C4 I'm in danger~!

"This is cool, Alex! You made this?" Kai asked with eyes filled with eagerness.

After their talk at their house, the two followed the drone to Alex's tree house. When they got here Elizabeth was so excited when she saw the beautiful silver black necklace in Alex's hand.

Then, just as Eliza was eagerly asking her to let her test it, Alex suddenly took out a sleek black tablet. Alex said that we can use this weird tablet to test the necklace. I weirdly somehow found it familiar. She called it a smartphone, and we were quite confused as it doesn't look like a phone to me.

Soon enough, she demonstrated to us how to use it. I was immediately flabbergasted as this phone is literally what I sometimes saw on sci-fi animes that I sometimes watch. Of course not as absurd a showing holograms, she explained that she's not there yet.

"Can you make me one, Alex?"

"Of course, that phone you have is for Elizabeth cause she needs it for her necklace."

Hearing that, Eliza immediately snatched the phone from Kai's hands. She was happy cause this phone is so good, not like those trashy keypad phones. And she also got it for 500 Gsos! 500 for fuck sake! That was like just $10 if you think about it!

"Hehehe~ This is mine~" Eliza rubbed the phone to her cheek with an ecstatic expression, which creeped out her brother.

"Umm... sis? Can you stop now? We still need to test that thing, remember?"

"Uh? Ah... Yes, right. Let's test my necklace first."

". . ."

The testing of HH Necklace went smoothly. They were amazed at how accurate this thing is. It even recorded her... *ahem*... three sizes.

"Why does this phone show my...?" Elizabeth was embarrassed and upset. Her brother saw hers because they were testing the necklace. How embarrassing!

"Umu, as expected of my onee-chan. It's almost D-cup," Kai gave a sagely nod after reading this info.

"You pervert!" Eliza slapped her brother HARD with a blush.

". . ."

*Sigh* "That was tiring."

I stretched as I recalled what happened earlier. The two fought like cats and dogs, neither of them want to lose. Luckily, I intervened before it escalated more. Although Kai's mature, he still is a cry baby. He's ten so it is understandable.

They're really siblings. I remember my sister looking at them. I hope she's doing fine, I feel bad leaving her and mom just after that bastard left us.

*Sigh* "Don't think about negative things, Alex! They will be fine. This is my life now."

Alex steeled herself and hoped that they are fine. She needs to work hard, persevere if she doesn't want to be a mediocre guy like in her past life. A forgettable background character that will slowly fade out. To be carved in the annals of history!

The first step to do that is to enter the orphanage. Though she can be adopted into Kai's family, she had her inexplicable pride to blame. She was ashamed to receive help from her friends when they helped her have sufficient meals to live by.

She didn't want to be indebted to them any more than what they already gave her. That's why she made that necklace in the first place to somehow repay them.

She took her worn out backpack and climbed down the tree, walking to the direction of the orphanage.

The orphanage is called Light Hope Orphanage, a subsidiary of St. Diego Antipan Church. It was the one of the christian churches in the city.

{A/N: The name of the church is made up... if there's a coincidence that it was the same as irl... that would be f'd up.}

Arriving in front of the orphanage, she looked at the gate where she can see a guard and a nun talking. They seemed to be worried about something.

"What are we supposed to do? If Sister Faith see us with nothing—!"

"Calm down sister Levothy, we just need to find one before sundown. There's still time."

At this moment, the guard inadvertently looked out and saw her. As soon as the two saw her, she swears that she saw their eyes lit up. What's wrong with them?

"Ah, there's an poor child outside, hurry and open the gate Hector."

The gate opened and the nun walked up to me with the guard behind her. She sat in front of me to match my height and asked me, "What's your name, girl?"

To which I perfunctory answered, "Alex."

"Girl, are you alone? You look terrible, where's your parents?"

Why do I feel like I've heard this? This question sounded like what a kidnapper would say. This nun gives me a weird feeling.

"I have no parents," I just answered her while keeping an innocent front.

"Th-That's bad. Why don't you come inside, we can let you stay here," the nun said to me with gentle smile on her lips.

"There are also other kids here that you can play with so you won't be lonely. What do you think?"

I looked at the nun's face who still had a gentle smile on. I feel a creepy feeling but I can't explain it. Why am I feeling like backing out now, this is the first step to my plan so I need to steel myself!

I nodded go her and said, "Okay." I agreed to her without thinking much but I would regret them later.

"Ugh...where am I?" I opened my eyes groggily and looked around me. When I saw the blood on the floor, the three suspicious robed people, and my dark surroundings I immediately knew that I am fucked.

I remember that when I entered the orphanage there was just a few kids, no more than a dozen. I didn't find it weird because I said to myself that 'maybe the others were adopted to families already'.

They welcomed me warmly, bathed me clean and gave me good clothes. I was pretty happy, who wouldn't when they also gave me plenty of food. I nearly cried when I ate that fried chicken. They stuffed me full until I couldn't eat anymore and felt sleepy. Now I think I know why.

"Toidi, siht lirg si na toidi! Ekat reh! Ho taerg nomed, t'narg ruo sehsiw ni egnahc'xe rof eht lirg!"

I don't really understand what they're saying but I somehow feel insulted. One thing I understand though is that they are occultists summoning a freaking demon. And who's the sacrifice? It's me! What joy! 😭
