Mocking Phoenix
Well from my point of view and choice of novels from the ones added this round, this one takes the top and it s fairly good when compared with the others added, again everyone has a different preference when it comes to novels. Similar with The Ultimate Evolution but with not really the same, which left me a decent impression even if in the end of the story it became kind of rushed. Try to read until chapter 30, chinese nationalism was mentioned once in the story(chap 10-20) and if you really take that to heart and stop reading for something so minor, not worth taking to heart, well you lose:D
Read 10 chapters and I gotta say, not my thing. Story development is okay I guess but I can't say much because I only read 10 chapters. Character design is really bland and I mean really dry. The author never described if the mc felt sad when his parents died or anything so I just imagined him as a 'ok' dude. Of course the author needed to say that the mc 'took pride' in his country and people, ffs, even if China/qidian loves their country, you don't need to say that in the novel (you even did in a such a bad way) No personality, just your normal indifferent pride taking in his country mc. Other characters also don't have much personality, sure, you can barely see the difference. World background is a 3 stars, I wanna go for 4 stars, but making the other worlds movies, games and idk tv-series is really a no go, it's not fun. - Naturally describing the world background in this novel is rather complicated due 'multiverse', but just a no go. The author didn't bother explaining the worlds to other people because he probably felt it was totally everyone watched the movie 'wanted' or played the games 'subway surfer and temple run'. Actually, 2 stars. SoU: 5* Translation Quality: 5* - readable, no problem, peace I am out.
I got tired of the nationalism and the whole i hate assasins nonsense. Its always cute seeing ppl talk about professions and nations they dont know/understand. I can accept his morals since its very human, but i dont want to hear it over and over again, it gets old and boring. Honestly its quite annoying. He seems to also be a simp, still caring about ur ex who could possibly want to kill you cause u still "like her". U didnt even know her, it was infatuation. Get some self respect.
First off, this is about a system and world jumping, the author prefers movies as background of the world. not bad but not great either. the one thing that bothered me after reading is the mess how the story is told, since the author suddenly drops the fact that the MC has a system already and he completed some mission, that not a good way to introduce the readers to the novel cuz the reader will feel lost. also some of the jokes kinda get lost on translation and feel really forced. so far it's a fun enough readm but doesn't feel particulary unique or interesting. one last thing, the system itself is not rewarding, in the sense that there's no real sense of urgency or achivement on it. overall, this novel is pretty average.
Our MC is an ex police officer, whose deceases chubby middle aged parents were not what they seemed. The story is fast paced and well developed for the most part with a mostly logical MC with a somewhat quurky view on the world. There are comedic moments and at times pushing it, but overall enjoyable. The transition though at times is a bit awkward.
