Moonlit World

A/N: I'm back now, throw your stones at me, once again!

—-

After Mitsuha woke up after the shocking revelation, I decided to tell her about the magic side of the world since she's technically part of it, now that she has a supernatural ability, which is comparable to a True Magic.

After explaining about the moonlit world, she didn't really believe me, which was understandable for the most part since magic in our world is believed to be fictional, however, I said. "Is it really that unbelievable? I mean you have the power to teleport anywhere as long as you know the location of that place."

That made Mitsuha pause and said. "That actually makes sense…"

I smiled, it wasn't that hard to convince her since she herself is undeniable proof that the supernatural exists.

"So what, you can do magic tricks?" Mitsuha asked curiously.

The way she said it irked me and thought. 'Magic trick she says..? If it was another magus who heard her words, she would have no doubt insulted them and possibly killed her in the process…not like they could have caught her anyways, D was one of the few exceptions.'

"No, what I'm using isn't a magic trick but magecraft, remember that,," I said seriously as I looked at her.

Although confused, she nodded. "So what can you do?"

Hearing that question I gave her a pondering look before answering. "A lot."

"That doesn't really answer my question though…" Mitsuha gave me a deadpan look.

"You're not wrong, but technically I'm not wrong either. I can do a lot of spells, I'll show you one." I cast one of the most basic spells that a magus could cast.

Reinforcement, I reinforced the mug on the table, and it glowed into a blueish color. Mitsuha saw it, and although it was nothing special in her eyes it was something fascinating.

"Woah…what did you do?" Mitsuha curiously asked.

"I reinforced the mug, now try throwing it as hard as you can," I told her.

Mitsuha gave me a skeptical look, however, she followed my instruction and threw the mug into the floor as hard as she could possibly do.

Unlike her expectation that the mug would break, it didn't instead was struck on the floor, like it was a sharp object rather than a plain mug.

"Woah! How is that possible?" Mitsuha gasps in surprise.

"Magecraft," I replied.

"Magic?" She answered.

"Magecraft, there's a difference. Magic is something akin to a true miracle, something that science can't replicate." It was more complicated than what I explained but it was enough for her to understand the implications of what I said.

"Oh…so magic is like my teleportation?" Mitsuha asked with a curious look.

"Technically, it is…" Her ability to teleport may be in the realm of true magic, however, it's nothing more than an abbreviation of the second true magic, the kaleidoscope.

"So it is?" Mitsuha smiled as she wanted confirmation.

"Yes, it is," I replied with a wry smile.

"Then that means I'm awesome compared to your people!" Mitsuha answered boastfully.

"Yeah, you're awesome alright awesome enough to get a sealing designation and get experimented on." I couldn't help but laugh at her horrified expression.

"W-what?!"

"You heard it right, if a magus were to catch you, there's a high possibility that you'll get experimented on so that they would uncover the mystery of your craft," I said with a serious look while looking at her face and continued. "The moonlit world is a very terrible place, it's filled with different kind of monsters that would eat children if it means getting stronger, what I want to say is a magus, in general, is terrible, no the right description is obsessive maniacs that won't stop until they reach the ultimate goal of reaching the 'Root'.'

I can help but remember my experiences in the mage association in the past, there's one time that I was almost assassinated. It was really an unpleasant memory. I was forced to kill that assassin since it's either me or him, sparing the assassin's life wasn't an opinion.

You think being in a powerful mage family would make you safe from any harm, no it's quite the opposite actually, anyway I regretted not being more specific with that wish.

Either way, it's too late for regret now, I thought. 'Now that I think about it.. didn't I mention years ago about having morality as a magus? Quite ironic actually…'

"The root? What's that?" Mitsuha asked curiously.

"It's a bit complicated to explain, but let's say that it's a place that many magus wanted to go to." I didn't explain any further after that, who knows this girl might get an idea of getting into the root which is impossible even with her teleportation.

"A place huh…something is telling me that place isn't anywhere on Earth." Mitsuha pondered while resting her chin on her hand.

"That's correct." I nodded at her, then suddenly the phone in my pocket started ringing, I took it out and saw that it was my sister calling me.

"Excuse me, I'll answer this call real quick," I told Mitsuha which she nodded in understanding.

I quickly went out of the room and answered the call. "Lorelei, what's up?"

"... Alexander." I heard my sister's voice was exceptionally serious.

"W-what is it sister?" I unconditionally became tense at her serious tone, I cursed myself for stuttering at my sister. It makes me look like I did something wrong, but I can't help it, when she calls my name with such a serious tone, it could only mean one thing: she's annoyed or irritated by something that I did.

"Do you have any idea of what you did?" I heard my sister's serious tone on the phone.

Hearing that, I tried to remember what 'mistake' I made for the past few days, and I couldn't find any.

"No..?" I answered a bit doubtfully.

"You…truly do not know?" Judging from my sister's tone, she was surprised that I didn't know what 'mistake' I made.

"Yes..?" I replied a bit confused.

"...sigh* unbelievable…" I swear I could visualize Lorelei putting her hand on her forehead.

"Sorry, I don't understand. Can you please elaborate on what mistake I made?" I gave up figuring out what this is about and decided to be straightforward about the issue.

I heard my sister let out a massive sigh and answer. "I heard that your school was destroyed by a beam of prana."

Hearing that I immediately realized what 'mistake' I made. "Oh…"

"Now you understand, care to explain why didn't you inform me about it immediately? Because I only knew about the incident the next day, do you understand how worried I am?" I heard the concern in my sister's voice.

Honestly, I would have never thought I would hear my sister say the word 'worried' in person, not to mention to say it in such a concerned voice.

I never thought my sister was capable of saying such words, and knowing that made me feel happy that she was vocalizing that she's worried about my safety and guilty because I didn't think about informing her. After all, to me, personally, it wasn't worth mentioning.

A normal person with common sense would immediately inform their family of what happened, but I wasn't exactly 'normal' in a sense because something catastrophic like what happened to my school is like Friday to me.

"I-well…sorry I didn't think of that." I was guilty of not informing her.

"Sigh* of course…however listen Alexander, I may not look like it, but I'm worried about your well-being, I'm your elder sister it is natural for me to do so." I was blown by how sincere her tone was when she said that.

I couldn't help but think. 'Is this really my sister?'

Hearing her tone and everything, she is indeed my sister. No matter how unbelievable it may seem at the moment, the Lorelei I know isn't someone this open with her feelings.

Maybe this is because of Shirou's influence?

Yeah, maybe that's it, there's no other explanation for this.

"Yes, of course…"

"Alright then, next time do inform me, if not I'll be very disappointed with you," Lorelei said with a serious voice.

"I will remember that." I nodded.

"Good, now tell me what happened in your school, because I have a feeling that you know more about the incident." Lorelei's feeling was right on the spot, I know more than anyone aside from D what truly happened that day.

Closing my eyes I decided to tell her the full story, it took me a few minutes to relay what happened.

After disclosing the entire story to my sister, she replied with an exceptionally cold voice. "So it's that alien's fault, maybe I will hunt her down once in for all."

I know Lorelei was serious about this, that's why I quickly replied. "No, please don't I know how strong you are and how capable your group is, however, you have to trust me that you wouldn't be able to kill her, even if you did D's body is just a vessel it's not her real one, at the end of the day your efforts would be pointless."

It took a few minutes for Lorelei to answer. "Fine, I'll trust you for now."

"Thank you." I sigh in relief, thinking that I saved my sister from a pointless hunt because I'm very aware of how powerful D is.

Even a Magician isn't enough to win a fight with D, heck I'm pretty sure that even Crimson Moon, or what is known as Type-Moon, isn't the same level as D.

One must know that Type-Moon is the weakest among the other Types, as Crimson Moon is barely qualified as one.

(A/N: And to think Type-Moon is the main antagonist of the entire franchise xD.)

After a few minutes of talking with Lorelei, finally, our conversation was finished, and went back to the living room to continue my explanation of the moonlit world to Mitsuha.

A/N: Thankfully it's only one day, I'm glad honestly being sick for a few days sucks.
