Danger lurking in the corner

At the first ring, Bolin answered the call and without waiting to hear his voice, Mr. Fang said through gritted teeth, "You dared to hire my student as my housekeeper? You better appear before me in 10 minutes If you don't want your head to become my dinner!"

Bolin who had just stepped foot into his house didn't even get the chance to pull his shoes when Mr. Fang's call came in. He also didn't dare to say a word after hearing his furious voice.

He quickly picked up his car key and dashed out of his house with his phone in his hand.

Swiftly, he got into his car and drove off, while at high speed, he searched for Zhang Liling's details on the internet with one hand, he was almost going crazy at the moment.

How could the 27 years old housekeeper he hired, be Mr. Fang's student? He hasn't seen that face before.

A minute online, Bolin saw the news about Zhang Liling and the recent one about her. She fainted at NYU and was rushed to the hospital and everyone had asked if she was being maltreated.

Bolin saw her picture and almost had an accident. He had to park his car to study her photograph properly and the latest incident at NYU, and it was then that he discovered who she was.

She was the same student his boss carried to the clinic, the very one whose scent does not irritate him, and the same person Chuanli needed her information. But this wasn't important.

What was important is, what is Zhang Liling doing in Mr. Fang's house? Does she know the kind of predicament she would be putting him in?

A student like Zhang Liling who was from the Zhang family was working as a housekeeper in the house of someone like Mr. Fang, who was her lecturer and a business mogul that was highly recognized.

Who knows what kind of ridiculous rumors and news would spread from that?

Without wasting time, Bolin pressed down on his speed pedal. His current facial expression revealed the tears he was shedding in his heart.

He was wondering how he managed to pick up a troublemaker like Zhang LIling.

"Mr. Fang I'm sorry for the trouble I have cost you, I promise it won't happen again. I just needed your help to avoid being bullied to death by my stepmother. I'm still young and I don't want to live a horrible life, please help me!"

Zhang Liling was on her knees begging Mr. Fang for help. Was she sincere? No, she wasn't. She just wanted him to let her continue to let her stay at his place.

Mr. Fang was so angry that he asked her to leave his office.

"Get out!" He said while pointing at the door.

Zhang Liling flinched but remained stubborn, not even trying to move an inch.

Mr. Fang saw that she wasn't moving and got up from his seat and made his way toward her. Zhang Liling noticed his movement and hurriedly rose to her feet in fright. She thought he was coming to hit her,

"Leave my sight, I don't want to strangle you with my hands, go and pack your things and wait to be sent away!" Mr. Fang commanded. He looked even more furious given how stubborn she was.

Pack her things? How was that possible after all the efforts she has made? It's not like she didn't expect this, but it was too soon. She wanted a chance to prove herself to him.

"Mr. Fang, please let me stay here and work for you, I promise to serve and give you maximum satisfaction," Zhang Liling said with a fearful tone.

She was trying just one more time to keep her spot.

Why did those words sound suggestive? Even Mr. Fang thought so. He was tongue-tied and just pointed at her without saying anything.

Never has Mr. Fang been put in such a situation before. He was so angry and speechless at the same time.

Seeing that he was at the peak of his anger, Zhang Liling bowed and turned to escape, while narrowly escaping being hit on the head with a pen.

She didn't dare to slow down and immediately rushed out of his study and went down the stairs to recover her breath.

'Ah! Why is Mr. Fang so scary!' She thought to herself. This was the first time she was seeing him so infuriated, and she happened to be the reason behind it.

Two minutes later, Bolin's car pulled over in front of the villa. While getting out of the car, his phone rang. Thinking it was Mr. Fang, he glanced at the screen only to see Chuanli's name.

If it was any other person given the current situation, Bolin wouldn't have answered the call.

Taking the call, he rushed into the house.

"Where is your Boss? Why is he not taking my calls? I have a piece of important information to pass to him." Chuanli said in an excited tone.

Bolin answered in an urgent tone, "Dr. Li, can I return your call later, I'm in the middle of a delicate matter?"

This was not the time for him to answer that call, his head was at risk here.

"When you are done handling your matter, tell Bingwen that his female student, the one he was comfortable with, is from the Zhang family in City S," Chuanli announced.

He thought that Mr. Fang would be more interested to know which family his female student was from.

"He already knows as that Zhang Liling is right here in his house, and danger is roaming around the corner," Bolin said as he came into the house and saw Zhang Liling pacing up and down at the foot of the stairs with a nervous facial expression.

"What? She is there?!" Chuanli asked in surprise as he immediately shot up from his seat. He couldn't believe his ears.

He was so surprised and excited at the same time that he had many thoughts going on in his head.

'Has Bingwen finally decided to bring her close to his side?'

'Is this because of the experiment?'

'Wait, is he interested in her?'

"Dr. Li, I will speak to you later," Bolin said in a haste as he got close to Zhang Liling's side.

"Wait! I'm coming right away. I won't have a good rest if I don't come over and see what is going on. Tell the security to let me in!" Chuanli said immediately as he picked up his car key from the diner table and quickly made his way to the door,

"I will," Bolin replied and ended the call thereafter.

He was somehow relieved that Chuanli was coming over in the middle of the night, as his presence would alleviate the lurking danger around the corner.

As for Zhang Liling, she might be redeemed in the process. That was Bolin's thought while staring hard at her in grievance.
