19 Initial Salvo

I woke up covered in trash and I slowly peeled it to make sure that no one had come while I was asleep. I mean the explosion caused the RPG rockets definitely wasn't silent.

I looked around the battlefield filled with corpses and heaved a sigh of relief. No one had come and all the guns and ammunition were still there for me to loot.

I stretched to see if I had injuries that I had missed during the heat of the battle but thankfully there were no injuries.

I immediately went down to loot the corpses pretty comfortable with the process by now. Too bad though that I had to leave many of the guns behind.

I couldn't carry them all and I definitely couldn't use them all in a fight. They would only serve to slow me down in an actual fight.

So I gathered all the guns and hid them in the hole I had spent in within the piles of trash. I had only kept 2 rifles and 4 handguns. I also had enough ammo to kill a small army.

As for the special guns, the flamethrower and sniper were totaled. Apparently, they couldn't survive a direct hit from an RPG, fair enough.

So after that started on the way to Minnow's Redoubt, it was not that far away so I reached it well before the sun came down.

I hid behind the hill and tried to observe the redoubt. It was honestly much better made than I expected. I was made of actual neatly carved stone, stacking perfectly to make a massive wall.

The back of the redoubt was the city wall so there was no way of approaching from the back, only from the sides or front.

The only gateway was in the front, it was heavily patrolled with the wall being 20 men that would have great lines of fire against anyone who would attempt to enter the fort uninvited.

They also cleared the field around the fort of trash for a 100-meter radius so if I rushed there I would immediately be spotted and shot.

These gangsters, first the advanced guns and devil fruits and now they had an honest to god fort. What's next, a robot, a tank? Gods I hope not.

The CP agent who was supporting this must really have big plans if they are willing to give this much support. They would definitely notice me when I tore this place down.

So first things first how do I enter the fort. I mean I was still a child so no way I could disguise myself and get myself in that way.

Maybe under the cover of night sneak my way there? But I saw massive lights on the wall that would make such a trip pretty dangerous.

Then I looked at the wall the redoubt was attached to. It was worn with old age and had many cracks on it that were just big enough for my hands to fit into.

I could just climb the city wall and come from behind the fort. They had no one protecting the back of the fort meaning that they probably didn't think that someone like me would try this.

Heh, even though these bandits were smart, I was smarter. My intelligence stat was finally showing its usefulness.

So with my entry strategy planned I had to think about how was I going to kill them all. I mean I had killed 3 of the lieutenants but that was either after I ambushed them or in 1 on 1 fights.

Even then they could put a pretty good fight. Plus Jack and his right-hand man Crusher were definitely stronger than the lieutenants.

Even with my plan to scale the wall I was still kind of worried that Jack would find me. I mean I don't know many people he has prisoners and how much he has used for himself.

I mean if he was more sensitive than the rabbits in the jungle then he would hear me shooting the RPG and dodge immediately. If I went close however were much more likely to find me.

Problems, problems. I eventually settle on carpet bombing the entire camp. I mean I still had 4 RPG shells after using 3 in the last fight.

Since the RPG shells were still grenades I could probably jerry-rig them to detonate after a while. I would use 1 shell to shoot at wherever they are gathering then throw the rest around the fort.

I could cover the entire fort as 4 grenades weren't enough but I could probably take out a significant portion of the gangsters and hopefully, some lieutenants are doing this.

So when the day turned to night I circled around the perimeter of the redoubt and started climbing the wall behind it. As I had hoped they didn't check behind them only in front and to the sides.

The bright light now helped me more than them as it gave me a better view of what was going on in camp. I saw that people were not gathering around a large tent in the middle of the fort.

I couldn't see who was in the front but judging by the crowd it was probably where all the important people were.

So after I reached the top of the city wall I prepared my RPG and 3 makeshift grenades to rain hell on them.

I would have to drop the grenades first and then shoot to make sure that they all exploded around the same time.

I want to give everyone as little time to react as possible, don't want a repeat of what happened with Torry. His escaping the RPG blast to fight me really reinforced the danger of these men.

While they might have guns that were powerful I shouldn't discount their individual skills as well. Especially since they all have enhanced senses courtesy of Jack.

So once people seemed to stop streaming into the fort, I attacked. I threw the grenades at the largest groups of people and aimed my RPG at the massive tent in the middle.

The resulting explosions deafened me and lit up the night for a moment allowing me to see the carnage I had caused. Bodies were strewn everywhere.

I estimated that out of the 200 men I saw in camp maybe only 70 were still in any condition to fight. Now that my initial salvo was out of the way I jumped off the top of the city wall.

I rushed to the ground quickly gathering all the force into my kick and just as I was about to land on top of the ruined tent I released a massive Axe kick that shattered the ground around me.

I noticed bodies being thrown into the air, specifically I noticed a corpse holding a massive rifle. That must have been one of the lieutenants but where were the others?

I then noticed that there was an entrance leading into the ground. Shit, did they have an underground base? I should have scouted out the place more, how many people were down there?

I immediately ran to pick up the anti-tank rifle from the only lieutenant I had managed to kill. He must have been left here to keep watch.

So when someone came out of the underground entrance I shot them. The bullet carved through the man but it was only a normal soldier.

Right after I shot the man and was reloading one of the lieutenants came out, Uren I believe. He was armed with an automatic shotgun and he immediately opened fire.

I dropped the gun and jumped out of the way but since its cone of bullets was too wide it got hit by some grazing shots in my right leg, slowing me down.

I pulled out one of my pistols and tried to shoot him center mass but he moved out of the way and it only hit him in the shoulder.

He then immediately flopped down the group, I thought I had incapacitated him but while he was blocking my view into the entrance. Another lieutenant, Martin, came out.

He carried the machine gun and since Uren was on the ground he had no obstructions so opened fire on me immediately.

I Bo-buped away granting me a precious second of reprieve while he tried to find where I had gone. I was to his left and I pulled out another one of my pistols to try and kill him.

The shot aimed at his head was blocked however by Uren as he immediately sprung up and used his shotgun to block the incoming bullet.

I saw the shotgun shatter under the blow but it still gave Martin enough time to try and shoot me again.

He was incredibly accurate as once again I got hit on the right side of my body, my injured leg too slow to move my body out of the way. I was hit on my shoulder and hip slowing me down further.

To try and stop him from continuing to hit me I used a Ground Drawer to kick debris up into the air to prevent him from seeing me.

It seem to work for a moment but then a bullet came through the wall of dirt and nearly hit me in the head. If I hadn't jerked away in time I would be dead.

It was Uren who shot the bullet and I figured out what sense he had enhanced, his hearing. He probably had some type of echolocation that help him find where I was.

That was how he blocked the bullet I shot at Martin and knew to duck before Martin started his barrage.

I thought quickly before the dust cleared I kicked the air and instead of making it as quiet as possible I made it as loud as possible.

The massive shift in the air result in a resounding crack that was even louder than the gunshots that had been ringing out and the explosion I had just caused.

I heard a scream and knew I had incapacitated Uren for a while. So I rushed in and aimed to end this in close combat.

I kicked out with my good leg at Martin as he was the one that was more dangerous in this situation, he dodged, however, reacting abnormally quickly.

I then did a Fist Strike at the stunned Uren. He tried to lift his arm but his injured shoulder prevented him so I blew his brains out in a single blow.

Martin dropped the machine gun, it being too bulky to be used at close range, and drew 2 pistols. He aimed them at me and when I tried to shake them off he tracked me perfectly.

Shit, he must have enhanced eyesight, maybe his dynamic vision in particular is much better than a normal person.

He fired both bullets about to hit me. I managed to block one by recreating what Uren did, blocking one bullet with the pistol I was still holding on to.

The other was aimed at my head and I couldn't dodge it. So I did something crazy. I turned my head sideways and open my mouth.

The bullet hit the side of my face, passing through one cheek and out the other without hitting anything else.

In immense pain I once again did a Ground Drawer blocking Martin's view and charged in to kill him with a Baekdu, crushing his ribcage inward with my knee.

I sighed considering my condition. I was in immense pain with my face bleeding profusely. The right side of my body was also heavily injured, I could exert nearly as much force with it as before.

Then out of the entrance, I saw 2 men emerge. Jack and his right-hand man crusher. Jack looked furious and said, "So you're the piece of shit that has been hurting my business huh."

He smiled genially, "Well we know what happens to people who do that don't we Crusher?"

Crusher nodded then shifted to his half-human half polar bear form and charged me. Looks like I was not out of the woods yet.
