Chapter 3

Li Xiu woke up to the sound of someone pacing around. Footsteps emitted a sense of panic and she couldn't help but flutter her weary eyes open. White welcomed her vision. It appears she was brought to the infirmary after collapsing out of incredulity. Relieved gasps and a tight hug followed, "heavens! you're finally awake Xiu!"

Su Qianqie let go of her tight grip, the meek lady gazing at her distressed form. Though as the frightening events she was able to momentarily forget came rushing through her, it also caused her considerable distress. Now they're both distressed.

Li Xiu raised her moist eyes, "i've done something stupid."

Qianqie sat down beside her, "tell me, not a single detail should be kept a secret between us." Her soft voice held comfort but it only made Li Xiu shook her head. The short haired girl immediately understood her action, "you can't, not you won't," she stated and she recieved a nod.

The seller said -- or rather, warned that knowledge of the magic within the bottle may cause eternal bad luck and misfortune. A definite no for her.

"Well, I won't pry but just you know sweetheart, the whole school is aware of the king's sudden interest on a certain someone."

Li Xiu covered her face with a pillow. This is a disaster! What was she supposed to do now? Her only chance at love is now being hindered by someone who didn't even acknowledge her even once in the past.

"W-what should I do now?"

"I don't think I can help that much since I don't even know what's going on but I think you should first analyze the cause of all this. Begin somewhere and you'll be able to create a solution along the way," Qianqie suggested with a raised finger. Her short hair was messy, probably from trying to figure out what her bestfriend just did to cause this so much havoc in the entirety of the school.

A light bulb. 'Ah yes! I simply need to find the seller! M-maybe I can get a refund?' She contemplated, "no. that would be too unkind. It was my fault I messed up in the first place so I guess I should just ask a solution, a way to reverse the magic.'

There was a knock on the door and a feeling of tightness penetrated Li Xiu's chest. Just that silent knock unnerved her and an image of who might be on the other side of the door flashed through her mind.

Her bestfriend got up and she missed how Li Xiu's eyes widen in utter panic as she pulled the knob open.

A suprised sound echoed around the room and like what Li Xiu anticipated, the obsidian eyes once again, entered her view.
