Honestly it would be more in his personality to fight for the people with abilities mutant or not, like Spiderman who is not a mutant but has abilities. As they are more in line with Andrew's beliefs of an Apex Predator, and he is forming his pack as an alpha of sorts. even if he does have the X-Gene, and has been associating with many mutants as of late. He should be viewing himself on a high level. and treating all special humans as the similar kind not just mutants, he could also be fighting for demons or aliens too, if they of similar species to humans.
