The classroom was so big and there were enough desks for all of us and there were a bunch of books in the desk pocket and a bunch of trinkets on the table that were recognisable. For example a rubix cube and a bunch of puzzle blocks in the shape of a cube etc. The desks were labeled with our names. We all went to our desks and explored the idioms on our desks when we heard Ms. Samantha cleared her throat and looked at us meaningfully. "Right now we will be doing an IQ test to see what your IQ is so that we can determine the average IQ for the advanced class is." Ms. Samantha cheered happily. "We will be taking mini tests all day. I want you to try your hardest because in this class we are competing in lots of television shows and the IQ score will be shown. The class gaped at these words. Your guardians have already given permission to this and it was stated on the contract that was sent to your guardian." I looked at her and I never got a contract, the teacher seemed to notice my confusion and explained. "This was the contract that you were given at the beginning of the year Amelia so yes we have everybody has signed Guardian."
'That makes a lot of sense I did not look through the contract this year because it looked so long so I just signed it figuring that nothing bad could come of it. Being on stage is not a big deal but at least I get to settle into a classroom for the first time. The people here look friendly enough, but that one girl sitting in the middle looks so cheerful I really wanna talk to her a lot.' The teacher starts to explain while I am lost in thought when I snap out of it I hear her say
"So basically when I finish the rubix cube stop the stopwatch and then give it to me to see how fast you did it and let me record it and then you will move on to the next activity. Okay. Now when I get to one start the stopwatch and solve the rubix cube. 3…...2…1" I started the stopwatch and I started to use the hack for rubix cubes that I saw on a pop up add and hoped it worked.
'Up down left right side side forward back.' I had that sequence on repeat in my head five seconds later I stopped the watch and showed the teacher my cube and my watch seven seconds. She recorded it without saying anything and then I turned around with the stopwatch and the cheerful girl was right behind me with her rubix cube and looked happily at me. I waved and then went back to my seat as much as I wanted to say something to her. I held it in and sat down. I saw the puzzle pieces and I clicked on the stopwatch and did it. That happened five more times before I was all done but each time that I showed Ms. Samantha my stopwatch I always turned around to see that girl. But since me and the girl were done the scores needed put into IQ. So we waited at our desks for the rest to finish. While I was waiting, I organized my desk and took out a text book to read just to see the new curriculum. It was certainly harder and It looked like this curriculum would be fun. I looked at the girl in the middle and she was reading poetry. I looked back at my own book until Ms. Samantha called our attention. "I have the results from the tests but we need to convert them into IQ scores in the meantime I want you all to tell each other your names and your age." A boy on the far right spoke up on this account.
"My name is Aiden and I am sixteen." Then the next person spoke up
"My name is Elizabeth and I am fifteen." Then people started speaking up left and right.
"My name is Bailey and I am fourteen."
"My name is Ally and I am sixteen." Then it was only me and the happy girl left but instead of me speaking up she did.
"My name is LIly and I am Fourteen." Then it was my turn
"My name is LIly and I am eleven." I chimed nervously. People looked at me but said nothing against me but nothing for me either. The one person that seemed genuinely happy about this was Lily the happy girl.
"I want you all to get to know each other so I am giving you all a group project that will be shown at the beginning of the year exhibition where it will be judged. The judges are strict but fair. This will be done in groups of two and I will let you choose your partner now." The teacher explained . As soon as she said go everybody rushed towards lily saying
"Lily I am the second smartest after you please let me work with you." Lily ignored them all and walked past them and then called out.
"Hey Amelia do you want to be partners." I looked at her in shock. 'Why would she want to be with me? But I know I want to be with her so I said sceptically.
"Sure." After the partners were decided Samantha who stated it clearly that she did not want to be called Ms. Said choose what you want to work on as your project. I sat with her in the corner of the room we had pulled up the chairs.
"What is your favorite subject Amelia?" Lily asked
"Human Anatomy. What about you?" I replied
"Writing I am really good at writing essays."
"Oh really that sounds cool, which topic do you wanna choose?"
"I think that if you already have research on human anatomy we could choose a part of a body and I could right about it? Also we could have a poster about the body part and we could have visuals and maybe even a demonstration of some sort," Lily rambled. She gave me an idea.
"Lily I have a lot of research about acupoint massages and I can do a demonstration on the judges." I chimed putting the idea out there. Lily looked at me in awe
"You know about acupoints!? That takes years to master! That is awesome!? Depending on how much research you have then we could definitely do that. Or if you want to do more research then that is perfect.
