Chapter 29

"Rachel."

Nancy gently kicked Rachel's leg who was now sitting across from her.

The woman who was busy daydreaming, while lazily stirring the cold drink in her hand then looked up, "Hm?"

Nancy leaned over. "Are you fight with Mr. young?" she whispered with a probing gaze.

Rachel nodded sourly. "Yes, that is so."

"Now wehe didn't even greet you at all, as if you two didn't know each other," Nancy muttered, glancing at the corner of her eye, stealing glances at Dimitri, who now seemed to be in front of the cashier ordering something with his friends. "Aih! First time in history, Mr. Young to ignore you that much."

"I understand very well, Nancy. we In my opinion, my mistake was very fatal with him." Rachel took a deep breath, one hand raised to massage the bridge of her nose. "I don't expect to be friends with him again. He can just forgive me, that's enough for me."

For someone who doesn't like always overthinking like Rachel, being ignored by someone after she made a mistake is certainly a burden on her mind.

"What's the problem?" Nancy asked, but soon the woman chuckled softly and corrected her words again. "Forget it. Let's just pretend I never asked. You never want to tell me about your problem, right?"

Rachel smiled softly as she rubbed the back of her neck that didn't itch. Then, her attention was diverted when she found Dimitri and his three friends finished with their orders and were about to leave the cafe.

"Dimitri," Rachel greeted as she grabbed Dimitri's arm as he passed her desk. It took a lot of courage for her to do this.

"Please, I need a moment of your time." Rachel swallowed hard. "We need to talk."

Rachel's actions get whistles from Dimitri's friends. The woman was just silent with a blush on her face, it was a shame to be teased like that especially this is a public place.

Dimitri's gaze dropped to Rachel's hand that was now holding his. The man then released the hand while saying, "I'm sorry, Rachel. But not now."

"Whoa!" One of Dimitri's friends whistled teasingly. "Apparently we have a friend who is sulking at his girlfriend."

"So this is the woman you told me about?" another friend asked. "No wonder your level of love is over the limit. She is indeed very adorable, man," he said again with his eyebrows rising and falling.

"Brian, stop teasing him," said the stern-faced man next to him.

"Ah, Kenzo, you're so no fun!"

Rachel suddenly regretted her impulsive act of holding Dimitri back. If she had known Dimitri's random friends, she would have chosen to remain silent, and act as if they didn't know each other like before.

While Dimitri himself chose to ignore it, he didn't seem angry even though the three of his friends seemed very satisfied with teasing him. The man then walked away leaving his friends just like that.

"Hey! He's gone instead," the man named Brian called softly.

"You go first with Kenzo after Dimitri," said one of Dimitri's friends. "I still have some business to do."

"Don't tell me you intend to take that woman away from our best friend, Daniel." Brian looked up with his hands crossed.

The man turned his body towards Rachel. "Hey, Miss. You must reject if this man asking you to get acquainted let alone on a date! Ok?" said Brian.

Rachel just stared at him in confusion. Especially when the man called Kenzo earlier walked away while pulling Brian's shirt with an annoyed face. Brian's outspoken and absurd behavior sometimes embarrassed those who were with him.

"Daniel is a cassanova level crocodile! You must reject Daniel if he asking you out! Dimitri is certainly much better than him!" he said loudly as he walked further and further and then disappeared behind the door.

Brian's exclamation made Rachel even more embarrassed. Luckily, the cafe, which is located right next to the office building, is quiet, considering that most of the employees spend their rest time in the canteen located inside the office.

"Hey, what's your name, Miss?" The half-blood who had been called Daniel held out one hand to Rachel. "I'm Daniel, one of Dimitri's best friends."

With a reluctant face Rachel welcomed the outstretched hand. "Rachel."

Daniel smiled faintly, as soon as he found the woman Dimitri was targeting was very shy. She doesn't look act aggressively looking for attention like most of the women he meets.

Daniel turned to a woman who sat at the same table with Rachel. Daniel raised an eyebrow, then chuckled as he shook his head slowly. This woman who seemed to be Rachel's friend suddenly cosplayed into a statue, barely blinking with a look of interest to him.

"Nancy," Nancy mumbled with a wide grin and an indistinct smile.

The grin on his handsome face is indeed very charming, even able to anesthetize every woman who sees it. Including the woman who sat at the same table with Rachel.

Nancy rested her hand with her elbows resting on the table. Seemed hypnotized by the visuals of a Daniel the Cassanova. She didn't even really listen to what her friend and the guy were talking about.

After shaking hands with Nancy, Daniel's hands went back into his pants pockets. His attention returned to Rachel.

"Rachel, do you know? This is the first time I've seen Dimitri fall in love until so seriously for a woman," he muttered. "But it seems that you have made a very fatal mistake. In fact, for the first time, I saw great disappointment in Dimitri's eyes when he saw you."

Daniel's gaze was straight ahead, his low mumbling that Rachel could still hear. Makes feelings of regret and guilt more entrenched in the chest.

Rachel bit her lip, her chest pounding with anxiety, this guilt weighing on her. Rachel couldn't let her guard down when someone was mad at her, even to the point of hating her.

"I just wanted to apologize to him," Rachel whispered quietly, looking down and squeezing her fingers. "But it seems Dimitri hates me a lot."

"As expected, Dimitri didn't pick the wrong woman." Daniel smirked. Dimitri's best friend seemed satisfied with Rachel's reaction and answer. "You're a good woman, Rachel. It makes me happy."

Daniel smiled a little and then started walking away intending to leave.

"Ah, by the way, Rachel…" Before disappearing behind the door, the man glanced briefly at Rachel. "Take my word, Dimitri won't give up on you so easily. Especially after he's been trying so hard all this time. So don't worry, your relationship will definitely improve, Rachel."

Daniel left. He walked further and further towards the office building following his friends.

"Plus with my little help, of course," Daniel continued to himself.
