Chapter 20 : Your baby is fine

They carried Rohan to the car and drove the two of them to the hospital.

The hospital was the best private hospital in the country, and it belonged to the Bon-Hwa Fernando Group.

At the emergency unit of the Burn Centre attached to the main hospital, the doctors and nurses were running helter skelter. They would do anything for any patient, how much more the owner of the hospital and his wife.

Chin Cho was taking to the female VIP ward while Rohan Fernando was taken to the male VIP ward. These wards were specially designed in such a way that only the nurse and doctor on duty and perhaps the relations of the patients that knew that someone was hospitalized there.

The specialist doctor arrived in less than five minutes after being called by the doctor on night shift.

Doctor Mark arrived, he was the specialist doctor in charge of the fire unit of the hospital. Luckily he was living within the staff quarters, the moment he arrived with his white apron, he moved swiftly to the patients.

He particularly alarmed when he learnt that the fire victims that he had rushed to treat were the boss and his wife; who just wedded yesterday or was it still today?.

What could have happened? No one was in the position to answer the question. The man and his wife were still unconscious.

Without much delay, he proceeded to diagnosis and determine the level of degree of their burns.

The other doctors were battling to save Rohan's life. He was on the verge of death due to the poisoning from the hard-drink

But doctor Mark concentrated on Chin Cho who was only suffering from the fire shock.

Dr Mark examined her and found out that the burns in her body were not more than 3 inches in diameter. Some parts of her skin were beginning to blister while some parts only showed redness like sunburn, by now she was already back to her consciousness and was winching in pain.

When the doctor has determined that it was a minor burn and therefore, a first degree, he proceeded to apply treatment on the woman. The nurse was also busy applying first aids.

She cooled down the burnt areas with cold water, unfortunately some parts were already beginning to swollen, she avoided breaking the blisters in those areas that were already blistered. This was to help in avoiding infection. Then she proceeded to apply antibiotic ointment on the blisters that were already broken.

The doctor was busy with major diagnosis, while the nurse continued with by applying aloe vera moisturizing lotion to the burned areas. This provide little relief from pain for Chin Cho and kept the place from drying out. After that, she loosely bandaged the burn.

The nurse was about injecting her with a pain relief when the doctor stopped her. "how many times have I told you that, tests should be carried out on every adult female before administering any drug, especially injectable."

"am sorry doctor" the nurse replied and without another word, she proceeded to carry out some tests. In few minutes, the nurse came out with the results and handed over to the doctor.

When the doctor looked through the result, he said to the nurse, "you would not only have lost your job, but your life as well. You can give her Advil Ibuprofen and Nortriptyline."

With that he left to the male VIP ward where Rohan was being resuscitated back to life. When he reached the bed, Rohan had been brought back to life and his condition was prettily stable but he was still slightly unconscious. And nothing had been done about his burns.

Dr. Mark immediately determined the level of Rohan's burns, it was a second degree burn; therefore, a major burn.

Chin Cho was lucky that none of the burn touched her face. They were mostly on her hands and legs and her back where her clothes caught little flame. So apart from the paleness of her face, she would have nothing to worry about her beautiful face.

The next day Chin Cho woke up. She was feeling better than yesterday, the pains all over her body had drastically subsided. Just a little weakness.

At that moment, the doctor and Omar Dan; Rohan's assistant came in, the smiled at her "how are you Mrs Bong-Hwa?" she did not reply, she thought it was another person the doctor was referring to.

She had almost forgotten that she was married to Bong-Hwa heir. When it dawned on her that she was the Mrs Bong-Hwa; the doctor was referring to, she smiled faintly and said "am fine doctor."

Dan said to her "am happy that you are alright madam." He flashed her a genuine smile.

She smiled back and said "how is he, looking from the doctor to Dan.

She had held her breath, for fear of what was going to be the answer. "he is faring well, very soon he would be fully recovered. The doctor replied her.

Involuntarily, she breathed in with a sigh of relief. The two men noticed it. The doctor was not surprised; it is natural for a woman to fear for her husband's life. The boss's assistant was happy that the woman really cared for his boss despite just meeting each other for the first time yesterday.

"do you have an idea of what happened last night?" the doctor asked her casually while applying some treatment to her body.

"when we came back yesterday, and in the night I could not sleep, when I went downstairs to give him something, he had four bottles of liquor and other items I could not identify.

Due to the sleeplessness, I was looking out of the window when I saw someone entering the storehouse, I went to his room to inquire, he was not there, I suspected him to be the one inside the store house. After sometimes, I saw fire coming out of the small house.

And I called mr. Omar before I entered to save him."

You are a very brave woman" Dan praised her.

"yes very brave, thank God you and your baby are safe."
