If there was an option for a less dangerous path, then he, 'Kit' would take the opportunity to do so—wariness and caution were important things to have. He didn't manage to live over a thousand years by simply being foolhardy in battle. He knew how to run. Disengage. And to use others for his own benefit.
And yet the memories in the forest never left his mind as he stared at the young woman in front of him, the one his dear friend cherished. If there was anyone who'd make the old rabbit listen, it would be her. He should have realized that from the start.
However, he still wanted to hear her own answer.
If she no longer wanted to associate with their world, then he might consider such requests in favor for the rabbit. It would prevent heartbreak either, and so he weighed her body posture, gestures—words were not enough. He chose his own words carefully, "...in spite of the danger and fear, don't you still want to be with him?"
