly, and then quickly turned towards Roy, knelt down on one knee, lowered her head and said:

"...'King', I am Erica Brandelli, a knight of Copper Black Cross. We deserve to be guilty of offending your majesty."

"I pleed you to forgive us for my sins. Please, give us a chance to redeem our sins!"

After speaking, Erica motioned towards Liliana anxiously with her eyes.

Liliana immediately reacted after waking up in a daze. She showed a grateful look at Erica, and quickly walked over and knelt on her knees.

However, compared to Erica, she was a little bit bad at words, so she just lowered her head, with her eyes filled with tears.
