79 Ch 79: Epilogue (2)

How could she have missed him? He was still a sight to behold.

Dressed in an expensive dark navy suit, pale yellow shirt and matching tie it looked as though he didn't have a worry in the world—as usual. "Waitressing now?" he said blandly as if it was no concern what she was doing.

Abigail glanced back and forth between them with a confused expression. "Y—yes Mr. Ross ." She said uneasily, "Please don't say anything. It took me six months to get this job." "Is that right?" he said with an unemotional smile. "Owen?" Abigail said with confusion. He turned and looked at his wife, "Honey you remember Ruby, my assistant."

That's where she remembered her from. She looked different. She certainly wasn't as pretty and sophisticated as she remembered her.

Maybe it had something to do with the stylish uniform she had to wear in comparison to the fashionable office attire. A brown skirt, white shirt and red tie which was not the least bit flattering to her figure.

Owen's demeanor was frightening. He was cold, ice-cold to the woman and she had no idea why. "Mr. Ross, I'm begging you," Ruby said again. He turned back to her, "Well, if you apologize to my wife, and sound convincing. I might not say anything."

Nodding abruptly she directed her attention to Abigail, "Mrs. Ross I'm so sorry I sent you that photo. I was stupid. I'll never do such a horrible thing again. I learned my lesson I couldn't get a job as anyone's PA after that and this was the first one I had since I was fired.

You were so pretty, and I thought there was no way to get you out of his life unless I did something like that. Please forgive me, I was so wrong." Abigail didn't know what to say, she was too stunned.

Owen never told her who sent the photograph, but knowing the extremes that he dealt with it made her swell with love for him.

"I think that's sufficient, Don't you Abigail?" She only nodded while turning her attention back on Owen. Her eyes were wide with wonder.

He winked at her and gave Ruby their order. After she left Abigail spoke again, "You meant it—I mean how you felt." "Of course I did. I only had eyes for you little cheetah. I know I can be emotionally detached sometimes but nothing ever dissuaded how I felt about you."

He squeezed her hand, "She wasn't a very good PA anyway." She laughed, "Can you please just stop making her suffer?" "Since you asked, your wish is my command." He answered. "I take her off the blackball list." "I love you." She gave him a ravishing grin. "Baby, that's all I ask." He kissed her knuckles again.

HAPPY ENDING
