Dinner Drama
Alonso pulled out a chair for his wife ensuring she sat down first and then took the seat at the head of the table opposite his father. He smiled at his sisters and the staff around the table but his mouth formed a straight line when his eyes met the president's.
"I see that everyone is already gathered for the meeting, father. What is it all about?"
"You'll see once the guest of honor arrives, son." He glanced at his wristwatch. "He should be here any minute."
Keeping an expressionless face, Alonso placed his elbows on the table and rubbed his hands together continuously. When he turned around and looked at Natalie, she asked him with her eyes: what's going on? He let her know that he had no idea either with a subtle shrug.
When the doorbell rang, Juan hurried to answer it.
"He's here!" Alonso Senior's demeanor flipped 180 degrees; his eyes sparkled, and he looked pleased with the guest's punctuality.
